    I have to return them as they are to tight. I have a size 36" waist size pair of Levis that are way too loose and these are size 34" waist that are too tight. Otherwise they would be just fine.

    I ordered 2 pairs of 517, Slim, Bootcut jeans. The first ones to come were at least 4 inches too long and improperly labeled. They replaced them ok, but the new arrivals were still way too long. I think they have changed them quite a bit. I wear 517, 34x30, bootcut all the time. These aren't the same size or cut by a long shot.

    I rarely buy clothing on line as I am somewhat of a difficult fit. I'd been looking for Jeans of a dark blue denim athat were'nt so baggy in the seat but not slim cut. I found the 517. I liked them but the y were a little too long and the boot flare was a bit more than i wanted. It was eary to retrun them and I appreciate that very much.

    I got tired of trying the womans jeans they all have stretch in them and the men do not. Now i am happy with tthe 517 infact i picked up 2 pairs and love them both the price was great. I was lucky to get a great deal on the both... will be sure to watch for the next special in my email

    This jean is for the person who likes the slim fit in the legs but flares just enough for a good "boot look"..My only objection is that the rise should be just like the 527. I have a pair of 527's and like the rise in it and I think most other slim guys would like the 517 with the 527 rise or lower waist

    The only long pants my husband of 22 yrs wears are Levi 517. Rigid is his prefernce. You can't buy Rigid 517 jeans in the store anymore. Look. You wont find them anywhere. You'll find stretched, you can find prewashed, rinsed, slim, but no rigid. Not anymore. But I can ALWAYS get them from Sheplers on line. Thanks Sheplers.

    These are way too stiff.  I washed them twice, and used extra softener, and it did not soften them enuf for my husband to enjoy wearing them.  I would never buy another pair of these.  They fit very well, tho.  The button kept unbuttoning as it was just not right.  They were so stiff they pushed the button rather than bending.

    I have been wearing this jean for the past 50 years my mother would by me two pair a year at Christmas time and because we were Military and rather poor they would have to last me for up to two years. They did I continue to ware them today. I have had some of them for up to 10 years The older ones I had over in Okinawa JP and my wife sold them at a flea market, they all had motor cycle oil stains on them and some of them where torn, but the Japanese scarfed them up for double what I paid for them I could not be-leave it GOOD Jeans!!!!

    For whatever reasons, I haven't bought a pair of Levis in a few years. What was I thinking? These 32/32 stonewashed boot cut 517s are clearly superior in every way to other jeans. From quality of material and workmanship to fit and comfort, 517s are exactly as advertised. Better than advertised, really. 517s are snug and comfortable; no bagginess in seat or knees, even after many wearings. If you wear boots with standard 1.5"-2.0" heels, just bump up one size, say from 32/30 to 32/32, and the length should be perfect with the back hem falling about 0.5" from the bottom of your boot heels. The cost of 517s is comfortable, too.

    Purchased a pair of 517s awhile back. Only jean I wore for 40 years. Size was off which I am willing to work around but most disappointed with the elimination of two belt loops. Decided to check back to see if they had reversed the decision. Looks like only five belt loops are still standard. "Every Garment Guaranteed" used to be printed on every belt label and the denim was much thicker. Unfortunately, todays 517s seem to be made more for style and profit and less for durability and ruggedness than the 517s of years ago.

    I've been wearing 517's since they came out, the fit reminds me of dungarees from my Navy days but, they seem to have been replaced by 527's. I can't find 517's anywhere here in Tracy, CA. and I'm not about to order online since the size varies with the country of origin. There is no way 527's will perform as a work jean. The requirements for "Overall Rating" and "Fit" are not very obvious.

    Levi's 517's are getting harder to find in the stores. New models are great but don't shy away from the 517's I've been wearing for over 40 years. Very few jeans come anywhere close to the quality of an old school Levi's 517. Keep it up!

    After almost 60 years of wearing Levi's, I give up. Ordered two pair and they are completely different. One pair is about two inches bigger at the waist. The other pair has one leg considerably longer than the other. Quality control has been a problem with Levi's since the late 1980's. I would pay a lot more if I could buy Levi's with the quality of 40 years ago.

    Levis 517 are a fantastic fit just enought stretch without loosing any shape. Found a pair at a garage sale for work. Fit so good I wanted more, and finally found them at Sheplers. The only place I found them. Plan to order more soon.

    My husband lives in 517's and they're great except for one thing . The belt loops pull out on the bottom. The way some of them are attached the bottom stitching pulls thru on one of the loops on the back to the right or left of center . I took a pair out of the laundry today and another has pulled thru leaving a hole where it was stitched on - and these jeans still look almost new . This seems to be happening with almost every pair. Doesn't anyone else have this problem ?

    Bought two pairs of Levis 517 Jeans - Slim Fit Boot Cut Item: 010517. The one manufactured in Nicaragua is a darker, dull blue color. The one manufactured in Mexico is the regular Levi’s lively shade of dark blue.

    These are bell bottoms. Not boot cut jeans. Does levis know what boots are. I am a diehard fan of 512's for work, but these pants suck! These are juggalo pants. For jeans for my boots I switched to wranglers which I hate because I LOVE Levi's! Do yall have 512 fit with 16 inch opening jeans? If so, I'll buy those in a heartbeat!

    Purchased 4 pairs Levi's for my son-in-law. 2 pair for his birthday and 2 pair for Christmas. He won't wear any other brand. I was very happy with the gift wrap (bag) that I bought. It would have been nice if tissue paper was tucked inside bag to keep from getting torn. All in all great delivery time...very pleased.

    I've worn 517 Levi's since Levi stopped making Big Bell's. The fit is perfect for my shape, they are really durable and the pockets are deep enough that nothing falls out. I definitely wish that this style wasn't being discontinued.

    I lifeguard, rescue dive and also dive ship wrecks. There are times when just 'suiting up' can be hazardous and time consuming. And there are times when you just want to swim! I buy 517 Red Tabs, Rigid from Shepler's, to a 14 inch leg opening and wear them swimming and diving. I also buy them 2 inches longer because they shrink from being in water so much - and they draw up and mold to my body better than any wet suit I've ever worn. Add a rash guard top and you have great dive skins that go from land to water in an instant for a rescue. Let them dry-on and they become your second skin, look awesome and make you feel great.
