Levis are really hard to beat and once you find your fit, at least for me, it's hard to change. I have always found women's jeans ill fitting. Pockets are shallow waist is narrow, hips wide ( great if you have a wasp waist/bottom combination )the material is not as sturdy, I could go on. One day I tried the 511 stretch and the fit for me is spot on. No left over material, nice pockets not baggie, but not tight. They sit just slightly below the belly button but not too low.I get asked by other women what jeans I'm wearing, and fairly often. I work for a fairly high end store where we can't wear other brand jeans so I have taken one pair and removed the Levis markings just so I can still wear my Levis at my work place. The women get very disappointed when I tell them we don't sell these jeans. So if you can't find your fit elsewhere I would try these because they work great for me. Plus dark hollow wears nice and always looks nice. I wash them inside out in cold water, no soap, not often, hang to dry and iron inside out. This way they don't fade and look great. size 30 x30

I've returned four pairs of 511 slim fit jeans since January because of the inconsistent fit and colors. They're either two inches too short, extremely tight, or the color/wash doesn't match the photos online.

I wear a 34 waist and ordered a 34 waist thinking it would be the same. The jeans finally came after over two weeks and they might have been a 30. Max. Awful experience.

I purchased a pair of Levi's 511 jeans to go with the 4 other pairs I have in the same size. The new pair was easily 2 inches longer than expected and was nowhere close to fitting. I'll need to return them but the closest store is 30 minutes away.

I bought two pairs of the 511 jeans for my son that were the EXACT same size yet 2 different colors. These jeans were soooooo different! One pair was super long and the other super tight in the waist. This was SUPER weird!

I have other pairs of 511s but these are not the same. They feel like some kind of old man pants you find at Good Will. Not only that, but you also get a super ugly brown patch on the back. These pants are gross.

Unfortunately, soon as I put them on, then grabbed the sides to pull them up, the belt loop on the left side tore right open. It appears as if there was no stitching done to keep it in to begin with. Pretty disappointing, but it’s ok. The rest is just how I wanted it.

These pants look great and are made very well. They are a little too tight around the whole leg, they fit me like skinny jeans, not slim. I have worn them 2x already and it gets a bit better, but still too tight around my thick thights. Which are semi muscular with fat. I am considered overweight and 36in fit fine aournd the waist and length 30in fit fine too, just tight on the leg.

Love the color of the jeans these are my favorite pair of Levis. I already bought 5 pairs love the dark color goes with everything. When you first get them yes they are a little tight but they will start to loosen up so don't worry they are amazing!

All the edges of the folds were gray with dust/dirt. I had to bleach them before wearing. They bleached nicely. Was surprised they would be shipped in that condition.

I love the look of the jeans and know they would look great for years as they fade. However, they were super tight on me. I've owned around 20 pairs of the 511 and 513, and bought these in my usual size 31x30, and they were very tight everywhere (especially the crotch). I couldn't even button them. I'm 5'10.5", 165 lbs., with a slim build.

First time I put them on I spilled some sauce on my leg. Wiped it of softly with a damp napkin and now have a permanent light mark on my new jeans. To be clear, mark is from the wiping off, not a stain from the sauce I spilled. Otherwise great.

Waist Sizing is small. I wear 32 in all my Levi’s jeans (510 and 511) but this model fits tighter and is not that stretchy.

This was the pair that was real garbage. It was awesome before I washed it one time in cold water and it became unwearable spandex pants. Plasticky and disgusting. I stick to my 501s now that they have been through the wash for 2 years. Cotton jeans are way better.

I wear a size 29 in regular 501's. Tried these 511's on in the store and tried on size 29, 30, and 31. 31 fit great. and I'm a slim dude. Someone at levis should rethink the way you size these pants. Anyway these fit more like a slim, straight, more than a skinny. This is the perfect levi slim straight. Most certainly look into getting another pair.

The jeans were a nice comfortable fit and had a nice worn in look, without over doing it. The only negative thing, which was such a small thing, it didn't turn me off much was that the leather badge on the back of the jeans was wrinkled on both pairs of jeans I received. Though, looking how they were similarly wrinkled, it looks like it may have been on purpose to add to the distress, however if I had a choice, I would rather those be a bit less 'broken in'.

I recently purchased a pair of the Levis 511 Skinny jeans in Rigid Dragon in size 32 X 32. I have between a 33 and 34 in. waist and sized down to keep these jeans tight, which is the way I like wearing them. I also have the Levis 510 Super Skinny jeans in Rigid Tumble in size 32 X 32, which are even tighter and form fit like a second skin. As expected, the 511s aren't as tight, espcially in the leg and thigh, but are nice and snug and form fitting enough in the crotch and seat. There is enough stretch in the demin/elastane fabric to make these jeans comfortable to wear and the waistband insn't constricting. I lke the way these jeans fit and feel with the low rise and the way they also form fit, especially in the front crotch and upper thigh areas. As they wear, they will develop whiskers and lighter areas accenting the bulge of my profile, which is more pronounced and noticeable than when I wear the the 510s. When I have worn these jeans, I've noticed that the gazes of some people goes immediately to below the waistband. I'd recommend these particular 511 jeans as well as the 510s in Rigid Tumble for those who like wearing their jeans tight and form fitting to some degree. The rigid stretch style fabric will eventually wear naturally and form light areas and whiskers around their profile contours.

These fit my so pretty well and are true to size. They are skinnier than they seem especially if you have muscular legs but the stretch gives some much needed extra space. They are a good fit if you don't want to go too skinny, but want a fitted/tapered look. The one downfall is that they are very prone to lint, so if you have a pet chances are you will NEED to invest in some lint rollers.

Stylish khaki jeans made of good quality material. These are proper 511s, slim as they should be. Can either be used at the office paired with a shirt or more casually with sweater or t shirt. These just work. Same goes for colour Black Indigo which are also this kind of slim stylish khaki Jeans made of good quality material. Note: Reading reviews about 511s without knowing to which colour the reviewer is referring to is pretty much useless info because 511s differ according to colours, both in terms of slimness and materials.

Taking the advice of another review I went from my size 34 x 30 to 33 x 30.. This was a much better fit. Next pair I purchase will be 33 x 32. It appears I need more length with a smaller size. Levi does not have 33 x 31 so I will go with the 33 x 32

I wear a 34x34 in every major brand name jean I have ever purchased. I ordered just such a size in the RIGID DRAGON and awaited there arrival anxiously. When they finally came I could barely get my legs in them much less even get them up over my hips. I sent them back immediately. SO DISAPOINTED. Fool I may be, but I may try one more pair just because I have always had good luck with the Levi brand aside from this experience.

The sizing is totally unreliable. Levi's is not a well run company. I will not buy their poor-quality jeans ever again. I bought 2 pairs of 511s online, one fit very small and way too tight, the other fit very large, and saggy in the crotch area. Why call the style 511 if 511 has so many different fits? Buying these low quality Levi's jeans online is gambling. You will probably lose. Now I have to do the arduous task of shipping these jeans back for refund

I bought these jeans a couple of weeks ago and am very happy with the sizing, fit and construction. There were shipping and delivery issues, but understandable given the current Coronavirus situation. I’m 6’2” and 200 lbs and bought size 34-34 (my usual size) and they fit great. There is also a bit of a “stretchy” feel to them which makes them very comfortable.

The material is soft and has the signature Levi patch and tag. The fit is slim as advertised and looks pretty good with polos, button up shirts or casual sweatshirts. The pants are multi useful and can be business casual or dressed down with sneakers and a hoodie. It’s slim, but has just the right amount of space to not constrict movement. Definitely not your usual Levi pants. I definitely would get this in another color. Good job Levi’s for expanding your styles!

