Very comfortable boots
Rob1992
Oct 30, 2017
I bought these boots about 3 weeks ago and they are great boots. I liked the original S2V's, but my feet got too hot in them so I wanted to try the Jungle boot version. The ventilation is great and my feet do not sweat like many other boots. I do not regret purchasing these. They fit true to size and very sturdy lighter weight boot. The tread should get me through some tough terrain.

Solid Hot Weather Boot

Purchased to use in tandem with my garrison boot, and I was definitely pleased with the additional ventilation that this boot affords. Great comfort out of the box and some enhanced mobility with the lighter weight materials and tongue used while still having additional durability from the leather placed in the instep. Solid boot.

Okay boot, poor construction

I bought this boot a few months ago and keep forgetting to leave a review. It was good and comfortable while they lasted, but there were a couple of issues with the boots: first was the weird seam on my left boot where the tongue met the rest of the boot that was larger than on the right boot, this caused pressure and rubbing on my left foot due to the location of it being right under one of the eyelets, second was the fact that I only wore these boots around the office for a month and a seam tore on the right boot making them unserviceable. The right boot was comfortable, but the left was not with that one spot, but when I was able to get that spot to not be as bad, the whole pair was comfortable but I shouldn’t have needed to do that. And like I said the construction was poor if the seam ripped from just office wear in less than 2 months.

Excellent boot for an excellent price. I'm bought these for the desert because the original S2Vs made my feet sweat pretty bad. Don't get me wrong they are excellent boots but they are great for this climate. Anyways, the fit great, can take a beating, and and look good. Not to mention they do keep my feet a lot cooler than the originals.

Disappointed in Quality

I love the way these boots fit, but in less than one me month the canvas material on one boot has already become separated from the leather. Not The quality tha I have come to expect from Rocky over the years. I may understand if these boots hadn’t seen heavy field use, but they have not seen any field use. I have only worn them while working in the office.

I loved the tread and that it was an S2V but the flimsy collar wasn’t what I was looking for, The S2V Model 103 would have been great with the Jungle Boot Tread and Puncture Resistant Footbed!

This is it! They are THE ones...

I received these boots as a gift 7 years ago for my canoe tripping adventures. The are definitely the best boots to traverse the elements for this type of adventure... From mud, water, sand, rocks, vegetation, on any type of terrain. Swamps, lakes, creeks, deserts, rivers, mountains and trails. Swimming, portaging and hicking. You name it , they went through it! They are comfortable and light (won't drag you in the water when swimming). Solid and evacuate the excess of water as advertised. They are starting to show signs of use but I have to admit I'm extremely satisfied with them. I will purchase a new pair without hesitation!

So I bought these boots in early 2020 because I wanted a lightweight boot for doing PT. I actually hated these boots at first lol. They were extremely uncomfortable for me until I broke them in after a 20 mile (10 in morning, 10 in evening, not 20 in a row I’m not a lunatic) ruck. They have been my most comfortable, and most worn boot since then. 2020-2022 was the end of my military service and I wore these boots for I think 17ish jumps, countless rucks and ranges, and a good number of FTX. They have not torn, ripped, or frayed in any significant way. There is one corner of the area the tongue attaches to the front toe area that is a little frayed, and only because I was caught up in some C-Wire, nothing to do with the actual build quality of the boot. I climbed mountains in Alaska, and waded through muck in the Everglades with these bad boys, and besides a few stains and some wear near the heel of the sole they look like they’re maybe 2-3 months old. I’ve put probably a good 1,000 miles on these boots (not including daily wear like if I’m mowing the lawn and walking the dog after it rains etc etc, I’m taking a purely training and hard wear and use) , mostly outdoors, I would estimate 300 or so miles were on asphalt/pavement. They fit my feet like a glove, and I find them more comfortable than almost every pair of actual shoes I own. I just wish they made them in black too, honestly I would buy like six pairs of it wasn’t for the fact that I’m pretty sure my knees will give out before these boots do. Absolute 10/10 purchase, and even if they did get ruined in the future, I wouldn’t buy any other pair except these right here. They do run a little large. I normally wear a 9, sometimes 9.5 in boot brands but I run these at 8.5 and they fit the same way.

