      Great headgear for those occasions you have to wear a helmet but prefer a hat and its ability to block sun and rain. Combines both into a functional bit of western kit.

      I love my new straw ridesafe hat helmet! It is perfect for spring and summertime riding. I also have a black felt one that I use in the fall and winter. Any time that I ride, I wear a ridesafe hat helmet. Gives me more confidence to know that I am riding safely!

      Found while looking for a helmet option to be used when riding my Lectric XP Trike, wanted the sun protection I’m accustomed to wearing western hats and this fit the bill perfectly. With more protection than standard bicycle helmets it still remains comfortable after fitting per instructions.

      I had the black felt for years and now bought the white straw for summer. If here wete more colors like tan or grey I'd buy them too.

      Wish the helmet part was a little less obvious, I’m sure it will get better. Until then, this is very comfortable, and it’s nice my hat can’t blow off when it gets Wyoming windy! Due to a blood clotting disorder and practicing what I preach to my kid, I have to wear a helmet.

      Ok - I know Resistol says this is for equestrian use only. My wife demands that I wear a bike helmet when I'm out riding but I've always worn a Resistol cowboy hat to keep the sun out of my eyes and provide some rain protection. So the Ridesafe hat is a great compromise. Granted, looks kind of goofy but it provides more head protection that just a straw hat. The stampede strap is great - never have to worry about the hat getting blown off anymore, either. For riding bike trails and canal banks on my 7-speed cruiser, this hat is perfect.

      Love this hat/helmet/sun protection/head protection. It is more comfortable than regular helmets and just as good as a hat.
