I love this Hoodie, except for in the rain. First storm and the hood is completely soaked, the rest seems fine so far. I wish it was more rain resistant. Otherwise it seems very durable.

This is my go to hoodie when I want to blend warmth with a casual style. It is a heavy material and unlined so you can wear a t-shirt under it on a cool day or layer it with a coat on chillier days. The rain/wind resistant fabric and hoodie are great and particularly appreciated on windy days.

Ive wore a similar Carhartt sweatshirt for as long as I can remember. and what happen??? Ive had this new one for about 2 weeks now, and I'm growing to really, really,really hate it. First off , right off the bat, who the heck decided , gee lets not make it in Carhartt brown? Really, what does Guatemala not dye Carhartt brown?? The zipper sticks every time, guess Ill try to wax it,but shouldn't have to. The hood just doesn't fit right, and draw strings are to short. The little so called security pocket, is beyond useless, its actually annoying , and needs to be cut out. It sits at such an angle, that EVERY single time to put your hands in the pocket, it will get hung up on the stupid thing, beyond annoying, like I said, I plan to cut mine out. And the sleeves are just beyond annoying as well, they are so darn tight, that they actually cut the circulation off to my hands. Ive stretched them out, and they just shrink right back, to skinny, limp wrested size, but I'm sure in a couple of months if I just don't throw this jacket away, that the sleeves will be too loose. Like I said Ive worn nothing but Carhartt this, and Carhartt that for ever, but I'm really, really super dissapointed with this jacket....

Great sweatshirts. I wear them to hunt in, work in, and just everyday wear. Just like all original fit items they run just a touch on the big size. I normally wear an XL but in carhartt products that are original fit I wear a Large.

Second one. Should have an inside jacket pocket just like my first one. First 5 inches of main zipper stiff and awkward to close. Emblem on left sleeve unnecessary and too showie. Additional pocket inside right pocket good idea. Somewhat disappointed. At best neutral on product.

This is a replacement for the one a bought many years back. Excellent jacket. Great for all weather occasions. I like the fact it is water repellent and can be for all temperatures. Ohio has extreme weather changes and this is my go to jacket. Rain or snow it does a great job. I wear this jacket spring, winter, and fall. Just glad to be able to replace it with a new one exactly like the old. Even the old one still is good but just a little faded from so may washings. Complete satisfied!

This is a great sweater for the fall and spring but surprisingly thin. Also, it looks black in the picture but is a lighter shade. I like the thought he will stay dry and it looks good, too and it seems to be comfortable. He is six feet tall and wanted an extra large tall. He's thin so I didn't think x large would work for him but it does. I will have to buy him a thicker one for the winter.

i ordered mens medium for both my boys who are 18- one is 5’9” and 150lbs the other is 6’ and 150. lbs. the hoodies were HUGE. looked like an extra large on them. sent them back and didn’t exchange because they don’t look waterproof to me, they just look like a thick cotton hoodie.

I wish it didn't shed on my white tshirts makes them look horrible but after a wash it doesn't shed as much but the fit style and looks and quality top notch I love them bought 3 of the same exact hoodie easily would of given 5stars if it didn't destroy fresh white tshirt it doesn't stain it it's the Lint its a Lottttttttt of Lint !!

You guys added to many pockets. The little pocket in the large right pocket sucks. I can’t get a hand or my keys or anything in it with out it getting caught in the little pocket. Im going to rip it out. You should stop making it with that one.

I ordered an XL in size which is what I would normally order in such an item. This particular hoodie comes in a loose fit and it is of a LONG cut. Together that made the XL size a bit to large for me. I passed it on to my son who is a bit taller than I. I'm forced to order another one in size Large.

I purchased this hoodie in size Large Tall which fits me perfectly, it runs a little loose the way hoodie should run. It is built very well and includes a water repellent finish that works when it rains. The only negative is that Carhartt does cut them the way some sports makers do. They include tapered collar area which allows extra material. This makes for a larger hood to fully cover your head. If you expect to keep all of your head completely dry with this hood, you will not be satisfied

Quality and consistency is gone. I purchased two in the same order and they are different from on another in quality and design. One has significantly smaller pockets. The weight of the fabric is different and thinner than my old one. Disappointed.