Best Boots for Rucking
The Lost LT
Aug 1, 2022
I’ve had my pair for about a year now. As long as they sell these, I’ll never purchase a different pair of boots. These boots fit perfect and are highly functional. However, I will admit it took some time to break them in until they fit the way they do now (~1.5-2 months). Originally they dug into my ankle and caused a great deal of pain around that area. At one point I was considering returning them, but I decided to keep working on them and I’m glad I did. I’ve done 12-mile rucks in these without a single blister or hot spot. Prior to these boots, I would always get hot spots and blisters around mile 3-4. With these boots, I don’t have to use any tape, special socks (just a solid quality pair), or powder to get through long rucks. I’m convinced now that you don’t need any of that with a great pair of boots. They’re also light-weight enough to run in for training exercises without any concerns. I have absolutely no regrets waiting it out. I just wouldn’t recommend them if you need them STAT for an event or school.

I am on my third pair. I have a high arch and wide foot, so fit is brand specific. I absolutely lived in these (2 rotating pairs) for 2 solid years in Afghanistan. I brought them home and wore them out working in muck doing forestry. They survived machine washing to get Afghan moon dust out 2x, chain saw blade bumps (no damage!) and were comfortable and kept my feet healthy. I bought a replacement pair as my daily work boots. I have work all sorts of issue and hiking boots, and these tick all the boxes - and are light, protective, and comfortable.

I am in NRTOC and I wear these with my type III and so far they have been great. Broke in easy and after the second wear was very comfortable. The only reason it is not 5 stars is due to the fact that after a MCMAPs session with the marines they dirtied very easily and it shows on the toes.

I bought a pair of these boots because they were recommended to me, they were extremely expensive and not worth the money. The eyelets on the ankle dug into my ankle bone and by the middle of the day i would be changing boots out because it hurt to walk if i kept them on. By the time i did break them in two months later, they were busting seams and were unserviceable, always heard good praises of the brand, was was sorely disappointed with the product.

I recommend rocky boots for field use because they are tough and durable. The enhanced jungle boot is a well designed boot to replace the older Vietnam style black leather boot. My only complaint is that I got the wrong size.

Rocky had treated me well until these boots. Unlike the standard s2vs, they have a significantly different heel not only in height but also strike. Early into the break in period ruffly about month I had onset continuing heel pain due to negligence of these possibly being not the right boot for me. Result of this is severely bruised heels and lots of doctor visits and couched from running.I would say if u consider buying these, do not buy online cause if u wear them once rocky will not take them due to them being a military commercial boot. I wish I could take this purchase back. I would never had to get a profile for PT if just listened to my body better. Make sure they fit before you commit!!!!!

Would be great if they didn’t blow out
ArmyPerson
Dec 28, 2019
I had a pair of these that blew out on the side of a mountain at Sapper school. The sole just seperated from the rest of the boot. I did love the boot so I went and bought another pair right when I graduated. I just payed for new ones since I didn’t have time to send them in under warranty. Then this new pair blew out under garrison use a few months later in exactly the same way. Instead of sending them in, I wrapped duct tape around the bad boot and used it as an at-home work boot. Unfortunately both pairs lost the left foot.
It’s a shame because these boots are incredibly comfortable and light. But I suppose it’s my fault for not filing a warranty claim the first two times, and here I am about to buy a third pair like a clown. Hoping they can survive my new slower-speed job in the Army because they do still feel great to where all day.

I bought these boots last year, through give and should have posted something then. The stitching busted out of them after wearing them for a month. I wore them everyday. After contacting rocky about the issue, they told me I have to resolve the issue with govx. Govx was able to replace the pair I bought but then the stitching came out of them as well. I eventually replaced these with the SV2s, which I have been wearing for years. I wanted to give these a try but after having issues with two pairs, I decided they aren’t worth it. I go through boots often, due to being rough on them and staining them. I’ll continue to buy rocky boots but will stick with what I know.

