The size was wrong and the color was plum, not grey

I own several Stetson and Resistol Beaver Felt hats. I’ve never owned a Buffalo Fir Felt before but liked the look of this one. The store didn’t have one so I ordered one to be delivered to the store. I’m glad I had it delivered there because I chose the wrong size and it was easy to send back and get a different size at no extra cost. The people at the store were very helpful and made the process easy. As I said I’ve never own a Buffalo Felt before. It’s not as elegant as beaver, however, it seems more rugged and stiff as well as rough. The hat seems very suitable to everyday hard wear. So far, I’m pleased with it for it’s intended purpose. The style fits “cowboy” dress as well as other outdoor clothing.

A legendary hat to be sure! Buffalo Felt with a Bison accented band. Dense felt. Definitely for winter wear. An hour in the summer sun would bake your head. I'm very pleased with my purchase, and Stetson lives up to it's reputation with this offering.

Just purchase the Drifter, and the Sagebrush. The order was placed at Jantzen beach Bootbarn ... Large fit perfect which is 71/4/7 3/8.Sales person on the floor took time and made sure the size was the right fit.... I now own 6 Stetsons....

SUPER VALUE IN A STETSON! EXCELLENT FIT OUT OF THE BOX.

In it’s regular form both front and back are curled downward while both left and right are curled upward, for the most part like there supposed to. At the same time the 2 downward curls are off to the right side. I took it to a Boot Barn to get it reshaped, but there’s No noticeable chang. So I had to purchase a steamer and stiffener to fix it myself.

I returned it at the store, hopefully I got my credit. It was to big front to back.

I bought my hat to keep the sun off of my face and neck. This hat has a good look and the more flattened 3 1/2 inch brim does it's job very well! I own a couple of other Stetsons, so I knew to get a size 7 because my 6 7/8 measured size is not correct. So my hat fits great, looks great, and functions just like the old west hats were meant to!

Purchased this hat because it was exactly what I was looking for. Not too cowboy but still has that style. Very well made and best of all it fit exactly on my head and comfortable. Have had many compliments and people say it looks great on me. Very happy I bought it. I had debated on whether I wanted this one or pay another $75 for the 5X but glad I made the decision for this one.

All I buy is Stetson, so I am familiar with their hats. This one has a different crease and a flatter lay, so it is a nice change from the normal cowboy crease. Quality and workmanship is what you would expect from Stetson.

Ordered this Stetson from Sheplers and received it in a few days. I am most pleased with this hat. It fits well and looks wonderful. Will do me a world of good fly fishing.

Fit was true to size, although definitely not a long oval, which is what I really need. Had to do some steaming and wear it in the rain a bit to get it started toward break-in and conforming to my noggin. Good combination of not-too-big of a hat but has a great old-west look. I've worn it every day since I got it.

This was a gift for a buddy who raised Bison for years. He really likes it. Had his pick of alternates when we had to reorder due to damage. He wanted the Drifter.

The Stetson Drifter 4X Buffalo Fur Felt hat is absolutely perfect! I love the small details, like the leather band that has buffalo hair on the side and front. As soon as I received the hat, I wore it the entire day to break it in. It's so comfortable that, at the end of the day I walked past the mirror and had to do a double-take because I forgot I was wearing it. Yes, it's that comfortable (much more so than a baseball cap). I'm a 7-3/4, so it's difficult to find hats in my size. Boot Barn sent me the wrong color ("beige," when I ordered "stone") ... but I'm glad they made the mistake. The beige is darker than the online photos, and almost has an olive drab hue to it. Boot Barn had extremely fast shipping too - as it arrived much sooner than expected. Overall, extremely pleased!

Great hat -- love Stetsons. A little stiff out of the box but should break in quickly. Color is quite neutral. Sized a bit larger than my other Stetsons.

