I was so afraid when ordering these boots because they are my very first pair of real leather cowgirl boots. I usually wear a 7.5 in shoes, I have a foot of normal width, perhaps even a little on the wider side. I just really wanted to get a pair so I went for it! The shipping was very fast and when I opened the box I was afraid because they LOOKED so narrow, but I put on a pair of socks and tried them on and they fit perfectly!!!! It is normal for the heels to slip and for them to feel a little snug around your foot at first but the boot will shape to your feet after a couple days of wear. I love where the boot hits my calf (also they are not TOO wide around the calf so it looks better with dresses and shorts) and the toe of the boot looks perfect because it gives them a more dressy look but while still keeping it casual, they are so cute! The color looks nearly identical to the picture in my opinion. They are super comofortable and I am glad I made the purchase, I know I will be wearing these boots for years to come.

I was scared thinking "what if I don't like them !!! what if the heel is too small and the tip of the boot is weird " But let me tell you, The way it looks in the picture is the way they look !!! I LOVE THEM, specially the price, the size it's very accurate I am a #6 and I ordered a # 6 and it fits perfect. I am happy with my purchase. Ah I almost forget the color it's really nice dark chocolate.

I have been looking for the perfect new pair of cowgirl boots for Fall and Football season - Southern girl here :) I ran across these on Sheplers and was a little hesitant to order online without trying them on, but I ordered them anyway and was blown away of the quality! The leather is sooo silky! You won't want to take these off. I highly recommend these boots and plan on buying them in the tan color as well now!

Very cute, but the toe area is narrow and the area around the heel is uncomfortable. I guess it's the stitching poking into my heels. I would return these, but I already paid for shipping twice.

I've been wearing my old boots for 20+ years, it was time for a new pair! Wasn't sure what size, since my shoes range between 8 and 9s. Used an online foot size guide, took measurements, went with boot size 8, they were perfect. Quality seems great--hope they last 20 yrs!

I love these boots! I originally ordered my usual size - an 8. Had to return them for a 7-1/2, which still feels slightly loose, but I think they will conform to my feet. I'm in the "breaking-in" stage with them and with each wearing, they become more and more comfortable. These are very well-made, and the dark brown color is perfect! I bought my daughters each a pair several years ago, and they still look great! Both say they are the most comfortable boots they own. I did have to order down 1/2 size for them as well.

I have had these boots a few years now and I've *never* once regretted my purchase.
I ordered my regular shoe size (size 8 women's) they were pretty snug when I first got them but, like any good leather should, after you break them it they totally conform to your foot. They are not sloppy on me at all and I can(and have) walked around in the all day with ease.
The stitching has stayed great as well, no pulls or runs. Heels also have worn very well in spite of my bad habit of spinning and turning on them :) .
I use the Scout distressed leather conditioner on my boots to keep the leather in good shape and use a waterproofing spray on them as needed to keep my feet dry.
All in all these are fantastic boots! They are very comfortable and extremely versatile, you can literally wear them anywhere and with anything.
My only wish is that shipping to Canada wasn't as expensive.

These boots rock! They were a little lighter than I expected, but I love them. Very comfortable; very little break in. I typically take a 9 and I probably could have ordered an 8.5 if I really wanted to. I have gotten TONS of compliments on these boots-- also ordered the wrinkled leather black boots and love them too! Absolutely recommend these boots, especially for the price (I typically love Lucchese, but just didn't want to spend the money...glad I didn't!!!)

I LOVE these boots!!! I'd been looking for a pair of new boots online for awhile. I ended up purchasing the Old West Distressed Leather Boots in dark brown and am THRILLED with them!
They were shipped quickly and I received them promptly (sooner than I was expecting, actually#
I love the distressing, which is slight, but will help to hide and scuffs/scratches/etc. when worn. #I also water-proofed mine with a spray as soon as they came#
I was initially worried that they would fit too snugly around my calves, but I have PLENTY of room. #My calf is 14" at the widest part around) In fact, I have enough space to wear a pair of jeans tucked in and will still probably have room to spare.
I usually wear an 8-8.5 in other boots/shoes/heel, depending on the brand, but I got an 8.5 in these boots. I'm glad I did becuase they fit well with a pair of socks. (Sheplars also sends a sheet explaining "how the boot should fit" with your purchase. (Cowboy boots should allow your heel to 'slip' and be a more snug fit across the top arch of your foot)
If you're considering buying these boots, do it!! You won't be sorry!! :)
I can't wait to wear mine out on the town, to upcoming concerts and just in general!! I'm planning on wearing them mostly with shorts/dresses, but know they'll look awesome with jeans too, either tucked in, or over!!