I have a very wide forefoot and normal width heels, which makes finding comfortable boots a challenge. Traditional (military) jungle boots are particularly bad for me, but these Rocky's are great. Almost no break in time needed, and they fit me very well. Lightweight, comfortable and quick drying, they seem like perfect jungle boots to me. Just be sure to replace the included insole if you intend to get them wet, as the factory insole absorbs a lot of water. I had to replace mine with Superfeet, so that they would not retain water more than necessary. Seems like a funny oversight for jungle boots, but an easy fix.

The S2V line of boot is by far my favorite boot. I bought the traditional Tan S2Vs 4 years ago when I joined the Army and love them and still plan to keep them for personal use after the tan color is phased out. I purchased the jungle boot variant for an upcoming deployment and went with the same size as my original SV2s and they fit perfect. I could feel as soon as I laced these boots up they were the same as my old boots so I was very pleased especially because of the cost. However after walking around for about 10 minutes I realized there was one major issue, the first hook eyelid on both boots sat right on the inside bone of my ankle and made these painful to wear. I resolved this issue by skipping those eyelids when lacing up my boots. Overall the sole is comfortable and the boot is very light.

Great Boot with a design flaw
Mike8888
Jul 13, 2018
On the right boot, where the leather meets the nylon tongue, the fold plus the eyelet over the inside ankle creates a bulge that when the lace it tightened, it digs into the skin. So, when walking especially in humid and wet jungle environment, that part of the foot will have an open wound rendering the combatant mission incapable. I recommend Rocky eliminate the "fold" by simply sewing the tongue flat.

I purchased a pair of the S2V Tactical boots when I was stationed in Pennsylvania, but when I transferred to Texas I found the boots to be a little to warm for the climate so I searched for a lighter boot to keep my feet cooler and that would still hold up to the quality of my tactical boots. So I did a little research and narrowed my search down between these and the NIKE SFB boots. I ended up purchasing these boots because Rocky uses a higher quality of leather and I noticed many of my fellow Soldier's Nike boots got a weird coloration after getting wet and being in the field for too long. I must say I'm very satisfied with my choice. These boots did initially have a very tight fit on my foot and I was worried I should of gone for the 9.5 wide instead of regular, but after about a week of wearing them they now fit perfectly. So if you buy these prepare for a little longer period of time to break them in than you would expect from a modern boot, but it's all worth it in the end. They are excellent boots to run, ruck, or do any field exercise in. I've used these in multiple training events and they work great. The quality holds up and they do keep your feet dry and cool. Well, as much as you can expect from being in the desert. This is also going to sound a little odd, but I noticed my stride got longer when wearing these boots because they fit so well and I found I wasn't dragging my feet as much as when I walked. So this actually is one of those boots that can increase your performance just by wearing them.
I was kind of skeptical at first to purchase these after seeing the mixed reviews from the previous model, but I must say whatever Rocky changed when they created this updated model made a world of difference. If you purchase these boots they will fit to size so don't buy a size bigger than what you need. If you couple these with a pair of high quality socks instead of the standard issue ones you can't go wrong. If I was Rocky I'd include a pair of their S2V socks with every purchase because you'd never buy another brand of boots or socks again. The only thing I will advice any potential buyer on is that it does take a little bit of time getting used to walking in them because the tread on the bottom is meant for walking around in a jungle environment instead of your normal run of the mil desert boots, but it isn't anything to really complain about it just is an odd sensation at first.Last thing, I know these are a little bit more costly than competition but it is well worth it in the end. Remember you get what you pay for and the value here is plain as day! Bottom line: These are fantastic boots and I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

Heel and toe fit true to Rocky, but top of foot where laces thread create pressure points to the point my foot was going numb during the day. Was very excited to have a rocky that breathed better, but couldn’t stand wearing them for longer than a few minutes at a time.