I love my Stetson Drifter 4X. Not only is this a great looking hat but it is really comfortable to wear all day thanks to the expert custom fitting provided by the folks at Boot Barn. Size wise, I ended up getting a size 1/8 smaller than usual at the suggestion of the sales person and I am glad I did. Everywhere I go, I get compliments on this hat. It happens all the time. Everyone loves the unique band. I have only had the hat a few weeks and haven’t worn it out in bad weather yet so I can’t attest to how it is going to wear over time, but being a Stetson, I am sure it will hold up well. I wish this hat came in more colors. I would get them all.

I love the look and color of this hat. It is a smaller hat and just what I was looking for as I am a woman and like a little smaller hat. However, it states that it is buffalo fur and I was thinking that it would stand up to rain and moisture, but inside the hat it says 100% wool. I will be disappointed if the brim flops down.

Excellent quality - and great look. Very slight upward curl on side edges with the downward shape to front and rear of brim. Sizing was true, but had to have it stretched for the round shape to fit my oval head. This hat will outlast me!

Good hard wearing hat, keeps you cool in the Aussie heat. Hard wearing considering it stood up to a mates pup having a chew. Wrapped with the high quality and durability of that hat. Highly recommend purchase, you wont be disappointed.

Was looking for a hat that didn't appear too "cowboy". It has an Akubra look and a great neutral color. Can highly recommend and Sheplers were great with advice pre-purchase and with the (unused) returns option. Sizing came out right for me.

I have been looking for a Stetson for about a year and settled on this hat. It was a toss up between this hat and the Stetson Carson hat. This one won. The hat fit well and the size was correct. The color was off of what is shown and what I have seen as a Stone color. The hat I received was a more blue/green than shown. Overall for the price and quality a great buy.

Very nice hat looks sharp on anyone. Advice from my experience try hats on in a store first. The sizes are all over the place from each mfg. even in the same company. Because some hats are either kind of oval or round inside and different materials have some give to them. Big shout to Ginger the hat expert at Vestal store for proper fit and exchange. Thanks !!

Stiff as beef jerky but durable. The hat band was poorly "glued" on to the hat. Water runs off well. Good early Spring and Winter lid.Hat is warm and snug fitting.

This hat is very nice! Had mine now for six months and love it. The Africa sun is not for the feint harted and this hat lives up to its name. It is a perfect fit and looks very nice too. My only comment is that when it is realy hot and sweaty outside, the hat tends to fall off while riding my horse. Again, the hat fits perfect its just the leather lining on the inside gets slippery with sweat and it is then when I get de-hatted LOL. Even though this is the case, I will recommend it to anyone interested in this hat! Thanks Stetson and Sheplers.

This was my first online purchase from Sheplers. I very much like thr 4X Stetson Drifter that I purchased. I didn't like that the Shepler's website, after selecting my store, in My town drifted of to ultimately send it to a store 300 miles away, because my selection didn't stick. I wanted the color that the product page showed as Stone to be tan, but it was a darker gray. I can work with the color I got instead of what was represented in the image. The distant store shipped the hat to my store, in My town, so it worked out. I was going to buy a tux from Sheplers, but lost my trust in the function of the website. I already had a gray suit coat so It worked out, and ultimately saved me about $300 on the purchase I would have made. I may try again one day... IDK...

This had looks great--attractive color. It is a cross between an Indiana Jones fedora and western hat. The brim is turned down in the front and back with the sides out flat like a genuine western hat, the had band is a little flimsy--could be wider. Would look great with a native american beaded band, or mexican band, with the knot and tails down the sloping back.Unfortunately, the firm oval shape will not fit to the head--overall the hat is very stiff. Fits better for a person with a blocky head shape, not a head more narrow in the front.

I liked the hat but the crown was too shallow for me. I returned it.

I bought this hat for a winter work hat but it's way too nice for that!! I'll be wearing it for dress for quite awhile. I wanted a buffalo fur hat with great style and found it!!

