Collecting Dust

Time moves faster with every passing day. In the blink of an eye, our most treasured moments of life become idealized memories of days past. A time capsule of mornings awoken by the rising sun and letters written by hand rests on the shelves of our minds collecting dust. A symbol of simpler times that we refuse to leave behind, the dust surrounds us like wind moving across the plains. The past resurfaces each time a horse’s hooves hit the ground or dirt comes in with the crops—welcome reminders that no matter how much time passes, the dust will never settle.