I have found 511’s to be my perfect pant, no matter which color, style, or version. They are slim but not tight, comfortably loose but not baggy. The sit on my hips and make my butt and legs look great. I personally always buy a longer leg and then cut off 2 inches so that the pant sits right over sneakers, feels great with boots, and because the fringes look really cool. My last pair lived for 4 years before they wore away too much in my crotch and knees. BUT, as these jeans age, the wear patterns and fading look so awesome and lived in. Most comfortable jeans ever.

I've been buying/wearing 511's since they came out. The pockets are smaller now. I have a Note8 with a wallet case, and now I can barely fix my phone in the pocket anymore. Still great otherwise. Long lasting still.

This is my second pair of pants I've ordered online, as opposed to a retail shop. Both pairs from the website are noticeably longer than the pairs I buy in retail stores. Why are the measurements so off? They are at least 1-1.5 inches longer, and I've had to cuff the pants at the bottom. My measurements are 31x30.

I got the Olive / Khaki color, definitely not khaki though it's like an olive / army fatigue dark brown. But it's kinda perfect cause it goes with almost anything, demin shirts, t shirts, dress shirts. They're a tough canvas-y material, but thin, and they stretch nicely where you need them too. They already feel softer after a couple days of breaking in. Fit is great, exactly what I'd expect from the 511s, though maybe slightly longer than usual.

These are maybe the best jeans I've ever purchased. They are high quality enough to be my "nice" jeans, and durable enough to be everyday jeans. Very fairly priced for the quality selvedge denim. I would purchase these once a year in multiple colors, but much to my dismay I came back and they seem to be discontinued??

I own multiple pairs of 511s and this pair is by far the worst. The sizing has never been consistent across each pair but this is the worst example. The color is a few shades lighter than advertised with a bootcut type leg opening. This will be the last pair I buy.

I've been searching for a pair of selvedge jeans that fits me perfectly and this pair has come the closest. "Rigid Urn" is a nicely fitting name for these because the denim is of course, rigid. After a couple weeks of wear they have become very comfortable and still feel tough and well made. After wearing these for about 3 months fairly regularly I'm noticing beautiful fading at the knees and I'm looking forward to seeing how they progress with additional wear.

Got these about two weeks ago and have worn them nearly every day since. They are just the perfect amount of tight for me where they are not tight against my skin but not baggy enough to at any given point venture more than an inch and a half from my legs. They are noticeably stretchy when I bend my knees and such without feeling like I am wearing spandex. If they had them in a wide wale corduroy it would make my day. But I am more than happy with black denim.

Great wash (very dark blue) and fantastic fit for those who want a tight-fitting skinny that's still got a hair of breathing room. NOTE: Whether these are actually selvedge denim or not, they behave like it. Rigid and fitted, they will stretch with wear to conform to your body's shape. Follow the instructions on the denim, not other reviews. Buy your true size and wait for at least a couple months of wear before washing. You won't regret it!

I usually have trouble finding my size in the store. So when I saw they had my 31x34s I doubled up. The material still feels Levi’s tough but also with the feel That a far pricer brand would provide. Levi’s only for me from here on out.

Not being tall (nor short, mind you, which would not be a problem), I find the slim fit most "flattering", and, as Levi's is still, I believe, the "gold standard", the quality is excellent. The 511s are vert comfortable--one does feel the stretch, slightly--but you should be aware that they sit quite low, so expect an adjustment/"pull-up" every now and again.

I think they need to improve the flex category of the pants. I don't know if it's just cuz it's flex in their thinner but the pockets corner pockets always get holes where they meet to the pant. It seems like almost every time we get a pair overtime that's what's happening.

I read a lot of these reviews before purchasing and went the standard 34x34 despite the conflicting size reports. Compared to the 511 commuters, 511 made in the USA, and another 511 pair that I own, these were falling off my waist whereas those are just right even without a belt (and the commuters are made with 2% elastane versus the 1% in these). For those teetering on the edge, size down.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great wash and fit. As you can see, they’re comfortable enough to play with puppies on the ground, so they’re a win for me. The sizing is pretty much spot on. They loosen a bit as you wear them (as expected) so definitely don’t size up!

Excellent fit for tall and slim humans. Would have enjoyed fewer loose threads and far fewer labels attached to the pants every which way. Took me 10 minutes to remove all that from 3 pairs.

I love these jeans. I am a chick and these jeans (even though they are for men) fit great. The only problem is it is next to impossible to find them in 30x34. Levi's made this size before and has now stopped. Why? I really need a 30x36 but I know that's just a dream.

I have worn 501s for 60 years., and was amazed how the same size fit the same way every pair. About 5 years ago, I transitioned to 511s and I have purchased no fewer than 20-25 pair. I have had to return more than half because they were either too long or too wide or too loose. (all the same sizes 32x29). Of those I didn't return, I wear them but they don't all fit the same and inertia has prevented me from returning even those. This is just super surprising, given the value and prestige Levis enjoyed for so many years.

The jeans feel very soft and comfortable and give me a perfect fit. I particularly like the very trim look of these jeans. They have the traditional styling that has made Levi's the best and most recognized brand in the world. These jeans are a great choice for anyone like me who wear their jeans a la natural.

Haven't had to buy new 511s in a couple years.. they used to fit a little more snug and have almost-too-small pockets, but the new cut, fit and pockets are amazing. The fabric's insanely soft and they barely fit like skinny jeans — soooo comfortable but look perfect. Definitely my favorite jeans. (Side note: also bought 510s and am pleased to say the same thing — awesome fabric, perfect pockets, just-right stretch. Nailed it, Levi's!)

First time trying the 511 fit after being a diehard 514 wearer... all I have to say is that these are awesome. Pretty similar fit to the 514s at the top, nice tight taper at the bottom. The stretch is nice, 36 waist was a little bigger than usual but nothing a belt can't fix. Love the color, they look sleek and sharp and go well with anything from a t-shirt to something dressy-casual. I will be purchasing more 511s in the future.

looks neat. fits right. not too skinny. feels comfortable. Material: not too thick, not too thin Criticisms: Black denim shows fuzzies unidentifiables...(sweater lint, crumbs, dandruff, etc.) Wash method: i prefer not to and just spot clean. alternative wash methods: wash and hang dry keep it simple.

Ordered 34X34; I am 6'2", 185lb muscular build. Love Levi's 511. Although I really liked the wash of these jeans, they ran a little small and gave little stretch. However, when my wife washed and machine dried them, they LITERALLY SHRUNK TO ~30" waist! (four sizes smaller!) I could not believe how much they shrunk! Fair warning to anyone thinking of purchasing this—DO NOT MACHINE DRY. I've found a general inconsistency with the fit Levi's 511 jeans from one pair to another.

Just purchased. Materials feels about 13 ounces. Fit Is slim in seat and thighs, but compared to my 501 selvedge jeans, they are nearly the same in the thighs. The seat is tighter than my 501s, but will all stretch out with wear. Slight taper. Fit reminds me of Unbranded UB101 up top and the UB201 taper. The measurements are spot on.

I've worn the same size Levi's in both denim and these twill pants for years. Recently I've reordered new pants the exact same size but they are now much bigger and baggier. It makes me wonder if Levi's have changed their fit for the 511? I'm considering going down a size but not sure if it's worth it.