I got these for a short time in the Marine corps as an "experiment" they where the best boots ive ever had in my life the soles are just so noby they work better in the jungle and mud then any boot I've used there even the lightest boot I've used great airflow and the soles lasted forever I could use them in the jungle, did great in the desert, clearing buildings the there soft enough to make little noise , even light and comfortable enough to run and hike in through it all the bottoms still look almost new. The downsides are the wire mesh around the air holes and heal support in it both after alot of operating broke threw the inner late and caused alot of pain I had to remove it myself after that it was good it also be nice specially since there jungle boots to be able to get them in coyote brown, sage green and maybe other greens

Jul 1, 2018
bought these 2 months ago, and have worn them moderately. out of the box, the leather looked frayed and fuzzy, the boots were the right size and fit well on the sole, but it was almost as if they used too much leather to make the boot, as it was very loose on the foot, and after moderate wear, the leather is so thin and stretched that it folds on itself when worn. got them wet once, and the glue holding the top to the sole came undone, luckily rockies are also sewn on, otherwise this boot would be kia. they lost their color very fast, and now look a dull grey.

I love the rocky S2V boots. So I thought I'd give these a try and see if they would last longer. That did not. Within 2-3 weeks I already had the boots pulling apart. They canvas material was pulling out of the stitching. That is why I returned them.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago. I currently own the S2V normal boots and they are awesome. I thought these would be a step up with a different tread and same comfortablilty but unfortunately they are not. I've only worn 3 times due to feet hurting and the material from the ankle up is not padded and comfortable like the S2V's. When I first wore the S2V boots they were comfortable and did not require any break-in period. I am currently trying to return.

I bought these boots and was initially impressed with them. My feet always sweat in my boots and shoes but not in these. I thought they were perfect. However 3 months into owning them, and only using them occasionally on weekends, one of the seams started to come apart. Then every time wearing them another seam would start to disintegrate. For what I paid I am very disappointed.

Well I've owned many pairs of rocky boots and this is the first pair I'm disappointed with. First shipped with a manufacturer's defect.

I purchased these boots a month ago. I had a pair of the first S2V jungle boots that lasted a while. I enjoyed those, and these are very similar but with many new comfortable features. I prefer the old model's sole, but this new one has great grip. Excellent, rugged boot, great for a variety of climates. Dries quickly as well.

I have had these for about a month and so far they are awesome. Very comfortable right out of the box. The fit was perfect. Only thing at all I can criticize is the laces. I prefer the larger diameter laces, but these thin ones certainly do make it easy to get them on and off rapidly.

Sep 10, 2024
I have had these boots for about one year now, and all I can say they are bad! Compared to the price of this you would think this boot has to be the best boot on the market but no it’s not. If you’re just working in the office these will be fine, but once you do ruck matches or repetitive military drills they start wearing down fast. The stitching on the side of the boots rip very easily, and the material they use on the side of the boot starts coming off looking like the boots has hair. Lastly the boots look saggy from the side. Please don’t waste your money.

Wire mesh breaking apart, puncturing skin
Active Duty Army
Sep 4, 2019
Let me start off by saying this is everything a boot should be. I’ve owned two pairs of these, getting a new set before each deployment. Easily the best boots I’ve owned, even compared to the other S2Vs. Even fit like a glove the first time I tried them on.
However, it doesn’t take long before the wire mesh on the inside breaks apart and starts wearing at the leather on the inside of the boot. This wire will create painful splinters that have gotten stuck in my skin requiring tweezers to pull them out. Not ideal when doing long foot marches or when you’re in a situation that doesn’t allow you to deal with that. Therefore, I’ve resorted to using my Gerber to cut the lining just to pull out the wire mesh. Once that was gone, I’ve never had a problem with these boots. I implore Rocky to take a look at this design flaw and preferably remove the wire mesh for good.
I will also mention that the heel liner isn’t very sturdy either and the plastic heel backing bit caused the heel lining to wear through and caused painful heel injury.
The Army doesn’t mess around when it comes to taking care of their feet.

