I gave this hat as a gift and he loved it. Said it fit great and just what he had been wanting. I have looked at other hats and I chose this one for the price and look. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a hat that is weather resistant and great quality.

The oilskin hat is very nice. I have always liked this style of hat, but could never find one that I could wear out in the rain or snow without damaging it. I'm sure to use it more than my straw or felt hats.

I got it a week ago, and love it, it rain yesterday so I took it for a test, and it work wonderful

I am very please with the look, the fit and construction of this hat and would highly recommend it.

Going by the size chart that was given, I measured 23.5 inches that called for an extra large.It was way too big. I returned it for a large that I know will be perfect. Now speaking of perfect,this hat is just that. It is everything that I expected it to be. Dundee is not going to have anything on me! Most important is the service I recieved and the ease of exchange.These people really are what old time honesty and service is all about. Buy the hat ,YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

Great Hat

The hat was not as pictured. I thought that the hat would be brown as pictured. It was almost black in color. The Medium was slightly too large. Overall the hat was too stiff and had an oily, waxy feel. I returned the hat.

The hat is extremely well made - and I'm thankful that it fits as I have a large head and its always been a problem to find a hat. I was surprised and happy to find that the hat really retains its form- that wide brim is meant to keep rain off your SHOULDERS. When my wife saw what I bought she sent in an order for the same hat in black----------in a smaller size of course.

Great item, works well with the Outback Trading Co. Long Oilskin Duster. Well built, nice material, fits good. Glad I bought it.

Hat fit nicely and the waterproofing held up well, even versus the thyphoon I happened across while overseas. A minor complaint would be the visible stitches keeping the hat band attached.

Not what I am use to, in a western hat But would reorder others.

It gets rather windy, also I wanted a comfortable, stylish, waterproof hat. And I received one of Sheplers best. Thank you Sheplers.

I wear my kodiak oilskin hat all the time, I'm always getting complaments on how cool the hat looks. But that's not why I wear it I wear it because I love this hat it fits great doesn't feel heavy. Cleans up easy. I Love My Kodiak.

Great Hat! I've had many compliments. Already tested in the rain, very waterproof. As with most clothing items, hats are difficult to get in the right size. Mine isn't too bad, feels only slightly large. Size Medium covers many distinct hat sizes.

My 7 3/8 head is upper part of a Large size but hat is still alittle big. Debating sending back for a medium or keeping.

This hat is very well made, looks rich. We purchased for a co-worker who is moving to Australia. She loved it ! Perfect fit (size Medium) and really stylish. I would definitely recommend this product.

Completely waterproof and warm. Love this hat, wore it to Scotland, Wales, and London and was always dry and warm.

I wear the hat while taking my daily wake. I wanted a brim hat for use in rain and snow. The brim is a little wider than I wanted, but it is no problem Very good service.

I have been told that my head shape makes it difficult to fit a hat. This hat fits comfortably and looks really nice. I always thought I wanted a cowboy hat, but the Aussie style was what I really wanted.

Hat and slicker to be used in Wyoming in August. Grandson very happy with the fit and looks. He looks good in it. I'm sure he'll need it.

I have been wearing Outback oilskin hats for over 10 years. I have to buy a new one every few years because I beat the crud out of the latest hats (and then a dog or two squishes it). I ride at a ranch that experiences serious rain for a third of the year. I couldn't do it without an Outback hat.

These hats are sized a little big. I wear a large in other hats but had to return the large in this one. The medium fits snug but right. I also ordered the reproofing cream. This hat is perfect for the rainy cold pacific NW. It keeps the rain off your face and neck with style. I encourage others to buy one as well, but I know they won't. They'll continue to wear stupid ball caps which allow the rain down the back of your coat, in your ears, the sun to burn your neck, and the rain to soak through to your head. Oh well.

Can't beat the features of this hat. True weather warrior. Looks great out on the town, or on the job getting beat up by the real day to day abuse of ranch and farm work. A little warm in the summer, but still an all seasons hat. I keep one in the truck for immediate use and one for dress......hardly wear my Resistols anymore !!!! And the price is spectacular for a hat that never wears out.

I love this hat and I love this style. I have been looking for this style hat for years and they are always $$$. This is a quality product being sold for $ . I took this hat out in the Arizona sun (112*) and I was protected and pleasantly surprised that my head stayed cool. Took it on my hike down into the Grand Canyon and it saved me again from the AZ heat. I am so happy with this purchase and plan to buy a Wool Crushable next. Oh and my ego says I look really awesome! Who doesn't want to be a Cowboy?

Personally, my favorite feature of this hat is its wire brim, which allows the brim to be shaped to my personal preferences and whims. Unlike the floppy oilskin and kinky wire on my other hat, Outback used a substantial wire, and a good heavy oilskin that hasn't creased on mine yet. (Still, do bend slowly and with some care). There were some unexpected differences in my hat. My leather hat band came a faded peachy kind of color, quite unlike the photo. It was certainly made of genuine leather, but I would have much preferred a nice, dark, distressed finish on the leather. Peachy wasn't exactly what I liked or was expecting. However, the leather has improved with time. It is now quite a dark color - perhaps due to a few accidental coatings of Duckback. My hat also arrived looking rather black, but it quickly became a nice dark brown after being exposed awhile to the sun. (You do want to apply DuckBack cream occasionally, to maintain the color and waterproof qualities of your hat.) Another unexpected difference...my hat did not come with either a leather chin cord or a wooden keeper as pictured. Instead, it had a shoestring type cord with a plastic keeper. That was a disappointment - I had looked forward to a genuine leather chin cord. But the "marine-style" cord also included an unexpected, but neat, feature - it looped about the back of the head, allowing the hat to tighten more securely in high winds. Which is a plus, in my mind. Another unexpected feature was that Outback had added a neat little pocket in the hat. For one who loves pockets, that was a nice surprise! (Even if the pocket is a bit tiny to be very practical). Overall, and in spite of the unexpected differences, I can say I have been happy and pleased with my Kodiak. Outback obviously put a lot of effort and design into this product, and you get a quality, well made, (not to mention good looking) hat!