I am always happy when I buy these pants. The only problem I have with them is they get holes in the crotch on either side of the inseam after about a year or year and a half of wear. Other than that these are an excellent pair of pants.

Love the 511 line..fit is modern but not too tight...I do still love the 510s as well......I wont buy 501s because the fit has shifted alot over time..its gotten too loose and ill fitting. I liked the fit of 501s in the 1970s till about 1986 or so..after that the pattern changed and still remains ill fitting.

I like the 511 fit a lot. It’s slim fitting and stylish. Very much like 7 For All Mankind jeans. I also like Levi’s size consistency. Once you find a pair of jeans you like, you can keep buying them online without much concern for fit. This pair has a nice wash.

I should have gone to this website a long time ago! I always buy my pants 30X32 but they always feel short on me. Stores around here do not carry 30X34 but this website does! I’m a 25 year old woman and I’ve been searching for a sturdy pair of jeans for forever with no luck. I bought these without realizing they were intended for men but who cares! I love them. 30/32 is about a standard woman’s 8/10. They gap a little on the waistband in the back, but no more than women’s jeans do. Also the legs are fitted enough to fit into boots but not so skinny that you look like you have carrot legs. And having actual pockets is awesome.

Buy these pants! I use the word "pants" rather than "jeans" to describe these pants. This is not a bad thing, as the material is more a chino type material than denim. I bought the black, which is super dark and (I feel) dressy. The pant fits true to size, as I am 5'9" / 140 Lbs ( I bought & wear size 30 / 30). The slim fit is tapered but not too skinny. I hope this helps. Enjoy these pants!

I'm not sure why Levi's doesn't mention this anywhere on the website, but their black denim ALWAYS runs big. I sized down two inches from what I usually wear in their 511s and I could still possibly go smaller. These will work for me but they could be better. 511s seem to be running wider from the knee to the ankle these days, which goes against the current trends. It's an OK fit if you're wearing boots, but looks sloppy cuffed with sneakers. I might try the 512 in the future, or just look for a brand with more modern styling.

Instructions said "Wear as long as possible before washing". I should have taken their advice, because the jeans REALLY SHRUNK! I would say, at least a full size! Turned inside out, and washed cold, gentle cycle. OH WELL!

Great jeans. First pair of Levi's I've had in years. These are the most true to fit jeans I've owned in recent years. Look great and super comfy. Just be careful on colors since some are tough to tell if you buy online. My one complaint would be the show shipping service - it took a while to get them for something that showed "in stock".

about size issues, before I bought this one, I had 2 other 511s, one is weathered one finish, another one is clean dark finish, compared with them, this one is a little bit larger than wheathered one and almost the same with clean dark. the reasons they have not the same fittings are in part whether it contains spandex and in part how thick their fabrics are. the outfirs are similar with others. this one is quite sticky for dirts, I know it's black one so dirts look more clear on it..but I'm not saying this. compared with other black jeans I had, it especially fix more dirts. nevertheless it has some cons, due to it is 511, it has a nice outfit. if you want unstressful allround black jeans it's not the one you wish.

The weight of this denim is paper thin, they just feel so cheap. The styling and color are great, but the stretch fabric feels like it stretches out and doesn't stretch back. They just don't 'feel' like a pair of jeans. Disappointing; will stick to selvedge denim.

These are my 'protective' bicycle pants. For everyday riding. Slim at the ankle keeps them out of harm's way. The bit of stretch helps with the constant flexing.

I own a pair of these from about 3 years ago and they were my favorite pants of all time. As they finally wore out I decided i could log in here and buy the exact same pair. Something has changed in the 511s over the years. These pants were baggy, and saggy all over. I sent them back for some 510s instead. Hopefully those will fit a bit better.

I'm 5'11 and 175 lbs. I bought 34x30, as those are my exact measurements, and they fit perfect. The model doesn't do these justice. If you wear 511s and don't need to utilize the stretch material...just true fitting...these kill it!! I wish they made them in Cone Mills Indigo!! Overall, I'm very picky when it comes to denim. I own APC, Tom Ford, Diesel etc. THESE are not your typical Levis... they are comparable to the USA Cone Mills 501s in quality. I'm going to wear them without washing and then soak them with Woolite when needed. Not tight or loose anywhere. They look like a tailored slim fit. PLEASE MAKE THEM FROM CONE MILLS INDIGO DENIM HERE IN THE USA...AND I'LL PAY DOUBLE THE PRICE FOR THE NEXT PAIR!!!

This Jean perfectly falls between being a really tight slim fit and being a loose slim fit. It sticks to the thighs in a comfortable way and tapers down from the knee just about the right way so that it doesn’t give away my stem/stick legs. If you’re a person with good thighs and stick legs, this is your Jean.

I'm 5'10" and 165lbs. I bought these in a 33x30, and I've been wearing them almost every day since they arrived. I normally buy the 510's (skinny), but I really wanted this color so I decided to take a chance. I'm really glad I did! In my opinion, they fit almost exactly the same as the skinny fit, with just slightly more room in the calf and leg opening. The material is different from some of the other pairs of Levi jeans I've purchased. It's a little thinner with more structure than previous purchases, almost like a waxed canvas. It looks much more polished than a "soft" denim.

These jeans are VERY tight and stretchy and the legs a bit short. In my case I'm 6" and weight 158, and have always used 32W-32L and the legs are a bit short and the waist a bit loose. Anyways, the quality looks good.

I already own a LOT of 511 jeans. I wear the commuters to work & the black commuter & black stretch for going out. The black stretch I wear one size smaller. The black commuters I bought the same size as my standard commuters & they are taking awhile to stretch out. So when these dragon 511s came on sale I thought I'd try them. The reviews said they ran small & to buy one size up from the commuter. And I thought about the black commuters which are too tight for work AND I was buying these dragon's to wear to work so I bought one size up. At first I thought I did the right thing but on day 3 I realized that these were stretching out MUCH faster than the black commuters. Next time I'll buy the same size I wear in commuters. I don't mind having jeans that are slightly baggy. I love the vinegar smell, the color, the feel of these jeans. Next time I'm getting the same size I wear in commuters!

The jeans are in great condition and I have worn them daily for almost a month. The only issue is that they run a little tight through the top of the thighs and the groin. The waste and lower legs fit according to size.

At first I made the mistake of getting these a size smaller than I would normally wear because other Levi's I've had in the past will stretch out a bit. But, just be aware that these will fit true to size and they won't stretch out much at all. When I got the size I normally wear on my second pair, they were perfect. Very dark, clean, and fit the way Levi's should. I'll probably buy them again whenever the ones I have wear out or fade.

Unfortunately sizing is consistent with Levi’s and this pair was no different. The length ran long and the finish is an odd semi-waxed denim appearance. The finish left some odd crinkle/rouching effect near the front pockets

The fit and color are on point with the “New Khaki” but the feel and sound of the material seems cheap. I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s almost like a waxy kind of feel. Because of this every step I take sounds like I’m rubbing 2 pieces of paper together. I have 5 other pairs of Levi’s 511’s and none of them have this going on. Also sent them through the wash to see if they would soften up but that did not work. The denim is advertised as being 98.5% cotton but I’m wondering if that’s wrong. Sorry Levi’s but I am not happy with this purchase.

My favorite pair of jeans. I normally wear and bought a 32W but the stretch gives so that I have to wear a belt. Next pair will be a size down (31W). Other than that, I love 'em! Most comfortable pair I've owned from any jean manufacturer. And if you wash these suckers inside out, the color will last a very long time.