I actually got these same boots in a little store near my house about two years ago and LOVE them. I probably wear them 3-4 days out of the week and I never have a problem with them hurting (I go to school in the mountains and the hills and all don't bother me wearing these.) The color is a great match to the picture online. I am so happy that I found them online because I am going to get another pair in the tan color. I definitely recommend these boots! They do run a little narrow which I don't mind as I have a very skinny foot so that is something to keep in mind.

I highly recommend these boots. They are already broken in and feel so soft and look amazing! You can't beat the price so so cheap. For the Aussie buyer I am normally a aus ladies size 10 shoe but after reading reviews and previously had a pair of western boots which were a US and AU 91/2, I decided to purchase the US 91/2 B even though the boot conversion says I should be a US 11. The 91/2B fit fantastic and on the snug side so I probably could have ordered a size US 10 which would be perfect but am still happy with this fit. I hope this helps you all. Again I highly recommend these boots!!!!!!!

They have softened up a little, and I'm hoping with persistence they will give more, but at the moment, I can't wear them longer than 20 minutes.i ordered a size bigger than what I should have been too. They break in easily and are so comfortable even after a long day, I sometimes leave them on when i get home. i have them in the natural color as well. I finally received my new boots after waiting about three weeks for them to be delivered. As mentioned in other reviews, they are not as shiny as the picture. That is a great thing for me as I was going for the distressed look, but wanted a darker brown. The footbed is very comfortable and the leather broke in easily. This is because the leather is somewhat thin, but what do you expect for the price of these boots? What I am disappointed about is that the stitching on the inside sticks out, is rough and will rub against your ankles. I don't understand why they don't line them to cover the stitching. They are OK, but they are not high end boots with a high end price and I suppose that is the answer to that question. If you are a dancer, I would expect the abrasive stitching to quickly give you a blister. Thick socks may remedy this, but I prefer thinner socks and this design oversight is very frustrating to me. I will spend a little more on my next pair to get a better quality, but I love the look of these and will enjoy them.

I had a friend that bought these in the lighter tan in a size 8 tried hers on and thought that they were to big. I loved these dark ones so much I had to have them. This will be my third pair of boots so I went with my normal sizing got the 7 1/2 I could barely get my foot in it. So I did my normal routine with all boots get them wet and walk all day in them. They are perfect now!!! by far my favorite pair!

Great boot ladies. For Australian people reading this review I am typically a 10AUS I read through the other customer reviews from Aus and took a gamble and got a 10US. They are a perfect fit. I have had these boots for 4 years now and im writing this 4 years later to help you all out. I would order the same size US as you are AUS fro Aussie shoppers.
Love these boots, get a lot of comments and can dance all night in them. In 4 years I have had the heel resoled. Cant fault these.

I love them but I had forgotten about the breaking in. ( I don't have the nerve to put my new boots down in a bucket of water) I have a pair almost identical except they are a lighter brown. They are so comfortable now I could probably sleep in them. It's worth the breaking in period. I'll keep sprinkling the baby powder inside and wearing for an hour or two at a time. P.S. My husband asked how many pairs of boots I have........I didn't answer.

These are cute and of good quality for the price. I've got lots of compliments wearing them. I normally wear sz 9 for gum boots and ordered sz 9 for these. They needed quite a bit of break in. Since there is no 9C or 9-wide, to do it again I'd probably order 9.5 instead. The leather is supple and does not look cheap. I've had mine for 6 years. Still holding up well. I apply mink oil and shoe polish from time to time to condition the leather.

She said that they were fantastic and ordered her true size and has had no problem. Thank you these replace her first pair that she was heart broken over loosing. I was looking for some real cowboy boots for a great price and came across these by Old West. I usually wear a size 9 medium width in ALL shoes and decided to go with an 8.5 in these boots. VERY glad that I did. They fit GREAT! The picture is accurate to what they will look like when you get them. I wish they were a little more "distressed" but I think with time and wear that will naturally happen on it's own. They are SUPER comfortable and will look great with jeans, jeggings, skirts, and dresses! I'm attaching a picture of them right when I got them out of the box. I definitely recommend these boots, got them for $99.99 with free shipping! I definitely lucked up! Shepler's ships fast!