Flexible but uncomfortable

Aug 14, 2018
I bought this boot before my current deployment and they felt great. They broke in easily and were extremely light and flexible. I wore them for a couple of weeks before leaving without any issues. About 3 weeks ago, the interior area where the leather is sewn together began rubbing on top of my feet area, specifically on the bone. My feet became irritated until my big go started to go numb. I checked the inside of the boot and it irritated at about the first eyeloop and at the interior seam of the leather. Had to order a different pair of boots immediately.

Nov 18, 2018
I waited over a year for this boot to finally come out, only to be disappointed. It is a shadow of the amazing comfort of the S2V. Putting the boots to the test in extended hiking left me with huge blisters. The boots laced up are uncomfortable and do not support ankles well even while standing in formation. Bottom line: stick to the original S2V.

Bought it end of last year in PX. Not heavy use because I just wore it for about 5 month but the shoes started to come apart. Not sure can I send it back to repair because still within 1 year warranty. But the shoes are comfortable during rucking. Good support for the ankle. Just the leather not able to attach the sole/bottom well. And fade to strange color. At first, I am so excited because it is my first ROCKY boot. But now, very disappointed especially the shoes are not cheap. Lost my first impression.

Also, my right boot seems MUCH tighter than my left foot (which I never experienced with my other S2V). sow in the fold as well as lace's loops put pressure on the feet and hurt badly after a while. Sole is comfortable, but thats about it.

I am a missionary in the rural mountains of Northern Honduras. My feet are in love with these boots. Great for the tropical environment and for being on your feet 15+hours a day! I am completely impressed with these boots. I can go through boots fairly quickly but these might be a lifer? God bless Rocky Boots!

Good, but not as good as the original S2V

I have had these boots (the non PR variant) for about 2 years as a National Guard infantryman and a civilian SWAT officer. They are pretty good boots, but not as good as the original S2Vs. I had a pair of original S2Vs in the old desert tan uniform color and they are much more trustworthy on long ruck marches. Sizing is almost identical to the original S2V. If you are debating between the original S2V and this boot for infantry operations, I would stick with the original S2V. Yes, it's heavier but it's a lot better on the feet.
Despite the fact that they are less comfortable than the original S2V, they are just as tough from a durability standpoint. Mine have been through 2 years of very heavy use (including several tough schools) and are just now starting to show signs of wear. You will get your money's worth and it's a pretty good boot, but not as phenomenal as the original S2V in my humble opinion.

ONE problem point

The One problem I find is the part under the laces it could be removed from the boot and then the boot would be better with some of the Australian military boots it has been removed and they are some of the most comfortable boots you can get

I've owned Rocky's for years, whether normal boots or combat boots. I chose to replace my old SV2's with this Jungle version. SO happy with that decision. These are super light & cozy. I did order the wide, as I had done in the past. Wore these all weekend without a problem; easy to break-in. Lot of compliments on them & still felt that I had plenty of ankle support! My new favorites! Keep making these please!

If you are in the Reserves, you know why I bought my own boots. Second pair I own, good fit, comfortable, breathable.

After searching for my do all boot i have finally found it. Ive had everything from the standard s2v to the hunting s2v version to the rocky governor as well as many other brands. I wear boots 365 days a year no matter what, boots are on my feet so i usually order 2 new pairs every year because i am so hard on them. I have never worn out the boot its self, i have only been able to wear out the tread. I am on my feet all day at work, use them for hunting, fishing, hiking and chores around my land. This boot is a true 9/10ths all purpose boot and is on my feet spring, summer and fall. I only switch these out for my s2v jungle hunting boot in winter seasons due to the cold in Minnesota because they are insulated (dont need much cause my feet are always warm). Ordered these and will order nothing else for the rest of my life so please don't ever discontinue this boot and if you do, give a good heads up so i can buy your entire inventory out in my size.