I have a couple pair of 513s that are getting old and need to be replaced soon. Wasn't sure if the 511s would fit right, but they do and I love them. Heavyweight denim, no stretchiness, just good old rugged cotton denim. Nice Levis fit that feels like my favorite Levis from years ago. The Carry On finish is nicely faded to a beautiful blue.

the 36" inseam is perfect (finding jeans this long isn't easy), the stretch material is very comfortable (mas maneuverability), the jeans look great (not too tight not too loose). my only complaint is that they don't come in a 30" x 36". while the 32" x 36" fits ok, there's quite a bit of excess around the waist (they still look awesome).

Testing fabrics is a science, you should know exactly how much a garment is going to shrink after washing/distressing. Adjust your patterns accordingly, this is embarrassing.

Slightly looser fit and stretchier compared to older 511’s, not as thick as the old levis but still comparable with today’s jeans. Don’t think this’ll get that wear in look with time due to thickness, but it’s pretty decent and good for the sale price I got it at. Definitely would not do this at full price

I bought the 511 slim fit black jeans 31 x 32, I am actually a 31 x 31, the waist stretches so the 31 was too big and the length was way too long and too baggy, ended up returning and exchanging for a 30 x 30 it was perfect.

the 511 fit is my newest fave in the levi's line. i used to like the 514's but the 511's are nice because they are a touch more slim / trim. not crazy skinny tight -- i could never wear those. but lean and trim enough that if you're in good shape these are very complimentary. this is the first pair of levi's i've had that have stretch / elastyne in them and i'm pretty sure i will never buy another pair without it! the touch of stretch makes these jeans SO much more practical and comfy and wearable. with my other slim jeans (i.e. the 514's), even if i just bent at the knee (and i am very active all day), because it was all hard denim, it was always pretty uncomfortable but i figured oh well you must suffer for fashion! then i bought two pairs of 511's with stretch, and even though they are totally lean and trim i can practically run in them because they have just the right amount of stretch. that means no matter how long i'm sitting, or if i'm stretching or bending to reach this and that, the pants move and give with me but then go back to their original shape looking cool and clean. my 514's though, which were all cotton, ended up getting stretched out at the knees and visibly worn there. the little bit of stretch is even useful in the pockets, giving them a little bit of give too. so you can stuff you large phone in there and when you take it out, again everything goes back to a nice clean crisp sense. the stretch also allowed me to buy a very close fitting size, which removes the need for a belt and / or constantly hiking up my pants all day. anyway these are great jeans. definitely my new fave! the bit of stretch makes all the difference and makes them perfect. ;-)

Good fit and size quoted is pretty much spot on, except length. I bought a couple, 33x30 - I'm actually have a 30" inseam = washed them and thought they lost at least 1". I checked a 2nd purchase and yes, they came in already short at least 1/2". So, now I buy a 32" inseam and have it hemmed in to my preferred length. I now buy 32" inseam pants.

I have been wearing Levi's Brand since well my whole life , when I was younger it was slim fit cords (school), then went to slim fit jeans , they weren't as comfortable (I like them on the tighter side) . Well about three months ago bought my first pair of 511's , got 31x32 first , they fit real good and look grate . Now I've bought 4 pairs of 511's since , have gone down to 29x32 , and they are just awesome , and extremely comfortable . I Recommend them for sure !

It's true that these run very tight, but it's expected when buying skinny jeans that they might be tighter than another pair in your closet. These look great and feel just as good as they look. Extremely satisfied!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These black jeans are quite comfortable. They are soft and the fit is true to size. I like the color and the dye has not faded after a few washes. The recycled material doesn't feel as hard and thick as normal jeans and have more of a trouser feel to them. They are more light weight and a little thinner but they look like jeans when wearing them. In happy with these.

Ordering clothes online can be pretty tricky but if you know your brand then you shouldn't have a problem. First off, vanity sizing is no longer an issue that pertains to women only. Levi's generally run about two inches wider than advertised. With that said, if it says '30W' then it's most likely going to fit like a '32W.' The next thing is that certain styles are meant to sit low on the waist, closer to the hip area opposed to right on the waist. When measuring yourself for jeans you should read about the style first and then measure accordingly. These jeans sit low on the waist so if you're wearing them near your navel then you're wearing them wrong. Anyway, if you measure your hip area and it says '32 inches' then you're going to want to order a '30W' so you can get that nice fit without having all that extra material left over once you put your belt on. Vanity sizing should be against the law but if you know how to deal with it you'll be able to make online purchases pretty easy. All brands are different though, so be careful. As far as the jeans, they are SUPER comfortable! I've never owned a pair of jeans before that felt like these. They are super soft and snug while giving me just enough room. You can do squats in these bad boys without worrying about them tearing because of the material that they're made from. The next thing is the color. The black is so rich and works well with anything really. These are NOT skinny jeans but aren't old school straight leg jeans either.. They're gently tapered to provide a more modern look. I have bought 1% elastine 511 in past, and current pairs are 38/32. This new pair I could not even button. Now I need to look at 40/32 and I have NOT gained weight. And stores do not carry 40 waist. How am I to compare? Big waste of time and energy.

Love these jeans. They fit great. The only difference is that I wear 36 waist in every other levis style except 511s....for these I have to size up to 38. I recommend you all do the same. Also, I learned long ago that the quickest way to ruin any pair of jeans is putting them in the dryer! DO NOT DO THAT! They will shrink and become unwearable. let them line dry. That's the best thing to do.

I own 3 other pairs of 511's and they are all 32' waist 34' length, and they all fit comfortably. The only problem I've ever had with these is that the crotch area is a little too constricting so I thought I'd try a larger size, so I ordered these in a 33/34 size thinking the waistline would be slightly bigger but the jeans I recieved are so tight I can barely button them and can't even sit down in them, they literally hurt to wear.. I thought I would just wear them around for awhile to break them in but nope, these jeans are not true to their waist size. Although the length was perfect and true to size. But yea, when I put on my other pairs of 511's with a 32' waist they fit so much more comfortably than these that are supposed to be 33' waist. They feel more like a 30/34.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm wearing a 33x32 in the motherload 511 right now, and I also have the dolf will make it pair in 33x32. Both fit perfectly and were purchased this year. I tried the far far aways three times. I first tried the 33x32. They were comically tight and small around the waist to the point where I couldn't even get them over my thighs, much less zipped up and buttoned. I then tried for the 34x32, and they were basically the same if marginally better. I figured as long as they didn’t send me the same pair, I could rule out these being a fluke, so I returned them and ordered another pair in 34x32. Just recently they arrived and there was no discernible difference in the fit. I had to go back in AGAIN to return them. So annoying…

I'm a woman, so finding jeans that are durable, yet fit my body are difficult. Most jeans sold to women are too soft and, no matter what you pay, are not made to last. So these looked like a good fit. I was surprised to find that they are much like women's straight-fit jeans--but more durable. They actually fit me like a boyfriend fit, but you can't tell I'm wearing men's denim. I roll up the leg, or I can wear them inside boots. Details like two-toned stiching, deep pockets make them feel special. The waist is obviously a little big, but I can make up for that with a belt or have them tailored later. I believe in investing in classics, and Levi's does not let you down.

i bought these for my hubby in his regular size 33/32 and they are WAY too small. i would go up a full size. he is trim and every other levi's we have ordered have been a size 33/32 and fit perfectly. i gave this 3 stars b/c the color is fantastic and the jeans are otherwise great.

These jeans are stiffer than normal jeans even after washing. They seem to have a wax stiffness to them which makes them perfect for casual as well as business casual by adding a button down shirt and a sweater or blazer.

