Ive tried many boots. Cat, Wolverine, Red Wing, Timberland, Justin.. One of my favs was the great oil rigger drill bit wolverine boots with boa lace system. Those can take a beating but they eventually get holes in the sides of the toes and around the steel toe seams. Still they're hard to beat. Ive had Timberland job site boots that were horribly balanced and loppy. you felt like you were wearing clown shoes. These Matterhorn mining boots are true American boots for hellish jobs. These things are tight with just enough room, support your height, ankle, leg and you can move in them. They dont take away balance like many work boots. Spray them with some silicone tent spray for added protection from mud and water and youre ready to go. These things are double and triple seamed in the areas with common fails. These boots can also be serviced. YES you can take them in and get a upgraded sole layer kit along with a new vibrum tread. These are built just a like a cowboy boot with glued and nailed components. Full leather too so even the sides can get repaired. Thats why I bought these. Ive been through 3 pairs of wolverine drill bit boots and they ended up being my favorite until i finally bought Matterhorn. These are made for muddy jobsite projects, walking up scaffolds or man lifts, getting material, back n forth, putting massive wear on your boots. Snow mud rocks everyday. These are way different than your typical $250 boots. Same price range but far better quality AND serviceable by a shoe repair shop. The insoles are even nice with mushy gel pad to help balance your walking. Awesome boots! If you work in mechanical plumbing in massive commercial projects youll love these. If miners can wear them, plumbers will appreciate them. Boots have no chance when youre a commercial plumber.
