Sourdough Waffles With Ballerina Farm

In collaboration with Ballerina Farm, we bring you a new farm to table recipe. Ballerina Farm is owned and operated by Hannah and Daniel Neeleman and their five young children. On the fertile mountain valley of Kamas, Utah, the Neeleman family raises Berkshire pigs and Angus cattle. Hannah and Daniel are city natives turned farmers after living in Brazil for four years and becoming passionate about the country’s productive farming community. After thinking of nothing other than raising pigs and cattle on pasture, they returned to the U.S., bought land, and started Ballerina Farm. From the Neeleman family recipe book to your breakfast table, here is a sourdough waffles recipe.

  • 1–2 cups sourdough or sourdough discard

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons oil or melted butter
  • Dash of salt