This is an evergreen color and goes valley with all kinds of T-shirts and shirts fitting is perfect. these jeans are quite durable. They do not tear at all are very long lasting with other brands. I am very disappointed with these jeans. I thought Levi's were made to last, but within 3 weeks, one of the belt loops ripped off. I wore these maybe 4 times tops since I purchased them. I can't take them back to the retailer I purchased them from because the tags are not attached anymore.

These pants are great as a pair of basic black jeans for a staple in your wardrobe. HOWEVER, they fit a little awkwardly on a skinny guy like me. They are slim, but they don't taper at all; therefore, the calf area is awfully baggy. Don't get me wrong: These are a pretty good pair of pants, but they don't have much of a fit.

511's in the year 2000 used to be baggy straight and then in 2006, it went to be a skinny fit. Now after 10 years it is now customized to be a perfect slim straight jeans. I recently tried this one and it is roomier as compared to my previous 511's which used to be very fit at the Calves. I am a heavier built guy and this now is a perfect fit. I think they must be discontinuing 513's now.

The Jeans fit as I expected. They are a good pair of trousers and I was immediately satisfied with my buy. However, a few days after, while at work I noticed a bad smell. I thought it was my coworker skipping a few showers, but actually it was me! I recommend to wash the jeans 3/4 times WITHOUT any other clothes in the washing machines, or the smell will be passed to other items.

These are also thicker than some of the other varieties of Levi’s jeans that I’ve tried in the past. The opening on the leg is small enough that it won’t look sloppy or drag under your heel - but it’s still wide enough to wear with a pair of boots. I really like the black-on-black color scheme. I’d be hard pressed to find anything wrong with these. I love the brand and love the product.

I bought these jeans expecting the same great heavy duty fabric that has made Levi's famous for the last hundred years. I was very disappointed. The fabric was thin and didn't even feel like jean material and the fit was too big. I'm swimming in them! Definately would not recommend this product.

The fit is mediocre. I was expecting a better fit, look, etc but once I tried them on it was all wrong. I like some of Levi's other stretch fabric and 511s but this fabric feels thick and chunky. The styling looks completely different from the pics online. I tried to like them but no go...I will be returning these.

Great pair of raw denim. Has a beautiful deep, somewhat shiny, indigo blue of raw denim you'd expect. Pretty stiff when you first put them on but they soften quickly, as in they'll soften a bit by Day 1, and by Day 14 they will be noticeably softer. Seeing nice honeycombs on back of knees and whiskers in upper thigh. Hoping these fade over the next year or two. Cons: I bought my actual size and they fit like a glove in the waist when I bought them. But after 2-3 weeks they have stretched a bit making me think I should have gone one size down and dealt with a bit of uncomfort for a few days. I also bought a longer inseam since that's all they had and even with cuffing (which is the fun part of selvedge) it still stacks enough to not have as sleek of a look as my other 511 jeans. Will fix this with a hem. Also I'm not sure, but I feel like the leg opening is wider than my other 511 even if by a bit, so it doesn't seem as slim fit. Will probably taper. Not a big deal as you can always hem and taper jeans, but it would have been nice to just wear them without any tailoring.

Well, i usualy wear 32 on 501 Jeans, but i just bought this pair of 511 on 32, and they fitted perfectly, i didn't have to do the 2 size extra thing, but im scared it might shrink on the first wash and then i won't be able to wear them, i just hope that doesn't happen. But they are nice jeans, they have nice cut, and fit, awesome color too, perfect combination with my red DC's.

I was away from Levis for awhile but missed the 511 cut. Ordered these all season tech 511 in two colors and they are the most comfortable and versatile pants I have. I wear them almost everyday. Theyre soft and thin like chinos but with the 5 pocket style which I prefer. Perfect for all seasons at least in Texas. I just wish they made them in more colors!

The jeans look and feel great! Tons of room even though they're slim fit, I got the Rinsed Playa color, the dark color scheme is awesome if you're into that. My only observation is that these Levis feel noticeably lighter than what I'm used to, I purchased a 511 slim fit in a different color from a retail store two years prior to this in the same size and it's considerably heavier. I guess this could be a good or a bad thing depending on your perspective.

I have worn a 30x32 for the past 10 years and used to be able to count on the consistency in Levi’s sizes. These had at least an inch and a half gap at my waist and I had myself measured to make sure I purchased my correct size. Very disappointed that I can no longer purchase Levi’s jeans in my size.

These jeans fit tighter than what they have pictured on the models. The only one represented corrected is the playa color. All the others make these jeans look slim fit, which it is not. These are stretch skinny jeans for sure. Getting them on requires some work and it makes it look like they are plastered on your legs. It makes me feel like a girl to have such tight looking jeans. A lot of reviewers will mention they are skinny. Perhaps they do well with jeans. I would say that my legs are normal, slightly more muscular, and they definitely feel like skinny stretch jeans for girls

This is the first pair of Levi’s I’ve purchased in roughly 20 years. These are NOT the jeans I remember. The denim used to be thick, strong and soft. The quality has gone so far downhill I don’t even recognize this as real denim. Feels thin and synthetic. And, they’re supposed to be slim fit - they are sort of slim in the hip, but don’t taper much so are baggy on my lower leg. they are cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for.

I really like the heaviness and quality of the fabric. I also love the depth of the pockets. My only issue is I can't seem to get the same value in the women's jeans. I buy the men's jeans and add two small darts to fit my waist. Women's jeans have the TINIEST pockets, and are usually made from a much thinner fabric. These jeans are perfect.

These jeans fit pretty well but I like stiff, strong denim and the spandex makes them a bit flimsy and feel a bit lighter. I guess I won't complain riding my bike in the summertime. For me, the picture was an accurate representation of how they fit. I got 30x30's and I am 5'8' 145 lbs... That said the same fit in other jeans I have needed 29x32, so maybe these run slightly longer and slimmer than the others? I don't know.

But, I was sent two pairs that were dark blue. I figured I would wash them and they would fade out. Nope. They stayed dark blue.

The 511 Black Stretch have become a staple of slim pants. This is one of Levi's most popular slim fits and washes. Probably because they are so comfortable and stylish, also because they're one of the originals from the mid 2000's when the 511 was introduced. The color is a medium black, it doesn't gleam but it's not dull. The stretch is awesome because you have total range of motion even when you size down. The leg opening is slim but not as skinny as the 510, more like a vintage or modern slim straight. They run true to size.

Very disappointed with my purchase. I ordered online. I ordered 2 pair of 511 jeans. The only difference was the colors. What I received was totally different. Oh, the colors were correct, but then things go south. One pair fits as it should. The other pair I cannot even get pulled all the way up! I have read other people’s complaints and have come to the conclusion that Levi’s has just taken things too far. Too many choices. Too many changes in the fit, even though the style number is the same. It may be time to search for another brand.

The 511 Slim Fit Jeans (34/36) in black stretch fit so well that I want to wear them all of the time. The stretchy material has an almost sensual feel to it. I really enjoy how soft and comfortable they feel. I can dress them up or down. I have been out to both nice restaurants and out dancing in them. They really feel and fit great. I am planning on ordering another pair in a different because I literally wear them all the time. I recommend washing them (rarely)inside out in cold water and on the gentle cycle and air drying them to ensure that they last a long time. I just put them on a hanger after the wash and give them space hanging up to air dry.

Timeless like a B+W photo of Kurt Cobain! Wash is as light as it looks in the pic. Fit is slim without being constricting. Denim is flexible enough to be drama-free. Rips are perf. You can wear these all four seasons, no doubt. I got two pair cuz they're essential like that.