It is an excellent hat - I am very partial and happy with the Stetson Drifter style. Well made, very good quality. I ordered this on a Friday, delivered on Wednesday the following week. The stone color in the picture is kind of a light color like sand but the hat is actually a dark gray, and with the heavy felt, will make this more of a winter hat. But that gives it it a classy, stylish look - I could wear it with jeans and t-shirt or coat and tie. My head measures 22” so I got a 7-1/8 size and it fits perfect. I am very pleased with it and can recommend it to others.

This lives up to its Stetson name. True to size, firm great feeling buffalo felt, and well constructed all over. Bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loves it. Compliments all around town.

I really like the look of this hat: clearly western, but different from the usual cattleman style, which I also love but have many of already. Great color too: a dark gray, darker than I expected from the online photos. Good quality too, and it fits true to size.

The hat is stiffer than imagined but fits true to size. The store hat steamer was broke so I was unable to have them fit it comfortably to my temples. I like the hat, but it’s definitely not a felt.

We like the quality of the hat and the delivery was good.

Super hat - had to buy a hat stretcher and steam it with a tea kettle to fit to my 7 1/2 "long oval" head. I guess that all the Stetsons are made for "round" heads these days and you have to fit them for your particular noggin shape. All is well.

Great service on delivery of this Stetson! Hat is pretty much as advertised and reviewed. Ordered a 7 1/4 as that's the size I have always worn and it fits perfectly. To add my 2 cents about the color, I think stone is inaccurate but the color shown is close...just a bit darker. Great looking hat!

The Stetson Drifter is a beautiful and well made western hat. I ordered size 6 7/8 and the fit is perfect, except for one thing. I have two Cochlear hearing processors and the hat pushes them off of my head. I am going to take the hat back to Boot Barn and see if they can form two spaces for the aides. It is truly an awesome hat! I swear, I hear The Good, The Bad and The Ugly every time I put it on.

I really like my new Stetson Drifter. It definitely would’ve received 5 stars had the front pinch not been slightly off. I didn’t really notice it at first (nor has anyone else), but after looking more closely in the mirror, it is off a bit. Slight enough that it shouldn’t dissuade anyone from buying one. The delivery from Shepler’s was much faster than expected. Will definitely do business with them again.

Stetson quality, this hat is a little lower profile that some of my others. Slightly narrower brim make this a pleasure to wear.

Very nice hat, but I bought my normal size and it was too big. Also, being on the shorter size 5’6”, the style was not good for me (looked like I could swim in the hat). I reshaped it and it looks much better now

........and could only find big brimmed monsters. FINALLY a stylish scaled down version that looks great on a woman. Colour is more grey than taupe. Lovely interior finish. The buffalo felt is more coarse and the hat more stiff than my other fur felt hat so I'm going to have to give the hat a bit of a stretch to get the exact fit I need rather than relying on the "give" of the sides. Style is reminiscent of an Aussie. This is definitely going to be my main hat for roundups.

I recieved my hat on time and it was well packaged. The hat is well made and should last. It is stiff and will require a break in period, but overall its a really nice hat. My only complaint is the quality control that allowed this hat to be shipped. I thought it was a second when i put the hat on and noticed the pinch front doesn't line up with the front of the brim. Its offset and is very obvious. I was going to return it, but figured its a knock around hat with a little more character, and I didn't want to hastle the return since the hat is a nice fit. This is my 5th stetson in 25 years. I still have the other 4. I would recommend this hat...m.

Arrived in a scratched state, NOT in it's stetson box, but a generic Bootbarn box, obviously worn. Returned to local BB, I don't want to order and pay for NEW items only to receive preworn and damaged

Great for sun or rain and will stay on in high wind...now don't get me wrong,if I were on a horse and moving I"d add a tiedown but in 20mph gusts it doesn"t move....very satisfied

Nice hat. Fits good but like all structured hats will need several weeks of wearing to fit perfectly. The color is not beige nor is it stone. It is a mix of the two colors. It is more dark grey but it has a brown tint depending on the light. With that being said I am happy with the color.