I have been shopping for a comfortable cowgirl boot for several years with no success until a friend recommended Sheplers! These are the MOST comfortable boots!! I can wear them all day long as if I were in my jogging shoes. I also get so many compliments on them. I have a slightly narrow foot and these boots are a perfect fit!!! I wasn't sure if I was going to keep them after I tried them on because they were really narrow for my feet. I have been wearing them for small amounts of time to break them in, and every time I put them on they fit better. Note to Australian shoppers - the US and Aust sizes are equivalent due to the generous fit of these shoes.
This boot looks great with jeans and is really comfy. I couldn't find anything similar in shops here in Australia, so now I have a fab pair of boots that everyone keeps complimenting me on. The size is generous - I am an Austalian size 10, so presumably a US size 11 based on normal conversion. But I read other reviews saying the fit is generous, so took a bit of a gamble and ordered the US size 10(max. size they make). The US size 10 fits, if anything I find them roomy and definately need to wear them with socks. Which is really the ideal way to wear them anyway - couldn't be happier!

If you need a good average priced cowboy boot and have LARGE calves, these are the boots for you. I am a petite woman but have larger lower legs. These fit me to perfection. I just slipped um on with bare feet and I am good to go. I think I can likely wear a good sock with them as well. They fit me in the same way a good shoe fits. I do not foresee any great lengthy time breaking them in. They are out of the box perfect. Color is simple but will look great with jeans. I ordered them on Monday and got them today--Thursday. I have nothing but good things to say about these boots. If you are undecided about a boot to buy on this site, THESE are a good, decent priced boot, made with quality leather. Love um. Exactly what I wanted.

Bought my first pair of cowboy boots for my birthday and I was skeptical ordering online because of the sizing. After hours of in-store research and reading tons of reviews I finally made the purchase, and LOVED them when they arrived. All my worries of buying too small were completely erased. I usually wear a size 6 or 6.5 or even 7 depending on the store but I bought a 5.5 because I heard they run a little bigger.. Well the 5.5 fits me perfectly now they are broken in. Took maybe a week of regular wear to break them in but now they are the most comfortable footwear I own. I wear them constantly.

Love this boot!! It has such a great distressed look right off the bat, and the color is just a pictured.
It fits quite narrow, so if you have wider feet you may want to try it on in stores before hand. I'm usually an 8.5 in most shoes, but in Old West I'm an 8. I have dancer calves and these boots are not tight in that area at all!!

I was a little wary at first (buying shoes from the internet is always a little difficult), but when my boots arrived, I was thrilled when I opened the box. The color was slightly lighter than shown on the picture, but it was still really nice. When I first put them on, they seemed a little too tight, but the note inside the box assured me that they would stretch and form to my foot as I wore them. I've had them for about 2 weeks now, and they have softened and stretched just enough so that they fit as well as my favorite sneakers.

Brought these for my bridesmaids to wear, have had mixed reviews from my bridesmaids with sizing some have been a perfect fit and others too big. Two of my bridesmaids went a half size bigger then there Normal but would recommend to buy the size you wear normally with taking in consideration of you are flat footed or not as this can result in needed the extra half a size.
The design looks the same as what is on the website. Calf size is great it's not skin tight they are not classified as a wide calf but do fit a calf size of 16cms.
Shipping was fast, took a week from ordering to arriving at my residents in Australia.

I bought these boots for my girlfriend...because I liked the way they looked! She loved the look too...although I needed to exchange them because she felt they were a size too big. Size 8's were initially ordered....size 7's are on the way. We'll see...my guess is we'll need to go back to the 8's as this is the first pair of snip toes this lady has ever worn...and she's probably going more by how they look ("long"!) than how they fit/feel. Gotta love cowgirls! Definitely like the product though and definitely recommend it...a high quality boot for a very low price.

These boots run at least half a size too small. The colour was much lighter than the picture and the heels were too low for my liking. I was disappointed with these boots especially as I had to return them via Int'l courier/post.

Have only had these boots for a week and have hardly had them off my feet .. I went with the sizing recommendation of others and bought smaller than I normally would (Im approx a Aus size 8.5/9 so purchased US 9) and they are a perfect fit .. bit loose in the heel at first - but read the boot fit guide 'As you begin wearing your boot, you will find the heel leather will soften, and your boot will then conform to and move with your foot. The slippage will disappear!'. It doesn't take long for them to start wearing in and they are comfortable straight away .. I love them and it definitely wont be the last pair I buy ... shipping was great too (the shipping tracking tool is fantastic) got them in just over a week ....