The names they use for the jeans are ridiculous. 511™ Slim Fit Men's Jeans, Rinsed Playa is not a ideal name for a color. Use Dark wash medium wash or lite wash. I searched as a dark wash and the Playa style came up but I wouldn’t call them dark. I bet I could of ordered one size smaller.

I was thinking it was a problem with the first two pairs but I'm guessing they are ALL that way. I've been wearing Levi's for 50 years and I've never had this problem. I like slim fit but not the waist that comes with them. Very disappointed!

I went to the Levi's outlet store in Orlando and Jaleel got me into these 511's and I was blown away! I went in for one pair and wound up buying three pairs of jeans! I highly reccomend the 511's

Tollaly disapointed with the Chino one because 3 out of the 4 that I ordered fit me perfectly, but the Chino one was too small and the pocket label had not letters. It is unacceptable that I had to pay for the return.

Bought a pair of 513 slim straights in 32x36 that fit me perfectly. Unfortunately they don't make 513 in that size anymore so I went with 511 slims. Was told the thigh fit and waist would be the same with the difference being in the calf area. These were skin tight on my thighs and calves. I could hardly bend over without fear of ripping my pants spongebob style. Hoping this was just the one particular pair and I will try again. 6'3" 180lbs for reference.

I bought these 511 skinny jeans online. I do have a pair of 510's, but I usually need help getting them off because of the small leg opening. I bought them to fit inside my boots. I thought 511s would be wider at the bottom than they are. I wore them unwashed first and the fit was perfect. When I washed and dried them, shrinkage was more than I expected. More so in the width of the leg opening than anywhere else. But I love the jeans, love the feel of them on my body. And they have a style I like...low waist, and groin hugging.

I'm pretty particular about how I like my pants to fit, and I tried a lot of others before finding these. They are good looking and the quality is good. They last quite a while with daily use. The only complaint I have is that these dark washes have a funky smell for a while until you've washed them a few times.

Purchased these and saw that they no longer have the 1% Elastane. They are know 100% cotton and you cannot stretch with them. They feel very cheap, stiff, and uncomfortable. I am not sure whey the description has not been updated on this website. Avoid!!!!

For a while now, I've been searching for a pair of black jeans with the perfect fit. The 510 super skinnys were, in fact, too skinny. This I found strange since my dark blue 510's fit LIKE A DREAM. Anyways, after a few tries and returns on various styles and makes, I gave a last ditch effort to these. Perfection achieved. They fit just as I want 511's to fit. The material is comfortable right off the rack. I was in love as soon as I put my first leg in! One small word of advice. If you're hovering b/w two waistlines in a halfway to emphasis on the smaller size, go smaller with this pair. I had to issue a return. Now that I've sussed it out, alls I can say is that I can't wait for a black jean occasion.

I've had 3 pairs of 511. 28s for a slim fit, 30 for work. Always 30 length. Bough a new pair, 30x30 and they are A FULL THREE INCHES LONGER than my three other pairs. Very disappointing.

I'm a female with 23" waist, 34" hips and these 511s in a 28 fit me snugly. Obviously, something is wrong with the sizing. When I first got them, they were tight to the point of discomfort. I toughed it out and broke them in though. It was so worth it; they wear beautifully. Don't wash unless you have to!! 3 years later I am still wearing them many days per week and have probably only washed 5 times. They have gotten so comfortable over time and still show no signs of ripping or falling apart.

The pants have a nice fit, but came in a pre-washed condition. On closer inspection, there’s also a stain on one of the legs. Too bad I didn’t notice until after I removed the tags :(

The color is not as bright, it is more of a washed out look. This completely changes the color tone of the jeans. Would not of purchased it if I could see the true color.

ME: Athletic build, 155 lbs, 5'6". THE JEANS: They were perfect until I machine dried them. Now the jeans dropped down a size or two and they tightly hug the groin area. Lesson learned. I will either buy the same size and AIR DRY them OR get a size up next time. Either way, these are a great pair of jeans and will wait for the next sale.

Very hard to find a 29” length Jean in a retail store. Found it on The Levi site. The only issue I have is that it’s not a 29” length. Its a 30. Still love the jeans but wish I didn’t have have them shortened

I have three pairs of 511 jeans and just bought two more. The new ones fit very bad and were made in Mexico. My other jeans which were the best fitting jeans I've ever had were made in Pakistan. Levi's shouldn't call these 511. I would return but old ones are wearing through the knees.

These fit exactly the way I wanted: trim but not tight, with enough stretch to feel comfortable but not so much they feel flimsy. Basic, simple design, sturdy fabric and stitching--what's not to like? I'm looking at other 511s to buy.

I have purchased jeans in the past with some fles, but these have so much flex they dont feelof fit like a pair of jeans. Very disappointing. I've tried them but will not be wearing them. They will become a donation to a charity. Fit was also loose in the waist. Do not recommend.

Review for 'Sequoia' wash: I have a large butt and thighs, which makes finding slim-fitting jeans that both fit me and look good a difficult process. I have a 32 inch waist and roughly a 32 inch inseam. The Sequoia wash is not only aesthetically pleasing, but the denim itself is very comfortable and offers a good amount of stretch - more than other 511's. Due to my large butt/thighs and the fact that 511's generally run small, I wear a 34x34 and they fit almost perfectly. Overall, these jeans are outstanding!

I'm usually a 31x31. i read reviews and bought 32x32. They were pretty tight all over out of the box. After a month they have stretched around the waist and thigh. The waist is now a true 32" and the they're not so tight around the thighs. The knees have stretched out due to a lot of squatting at work. They are still pretty tight around my calves and seem to be tapered at the ankle. I have not machine washed them at all. i recommend buying your true size if you are not going to machine wash very often. They will arrive small but will stretch. I would not recommend machine drying. The fabric is thin cotton and seems like it will shrink quite a bit. Over all I like these jeans but not sure I'd buy them again. I'm not crazy about the tapered ankle look. I wear boots and the jeans are pretty tight around the top of the boot.

I have a pair of these in the same size already and they fit snug and loosen up a bit after wearing. I ordered the same size and these are very loose on me. It is possible the first ones I ordered are mislabeled but who knows? Too big to wear even after washing. Not sure if I can send them back or not since I washed them.

I bought online a few weeks ago and very happy with the purchase. Great fit and color. The stretch material makes them comfortable to wear all day. My wife loves them on me and I’ve gotten several compliments from others. The only negative is that they make a little noise when walking due to material used for the new khaki (green) color. The reviews on these were mixed, but the sale price was so good I took a chance. The fit is good. As with the current trend, there is a little elastic in the waist for pizza days. I don't mind this so much. The color is closer to a swamp green than brown. I like it, but if you're looking for a true brown, then shop on. If you don't mind a woodsy, swampy green, then order these. As for the fabric, it's different. I have 511s in classic blue denim and the dark wine. Both pairs are soft as I would expect. This pair feels more like canvas. At first, they were almost slick, but I washed them a few times with some added vinegar and they're starting to lose that slick stiff quality that other folks didn't like. I figure that in another 4 to 5 washes they'll be broken in like I prefer.

Been wearin 501 Levi's since I was a true 30" waist, and a teen. Five decades later, can't get into those—but 511's in the Black Stretch are keepin me in my youth. OK, my waist may be 36 now, but I'm not ready for pants so big they can hide a week's worth of farts. So now, I imagine young dudes will eschew buying those Black Stretch 511's—just leaves more for my generation. Style is an attitude not an age, and my 511's are stylin, and the stretch is a bonus.