This hoodie is a replacement for the one I got about 6 years ago. I loved my old one but it was just worn out. I’ve had this hoodie for about a month and I like it a lot. It’s very warm and I really like that it’s water repellent.

I have a couple of these full zip hoodies in different colors. I love them. I do need to say that I think they are selling themselves short on the water repellent aspect of the material. It will stand up to more than just a light rain. Last week I was pressure washing some equipment at work all day. The bottom half of my body was soaked 1 hour in. 8 hours later when I finished the top half of me was still dry due to my hoodie. The hoodie had been pelted with water all day. The outside was dripping wet, yet the inside was dry. I've worn my green hoodie hunting and have been rained on all day and it kept me dry. Now if you know you are going to be rained on or in a wet environment I'd suggest wearing a proper waterproof top, but this hoodie will still keep you dry if you happen to get caught out in the rain.

The Carhartt Loose fit, Heavyweight sweater that I bought a year ago had a second liner. They are much warmer than the ones I just ordered. The new ones will only be good for Spring and Fall but I wanted them for winter like I wear my other two older ones. I thought about returning them but then I won't have sweaters for Spring and Fall so I guess I'll keep them.

The new Navy Blue Color I just purchased is wonderful and looks great. It is super warm, and I love the fact you can wear it in the rain, I just did that in the last few days. Plus it looks very nice, the quality is excellent, or superb. The fit is perfect. The double lined hood makes a big difference in warmth and comfort. As someone who is 6'4", it's hard to find sweaters that dont ride up. Quality made, lightweight, and toasty warm. Able to wear a hat and have the hood up comfortably, fits arms perfectly and never shows my stomach, even with my arms above my head. It's good stuff!

Although I really like this sweatshirt , I have found that the cuffs wear out within a year. It’s very frustrating when you have a sweatshirt that wears like iron and still has very little fading but because of the unraveling cuffs makes it look very shabby!!!

Nice quality sweatshirt that makes a very nice gift for most men. Personally, I'm not particularly fond of the new style of pockets only because they are a bit harder getting into. On the flip side that makes it harder for things to fall out. So it is a personal choice. But it certainly does not keep me from buying more and more of them. Excellent gifts.

The garment is warm and sheds water as advertised. I suggest washing before wearing because I had a large amount of fuzz balls all over my shirt when I removed the garment. Washing did correct this unexpected issue

I wish it stayed cold all year so I could wear this hoody.

Very durable hoody. I thought about moving to Canada just so I could wear it more often. It just doesn't get very cold in Alabama. This hoody is so nice, it may be worth sweating just to be able to wear it.

My husband bought one at Fleet Farm. I wanted one just like it so I searched your site for the item # on the tag in his. The product that arrived didn't have the same lining material. His is fluffy, I would call it "sherpa". the one I bought from you had a flat lining material. I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to wearing the sweatshirt and had my heart set on that warm fluffy snuggly lining. So back it went. How can you make something so different and assign it the same item number?

I just got this and so haven't been able to test it in the field but so far...I'm impressed. It's very thick for a Hoodie. Seems to be very well made. Runs pretty true to size maybe just a little on the big side. I normally wear a 3x but got this in 2x tall. As long as it doesn't shrink too much it'll be a perfect fit. If you plan on wearing some layers under it, I'd go with your normal size first. Always been happy with carthartt products and this Hoodie does not disappoint. I've paid the same price in the past for much less quality. Great job carthartt.

I absolutely love this sweatshirt. Very comfortable and water resistant. The interior lining is no longer mesh and no a much more comfortable soft material. They also eliminated an interior pocket and added a phone sleeve in one of the front pockets. Perhaps best of all was the zipper upgrade. I had two zipper failures on the last version.

Keeps a modest rain away .. though will lose some of this functionality as you wash it repeatedly .. so take it easy. Still my favorite thing to wear if I am chilly .. very comfortable as well. Hood is the right size as well. Very impressed.

I love this hoodie! I find it super warm with its thermal lining and thickness. It works as an outer layer in cold weather coupled with a sweater underneath. It repels rain quite well in mild downpours for limited periods of time. It’s held up nicely so far under rugged conditions. I would recommend this to any of my fellow workers.

