    Love the Belt, Dislike the durability

    Bought this belt a few months ago and absolutely love the fit and look. Unfortunately, putting it on today and the buckle just fell off. Very weird. I hang my belt up everyday. Was great until it fell apart.

    Broke in first month of use. The buckle is not as sturdy as it looks, the back part that leather wraps around is super thin and broke at work, noticed belt is "Imported" please Carhartt dont save a buck making junk in china I will gladly pay extra for made in AMERICA. Have used Carhartt for years and will continue to, hope this was sn isolated incident. Overall the leather is great would like to gind another buckle to sew on.....

    Misrepresented as a full grain leather belt when in fact it is a "genuine leather" belt. Why is this important? Genuine Leather is a marketing term that is somewhat deceptive when regarding leather quality to the general public. Genuine leather is the bottom of the of leather grades. Again, genuine leather just means “technically leather”. What is leather? It means the definition of genuine leather to include any animal’s hide. That means pig leather, goat leather, etc. also qualify as “genuine leather”. It also means that discarded scraps of leather reconstituted into a bag form can qualify as a “genuine leather bag”. It could be scraps of pig hide, sand down the surface, layer it with chemicals, and reformat it into a bag, jacket or wallet and call it “genuine leather.” Full grain is the most durable and resistant to wear. Full-grain leather is made from the whole hide of the animal, whether it is cow leather, kangaroo, or any other animal. The hide of an animal is strongest and most durable.

    I am very pleased with my new carhartt anvil belt. You can feel the solid strength and quality that carhartt has always been known for as soon as you pick it up. The buckle is made of a heavier good quality metal that I'm sure will not wear or break anytime soon, and the leather feels really smooth and strong as well. The anvil belt is a little wider belt than I'm used to, but I am not having any issues with that at this point. I would highly recommend this belt to anyone who is looking for a good dependable belt.

    I purchased this belt after wearing a Carhartt belt every day for 12 years. Within months the buckle had finish wearing and primer showing in strange spots. Now, a year later, and the buckle has chips out, and they are down to raw metal. If you look at the photos, you will see the leather shows little wear, but the buckle is very distressed.

    Thick, durable leather! This belt will not stretch or distort with use. I would have liked to be able to change the belt buckle but it is stitched in place. No frills (decorations) on the leather, just a logo on the end and company name by the buckle. Like the title of this review... Kind of plain.

    I have owned 3 of these belts. One brown and 2 black versions. All three have been great. One had the buckle break after about 1-1/2 years of wearing it almost daily. Leather is nice and wide as well as thick so holds up great.

    Great Bold ,Sturdy and wide black belt. The gunmetal color on buckle is great. This should be worn as a dresser belt not a work belt. The only down side is the leather scratches easily. I took a black sharpie to touch up.

    The only thing I can say is that it is a very wide belt. Barely fits through the jeans loop. But that is my fault for not paying attention. Other than that , very happy with it. Much better than most of those off the rack belts.

    I have another belt that I thought was the same as the one I ordered. It is not, the new belt is about 1/8 inch wider. It is more difficult to feed into the belt loops. Not my favorite. I will not buy another.

    More holes punched. The belt received has 5 holes. I needed 5 more and still waiting from a shoe repair place who will have the holes punched out by Monday 5/4/20. Good belt still cannot use it though.

    I bought this belt 8 years ago (earlier version obvs.) it's been on khakis, jeans, shorts, jean shorts, and overalls in the course of that time and has never let me down. Great belt! Tough as nails. Lasted longer than my marriage did, and is still going. As the buckle slowly wears and is exposing the brass underneath, I am reminded that I too can stand the test of time.     The leather is quite stiff and a bit plasticy or some such thing. I like the black metal buckle. Carhart good quality otherwise. We’ll see how it breaks in.