Thank you Levi's for knowing that we aren't all the same size or want the same fit. Offering odd sizes that fit "me" (30X29) makes for a much more tailored look. The quality of the denim is thicker, yet softer than anything else on the market. I also love the stretch you've built into the fabric. I have been and always will be a lifelong customer.

These are the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever owned. The way they fit and the the way the fabric feels is great. I love the 511 cut. For reference, I am 6’5” 245lb male. Issues: When zipped up, there is a small gap between the zipper and button. I bought my pair at the end of March, and they are worn out in the inner thigh already. Bummed they don’t last longer.

I don't know how many times I've seen peope whine about the stretch elemeent f some Levi's. Well folks take the time to read the info Levi's always provides. It's always there. This is what I did when I bought the 511 called "Crazy for Blue. The deeastaescription of the jeans gave me the info I needed: 79% cotton. 20% polyester and 1% Elastane. The stretch allows me to wear a comfy a pair of jeans.

Purchased these pants for both of my teenage boys and they both absolutely loved them; the fit is perfect, not too loose or not too tight. They wash nicely. They are already looking forward to their new pair of Levi's jeans! Keep those coupons coming this is the only way i can afford Levi's jeans for them considering this is the only brand jeans they like to wear.

It seems with the introduction of the super skinny jeans that the skinny jeans have grown a bit looser. These pants have a very nice raw denim color and very nice threading. They are a bit looser in the legs than I'd like, but fit quite well on the waist. There are no ugly fades or pre-wrinkled looks to these and the looseness is at least pleasant looking. As advertised they are a bit stiff, but I would argue a few wears and washes will soften them up. A great pair of jeans for the price I paid.

Excellent color (Rinsed Playa) and slim styling around the seat and legs. but I'm a little old guy who normally wears a 29 Length 30 waist. Too bad Levis doesn't doesn't offer that. Oh well, back to Lee's. . .

I say that they fit true to size, but it might be better to say they fit true to my expectations. I'm about 5'11", 205 pounds with an athletic build, so while I normally wear a 32" waist, but with slim fit Levi's I buy a 34, and they fit great.

They are 511s. These are the standard 'normal' jeans. This is normal cool, though. The darker the wash, the more sophisticated the look. These will forever be contemporary. Even 100 years from now. These are not the 514 straight cuts. The 514 is for dads who don't care how they look. The 511 is for people who care a little. So stylish dads and teens alike - I say go for the 511. Make it your favorite Levi jean for life.

I am happy that the size is accurate. I am disappointed in the shallow pockets. Wallet and phone have both fallen out. Wallet is normal size. Got out of the car and the wallet fell out the door! If that is not a problem they are ok.

I bought these for my husband, as he has recently lost weight and needed new jeans to accommodate his smaller size. We like slim fit jeans, but these fit like skinny jeans. I don't think sizing was the issue. The jeans fit him well, they were just too skinny looking for his style. I thought they would've been a winner since they're marketed as slim fit vs. skinny but that wasn't the case for us.

I recently bought 2 Levi's jeans online. One was only available in length starting 30 inches and another starting 29 inches. In the past as well I have had problems finding jeans with length 29 or 28 inches. I am 5'9" and 28 or 29 inches length fits me well. I would imagine men who are shorter than me would find length of 28 or 29 better. I am not sure why Levi's doesn't make 28 or 29 inch long jeans. Are Levi's jeans only meant for taller men?

I liked a lot the fit of these. The fit is kind of tight so you might want to get a waist size bigger than the one you'd get for 501's though. Also the color is a little lighter than the picture but still liked it a lot.

I understand that they are titled slim fit stretch jeans, however these are more like super slim tight jeans. They do not at all fit like the model in the picture has them fitting. I do like the color, but I will be returning this purchase.

The website shows this style as 99% cotton, 1% elastane. The tag in the product I received shows the actual fiber content as 88% cotton, 10% polyester, 2% elastane. I wouldn't have ordered this style had I known, but it's not worth the hassle to return them. Caveat emptor!

The jeans we received were of good quality as we have found most levi products to be. Our only complaint is that we cannot find the 511's in a 30x34 size. We had to go up to a 31 waist. Surely there must be other tall skinny teenage boys around? We have to go to another brand to get a 30x34, they weren't even available in the catalog. The kids only want levis!

Bought a pair of 511s as a replacement for a pair of 532 Denizens (Slim straight) which are apparently no longer available. Despite the 511 description of "Slim" fit, the 511s are a full inch WIDER than the 532s and appear baggy and relaxed. Needless to say, this was totally the opposite of what I wanted.

Size 29x32. The not-so-dark blue is a great wash to go with brighter gold and yellow stitching. The weight of the material makes it great for summer. Only criticism is that they stretch out after regular wear; which can be remedied by getting them wet and letting them air dry.

Well, when I look at the picture I wonder if they even sent me the right pair of jeans. The ones I received are not a nice solid dark color but instead look like they have been pre-faded and even have weird striations towards the upper thigh area, a look I have seen on other jeans that I really appall. The stitch is not at all a contrasting white color but a murky blueish brown. And yes reports of the waist being small.... very true. I comfortably wear a 28 inch waist and I ordered these in a 30, yet they are uncomfortably tight around the waist. I own 510's in a smaller size that are a better fit.

Most people are saying to get a bigger size. Compared to my other navy blue pair, this was a bit bigger even though I got the same size, but that was better for me. It does feel lighter and better for the summer, but I don't like how the stripes of fabric or whatever show sometimes. The black color is so rich and I love it.

I've been buying Levi's from their website for several years now and usually have success. However, this pair that I ordered was far from it. Upon receiving the jeans, I tried them on and they fit well and were comfortable. I of course washed the jeans -- following the directions verbatim -- and upon wearing them again, I could barely stand. I felt like Kramer in that episode of Seinfeld when he decided to switch over to Jeans. Ironically, the label on the jeans do warn of shrinkage up to "5%". However, they accidentally omitted the last part which should have included "up to 5%...with a standard deviation of 10%."

The denim is cited as raw denim, typically meaning that it's been without a finishing wash in order to allow the end user to fade the jeans themselves, which gets much harder after a wash. To be specific, this is once-washed denim without a fade washed in. It's typical Levi's quality, which is to say very good, but I was disappointed to find out that it had been pre-washed.

I have several colors of 511s and 513s to wear as dressy jeans, and this New Olive Khaki-Brown is an attractive and versatile color. The denim isn't a twill weave, is more a broken twill weave and almost a sateen fabric which is very nice. Some reviews have said these jeans are stiff, and they are to an extent but not in an uncomfortable way. Rather, they hold the creases that form across your lap when you sit for a few minutes but they don't look untidy. The fit is modern and flattering. Bottom line: You'll feel comfortable in any setting in these jeans thanks to the fabric, tailoring, fit, and appearance. You'll look sharp and feel sharp, and that will shine through.

I own many pairs of 511s and they all fit differently. This is a problem when buying online and the sizes are not consistent. Each pair I own are 30x30 and the actual sizes range from 'absolutely need a belt to keep them up' to 'could barely button them, but now that they're worn and stretched, they fit great'. I want to say the trend is they're getting bigger, but my sample size is too small, so I cant say for certain.

I work in a kitchen, and ride my bike a lot, so I need something that will be comfortable to ride in, comfortable to work in, and won't look disgusting after one wear. These fit the bill perfectly. The stretch means that I don't have to worry about tearing a hole in the crotch as I mount my bike, or tearing up the knees as I ride. After work, throw on a pair of black oxfords and a gray tweed jacket and you look presentable.