First off let me tell you about the sizing....I normally wear an 8 in street shoes and sometimes 8.5 in boots. Well after reading a few reviews I figured I should size up. Big mistake! The 8.5 is much too big. I'll prob end up putting insoles and wearing them with socks as I bought them for an event but I'll probably end up getting another pair in a size 8 maybe 7.5 depending on the stretch after wear. I definitely suggest you consider sizing down if your in between sizes.
That being siad, these boots are GREAT for the money. Super comfy and they look very nicely made and sturdy. I'm already considering the lighter color and I'm looking at some black ones!

This is my first pair of cowboy boots and I was really nervous about ordering online and not being able to try them on first. I even placed and order then chickened out and cancelled it before going through with this order! I'm so glad I did though. I read all of the reviews and I am glad I did. They put my mind at ease.
I am a size 6 1/2 and thats what I ordered and they fit perfect. The boot is a little narrow so if you have wider feet I would recommend ordering a half size larger than you normally wear.
One other thing, I hesitated between the lighter brown and the dark brown in this same boot and I'm glad I went with the darker. It is a fair bit lighter than it seemed in the pictures. In the pictures it appears as a chocolate brown and it is actually more of a saddle brown.
Also a note on shipping... I live in Ontario, Canada and these arrived 5 days after purchase... much quicker than expected.
My recommendation... if you're hesitating... stop and BUY THESE boots. I love mine.

These boots look great and feel great without even having put a dent in my wallet! My shoe size ranges from a 7.5 to 8, and I got the smaller of the two, and though I was a bit scared at first (it being the first time I had tried on cowboy boots since I was a little girl), I am glad that I did. They would have molded to my feet fine regardless, but I like a snug fit--and am not used to such a long toe! However, I'm certainly getting used to it--these boots are wonderfully comfortable, and I would definitely encourage all of you who are teetering on the edge to just go for it!

I wanted a comfortable, very dark brown boots with a nice toe appeal at an affordable price and I got it, except it was not as dark and shiny as I thought it would be.I know it said distressed, but I was looking at the picture and thought it was more shiney than it was. I work in an office and I walk a lot, so comfort is nice. I just wish it were a bit more shiny, but I kept them anyways.

This is my first pair of "real" cowboy boots, and I am very pleased. I had concerns about the fit at first as my feet are slightly wide (D) and these are not offered in different widths. These boots do "break in" really well. I just love them! The color and style are perfect, exactly what I was hoping for. The reviews I read about these boots were all very accurate and played a big part in my decision to choose them. So, in the interest of helping the next person: The heels will feel big at first, they might be tight at the ball of your foot initially, but as you wear them they will break in and feel like they were made just for you. I ordered the boots and when they arrived. I was anxious to get them out and look at them. When I did, I noticed that there are two major flaws in the stitching on the upper part of both boots. Also, there was a big hunk of glue on one of them. I thought about returning them, but because it is so close to Christmas, I have to keep them since they are a gift for my daughter and I know I wont get the exchange done through mail soon enough. The boot was not that expensive but $100 isn't too cheap for a messed up pair either. I wouldn't buy from this site again.

I've had these boots in the other brown color for years and they've lasted through a lot! I'm actually getting those fixed and in the meanwhile I ordered these in the darker brown. They fit true to size...they stretch, so don't be afraid if they feel tight. I can wear them all day long...walking NYC all day or at work and around the house all night. Very comfy and stylish. Perfect heel height and not too flashy stitching. Get them now!

I bought these a week ago. I usually wear an 8--I ordered and 8.5. They were so tight across the top, that I could only get them on without socks. The first day I wore them around the house, and of course, I got blisters. The next day, I was able to wear them with very thin socks. The day after that, medium thick socks. And now, blisters gone, I can wear them with boot socks. After a week of wear, they have stretched out and are a comfortable fit. The quality of the boot itself is good. They are not lined, so the inside seams could be a problem in some areas, but no rubbing for me. Overall, I am happy with them and they have found a forever home.

I bought these boots about a month ago and I'm very pleased. I was worried about fit ordering on line. they fit pretty much true to size. The more I wear them the better they feel. The only complaint is I wish there was a lining on the inside of the shaft of the boot. It tends to be scratchy against skin so I try and wear knee socks. It is getting better though the more I wear them. The price was fantastic for a boot that is 100% leather. I love the distressed look of the darker color. I'm very happy with this purchase!