The jacket is a good medium weight fabric. I like the hood and front pockets. However, the zipper jumped the teeth at the top of the jacket and fell off during a regular wash and dry cycle. To be fair, the instructions caution gentle cycles, though my expectation is to have durable work and casual performance without special treatment. To the good, was able to reinstall the zipper, but it will not close the last 7 inches without replacement. The negative is it is made ioff off shore in vietnam. I prefer and seek out American made products. Overall, it is a good quality jacket with optimally being made in the states in the future.

It's the RIGHT ONE! They sell out so quick that I deliberately bought 1.5 X larger then necessary so I can also wear it over top of everything else. I still can't believe how warm this 12 oz. is. My wife's 22 year old Green canvas jacket is closer to 22 oz. and I'm finally glad I couldn't find one. This will always be lighter and more comfortable even if I ever have to wear this Heavyweight over a middleweight and a regular for freezing winds at night. That's right, I just bought 3 Carhartt hoodies and can empty the rest of the closet. But I wish they would rub pure bees wax on the zipper.

Feels nice, looks good, is not as thick as I expected, but I really do like it. Few things to know: the "peat" looks quite grey-ish on the product picture, but little bit more green-ish in reality and the zipper that looks darker and rounded on the product picture, is more of the classic squared one (look at the picture @joericstreeter posted) and the size "small" is just "small on the Carhartt scale" ;)

I use this in combination with the C55 for the coldest weather. The advantage of the zipper is that you can leave it in the coat. Bulletproof combo for the cold. Solid durable construction. Runs a size large as is known, just like the C55.

In the short time I have this jacket the teeth on the zipper broke. This is unacceptable and now I'm forced to take the jacket to my local dry cleaner to replace the entire zioper. To boot, this happened another time last year on another jacket! Let's see if the dry cleaning costs more than the jacket I'll just throw it away. Very disappointed in Carhartt.

Loose fit, heavyweight hoodie. Rain defender. I am 5’10” 190lbs. I originally ordered a large but it was way too big. I ordered a medium and it is a perfect fit. I like the loose fit. It is a little longer than what I wanted but I like the length now. It is a true heavyweight hoodie. Perfect for outdoors work and play. Strong zipper and deep, deep pockets. I prefer the hood with two seams instead of one down the middle. It is soft and comfortable to wear inside the house. I bought and returned the flint and tinder 10 year hoodie. I prefer carhartt.

I purchased the hoodie and was hoping it was as good as the previous one.. Unfortunately I was disappointed..it was just as heavy of the fabric but it doesn't have the meshing inside to keep the cold out.. not sure what the hidden pocket is for, not really big enough for anything.. Probably the thickest and most substancial hoodie I have ever seen in my life. It weighs a ton and is perfect for winter layering and chilly spring/fall mornings and light showers. Brass YKK zipper will work a long time and not rust, metal eyelets for drawstrings. 3, yes 3 piece hood instead of the standard 2 which keeps your head warm. The DWR coating works way better than I thought. Water beads off easily, it will only soak through if it is heavy rain for over 30 mins. Im very impressed, the 75/25 cotton-poly blend is a good balance of warmth, strength and breathability. 13oz is perfect for me, it can be used as a jacket that’s how thick it is. My favorite hoodie, ever, hands down. Will buy another color in the future. Thank you carhartt.

Awesome hoodie. Very warm. This winter I have yet to touch my Carhartt duck jacket even with the temps into the single didgets. It cuts the wind. Good protection from rain. The hood is bigger so you can put it over your hard hat. Nothing but good things about this hoodie.

Qualty is OK. I would consider this a "midweight" not a heavyweight sweatshirt. I have a flat stomach area, but the sweatshirt ballons out in abdominal area unless bottom unnaturally pulled down past hips. Have exact same garment bought five or six years ago that is much thicker and fits fine.

This is a heavy weight, durable jacket for guys who spend a lot of time outside and are looking for a jacket that can stand up to rough treatment. Everything was great except for the start to the zipper. Doable, but always a bit of a hassle. Wish that part had a better design so it was easy to get the zipper started without fussing around.

Works well on the ranch.