As I said before, I'm not a Cowboy, But I wanted a HAT...not another cap. My father-in-law is a "REAL COWBOY" and he turned me on to a "REAL HAT" My new Stetson Drifter is just the answer for me. Looks Great, Feels Great, Fits Great...I LOVE IT..

I love the Drifter style hat. My problem is. I ordered a Stone color hat, They sent me a Beige color.

Love this Stetson hat from Boot Barn, but the hat is depicted in brown or tan and if you purchase this hat based on the photo you will be getting a different colored Stetson Hat. When it arrived the color was gray in nature. The shape was perfect, but the color was not what I expected. However, Boot Barn offered to refund my purchase but I chose to keep it because it looked too good to send back.

Love the hat, fit wonderfully on my big pumpkin. Unfortunately arrived damaged in the box. Will update when replacement received.

The hat I ordered was a different color than the one they sent me. Also, the suze said 7 1/8 but it was a 7 since i tried the one in the store and it fit fine and it was also 7 1/8 as was the other hat I ordered that was a similar style. So.I had to buy the store model that countless people had on their head and it was dirty. They did not even brush it before I bought it..Very poor quality. poor color, and poor service.

This is a well-made hat at a reasonable price. True to size if you measure your head properly and durable so far out in the elements. I changed out the hat band for a horsehair hat band to give it a personal touch.

I love this hat. I like a more traditional looking hat, nothing against the hats of today, I just prefer this style. It’s a little smaller, gives better eye protection from the sun and looks awesome. Also keeps my head warm.

It rains an awful lot here in the north-west during the winter, spring and fall; this is my umbrella. Occasionally the sun comes out, on select summer days, and it is very strong; this is my sun screen. A hat for all seasons.

I have a big head and ordered xl size, but turned out too big. I will probably order a smaller size next month when I am back home

This is my first Stetson. It took three tries to get the right fit. I ordered the 7 1/4 first. It was too small for my 59.5 cm head. Sheplers' customer service was nice and helpful in arranging an exchange for a 7 1/2. It arrived and seemed way too big for a just a quarter size difference. The second arrival seemed bit used, as well. The crown bore a big scuff mark. There were other evident wear marks, as well. So I sent it back and reordered the 71/2 thinking I would just stuff felt into the head band for a better fit. For this much money, I wanted to be the one who scuffed it. The customer service rep just as nice as the first one, and again very helpful. If I didn't like the looks of this hat, I might not have tried a third time. I'm glad I did. I mention all this in case it might help another shopper get what they want. The third Drifter I received was true to size and fits great. I now think the second hat that was sent to me was marked with the wrong size, and was really a 7 3/4.. In any case, it all worked out. As for the hat itself, it is nothing less than a first-rate lid. I'm not a cowboy, and this hat doesn't make me out to be a pretend one. It offers rugged, good looks and practical protection against the elements. The color is neutral and goes with anything. I live in the West and spend time outdoors hiking, fishing and photographing. So a solid hat like this is not a luxury. I've tested it in a sustained and gusty Wyoming winds of 20-25+ mph and it stayed on. That's relatively calm for here, though, so I bought a third party stampede string. No use in spending this much money on a good hat only to watch it blow away across a scrub landscape, or into the river. I compared the Drifter to the Australian-made "Territory" hat, which is similar in style. There are a few things I also like about the Territory, but I am completely satisfied with the Drifter and would recommend it to anyone who needs a wide-brim hat for outdoor protection. The Drifter combines high function and great style. Yes, it is stiff out of the box, but softens and breaks in nicely without losing form. This is an excellent American-made product. My girlfriend likes how it looks on me, too.

Having worn Stetson Hats all my life, I am aware of the quality and name brand that Stetson Hats bring to the wearer. Both of my Grandfathers wore Open Road Stetsons when I was a boy and handed them down to me when they bought new hats. The Drifter is no exception, nicely crafted and shaped at a good price. It may be inherited by my granddaughter who at 3 fancies herself a cowgirl in the making. At least I passed her some good genes