I was excited to purchase this sweatshirt as I heard many good things about it. I purchased in a Carhartt store in local mall (Syracuse, NY) and am very disappointed I was not told that they had tall sizes. As others have stated these run a size larger, I usually wear an XL, but purchased the Large because the XL was much too big for me. However, the sleeves are very short and I would have definitely preferred the option to have longer sleeves that the Tall sizes apparently give. I am also not very impressed with the Rain Defender part of the sweatshirt. It has been raining on and off for the past two weeks where I live and I thought, perfect opportunity to test the Rain Defender sweatshirt. After 5 minutes in a light rain the material started getting soaked, it did not really every bead up the way it has for other users, so I am not sure if this particular item is defective. On a positive note, this is the heaviest sweatshirt I have ever owned and although it did take a bit to get used to I now love it. Very warm and seems extremely durable. I have worn outside to do landscaping work and no tears, holes or anything else. The 4 stars for comfort is due to the getting used to how heavy the sweatshirt is plus the tightness of the waistband and sleeve bands. They just take a bit of getting used to.

Love the jacket. This is my 4th one over the years. The one thing I didn't like is they eliminated the inside pocket. Which I do not understand. That pocket is so handy for your cel phone. The little pocket inside the right pocket is of little use. Overall I love my jacket

Unlike all my Carhartt hoodies the sleeves on the zip up hoodie seems to be shorter. A couple more inches longer would have been perfect. I do however like the quality of the material and the workmanship seems to be the excellent quality I’ve come to expect from Carhartt.

I was impressed with the quality, and heavyduty weight of the sweatshirt. This can last a lifetime. I am a little disappointed though that the sweatshirt runs a little large. I am hoping after a few washes it will shrink a bit.

I do miss the old carhartt sweatshirts. The fabric was cotton just felt different. Maybe they were just reminiscent of fabric I was used to. I've gotten used to and I like this new product line. The carhartt sweatshirts do repel a lite rain. Feel like a quality thick sweatshirt. More colors I assume will be available with time.

Overall it’s the best sweater I own and the customer service is great!

I ordered this online mistaking it for another style with smooth lining and inside pockets. I love the smooth one and wanted another color. This one is nice but lacks the refinement and ease of slipping over fleece tops. Still a practical hoodie.

This one is somewhat different from the previous model I find this one to be more water resistant from the coating that was applied to it and the tighter weave. They really took the idea of the rain defender and got more serious about what it claims to do. I find the new model to not have as much breathability as the previous model. The inner liner really helped create a pocket of air that was exceptionally good at wicking away moisture. If it were actually raining I would prefer the new model for the ability to repel water: the coating really makes a difference. If it were a fall day with the sun shining I would prefer the older model because the moisture wicks away far better. The new model can feel a bit more sticky, like it just doesn't breathe as well. They are both great hoodies and I can understand why they made changes to the hoodie. Two different models to accomplish the same task, I found the old model has more versatility though.

This thing actually does well in light rain. Great when you get caught in a downpour. The sleeves are nice and long for a tall guy! The pocket section is a little more baggy than the normal hoodies but not bad.

This hooded zipper is a great coverage for all seasons. My Husband wears this almost year round including the WI winters and this keeps him pretty warm. He's had the same hooded zipper for almost 3 years and is just now showing signs of wear and a few small holes.

Nice jacket. I believe Carhartt has made the hoods bigger which is a bonus compared to the last two jackets I've owned. This actually covers my whole head with room for play. I just wish it had an inside pocket for my phone. I wear an XL in shirts, but with Carhartt jackets, I do a Large.

I have worn this sweatshirt for the past year, it has held up well to the constant wear week after week. I wear a sweatshirt during the majority of the year, with the rain defender it is my go to in wet or snowy weather. I typically wear 2XL Tall, but I ordered a 3XL because of layering, sizing was accurate. I am planning on purchasing another so I can rotate and keep a clean sweatshirt available.

I am normally a large-tall in carhartt clothes but this is more like an XXL, it's way too big and looks like a dress. When zipped up. It's 2 inches from my knee caps. However the quality is great and materials are holding up well to casual around the house wear and a few wash/dry cycles.

I liked the sweatshirt but i was annoyed that the zipper broke appart, i bought it 2 month ago and it broke appart. I thought carhartt did durable clothing but i'm a bit dissapointed with this experience. The other things are okay, it's confortable, warm and runs true to size.