I really want to like these jeans, but unfortunately the back rise is just too short for me. It digs into my crotch when sitting and walking, and is uncomfortable for daily wear. I'm guessing this is because I have a proportionally small waist compared to my height, and the smaller waist options have a shorter rise in the front and back. A shame...

This is my most favorite in 511, best color, high quality product. The only issue is the size running small. I usually wear 34 inseam but had to exchange for a 36. Levi should make such colors in hard core denim also. I have also noticed today the recommendation stars in the display have been removed from all items but I think this would have a negative impact.

Maybe I'm too old to be wearing these---or too fat! I don't like the "fit below the waist" bit! They slip down. Although every pants length I wear is 32", these are too long and they bag at the knees and ankle. Slim fits shouldn't look this way. I've been wearing Levis for over 50 years, but I think my time for the Slim Fits has passed.

Bought 511 slims in the store this size and loved them but they didn’t have this color in my size so I ordered them but these are a different less comfortable material. They’re more stiff , and despite my other 511s in the same size these ones are too tight. Very disappointed. Assuming they would fit I took of the tag so too late to return.

Seriously, what happened to Levi's 511's. They sadly messed with a good thing. Now the jeans are tighter in the thigh and wider in the calf and on the cuff. They don't have that slim look anymore. They don't even look tapered. Just disappointing. Bring back the quality, Levi's!!

My son is size 33x34, tall (about 6'3)and thin. These were still abit tight in the legs, and made him look even thinner, but he likes them. They are super comfortable and apparently the very slim look is very much in style. Thanks for a great website. Much better than shopping the stores :)

Ordered 27x30/Rigid Dragon (personal favorite) & 28x30/Dark Hollow (only available color) to gamble on fit. Returned 28x30 (same 32" waist problem!). 27x30 too small so more accurate in size.

Like how the fit is slim, but I don't feel too tight when wearing them. The pockets are well cut, I can carry my phone, wallet and keys in them and still be able to pull them out with ease. My only objection is that wash is so dark that I am questioning if it is blue or black. I guess I"ll find that out after the first wash. But overall I do like the jeans.

I've been a life long Levis customer from high school wearing the slimmer cut 505’s Black only over the classic Blu 504 At some point to my chagrin, you changed the cut to be more........."forgiving". I suspect to accommodate the aging process, which confounded me. Why not just leave the 505’s as is for those that didn’t become fat & create a new line i.e. 506 etc. A door closes, but a window opens when Levis introduced the program which tailored jeans for a more bespoke fit, tho co$tly I readily accepted using my old 505’s as the ideal. Luckily my wallet grew in lieu of my waistline so that program worked very well for me. The 511's & 514’s were introduced about the same time the bespoke program was eliminated. I tried & wear both styles in Black only regularly, preferring the 511’s which I will wear until some giant brain in the marketing dept. @ Levis HQ. decides to eliminate them.

Best Levi's since Silver tabs and these are better (the rear doesn't tear). While they have a bit of spandex they aren't stretch, they're actual pants. I love 'em! For years I've mourned the lost of the old Trash and Vaudeville stove pipe jean but these have soothed that loss. I'm going to buy a ton of pairs to make sure I have enough to last me a lifetime. They are that good! Cool looking, fit well and most of all comfortable and washable (unlike other far more expensive jeans).

These are one of the most comfortable pair of jeans I've ever owned. Because of their composition (1% spandex) these have a lot of movability, and also are a tad loose. If you are in between sizes I'd say go smaller (I wear a 33 waste, could have gotten away with a 32).

These run pretty small in the legs and don't have any give. My thighs felt like meat in a sausage casings. So I had to return them, plus the rigid fabric would not fair well in this Texas heat. Oh well, they seemed like they would've looked nice.

Bought a pair of stretch “Rinsed Playa” 7 months ago. Loved them. Bought another pair couple weeks ago - completely different fabric (paper thin vs thick denim) and a lighter weird color (almost a dingy medium blue). Old was made in Indonesia and had black back label; this has the typical beige label. Says 511, but the cut is looser in the thighs and calves. Low quality.

The slim 511’s have been my go-to jeans for over a decade. There have been tiny changes over the years, but for the most part the fit and comfort of the pants has remained the same, so no complaints there. However, on this post recent pair I purchased, the pockets are tiny, like woman’s-jean-pocket small. Being slim jeans, the pockets have always been a little on the small side, but these ones are drastically smaller than they used to be. I can’t fit a whole hand past the knuckles- if I want to actually get something out of the pocket, I’m fishing with a couple fingers.

I purchased 2 pair of 511's which were the variety/style of 99% cotton and 1% elasticine. This is the fabric combo which I had purchased earlier. Unlike the 511s I bought in the past which fit fine, these were NOT slim and were too big around the waist. I washed them hoping they might shrink a little and be somewhat consistent with my previously purchased jeans, but that didn't do the job and I am stuck with these. Quality assurance is grossly deficient with these. Very unhappy.

I bought it for my son. Horrible fit. The size does not match the fit. I think I inadvertently bought it twice being lured by the low price. The first time I returned it (which I never ever do). Now, I'm just taking the loss and looking for someone to give it to. Never again. Also, the material is so rigid, it feels like cardboard.

Not being particularly tall, I really like the fit and look of the 511's and have purchased many different "colors". This one has a very appealing dark denim shade but runs somewhat small--I had to exchange for one size up. Although I have not worn them yet, the fit, although snug, was very good when I tried them on.

I bought 3 pairs for may son since he had 511 in boys size 18. The boys 18 were way to wide and short (he needed a belt to keep them up). The boys 18 tag said 30 x 30 so I bought the 29 x 32 in the mens. I opened them and put them in his room, donating the others. A few days later he came out and said "mom I can not get them zipped". I have three more jeans to donate now, having thrown all the paper work away. Don't be to confident!

Got these pants in early October 2018. The "New Khaki" was a dark olive color, just like in the pictures. "True Chino" was an all white color, true to the pictures as well. I was expecting a comfortable stretchy material ("Stretch Jeans", right?!), but this was not the case at all. The fabric was tough and scratchy. I had another pair of Levi's (511 Performance Stretch) which were incredibly soft, comfortable, and stretchy. These 511 Slim Fit Stretch Jeans were the opposite of that. I'm really disappointed with this purchase.

The jeans are made of a soft material with a gray underlay. They look great and are very comfortable. I generally have worn a size 31" Waist and 30" or less inseam before stretch jeans came on the scene. With stretch jeans I must get a size or two smaller to get the fit I want. I purchased a 30" waist but could have easily worn a 29" waist. I can wear down to a 28" waist in men's stretch jeans. I can wear a size 2 or 26 in women's stretch jeans that are great for swimming in cold water. I like trim form fitting jeans.

This is my first time buying Levis jean using their website. Normally I buy it from department stores (so that I can SEE, SMELL it, and try it on, but I was too lazy this time) I was so excited when I received the package. However, once I open it, it STINKS! And it seems a little bit yellowish. It smells a little bit like sulfur? Then I was like, let's just soak it in water with some detergent. 5 days later, it smells even worse! I eventually don't even bother to return it. It just went straight to trash... If you are willing to return/exchange it, go for it. Otherwise, I don't recommend it buying it straight from their website. I honestly am SO, SO disappointed...I have been wearing Levis jeans for at least 7 years now:'(

i've bought six pairs of this size pants in black and they all fit great . But these ridgid dragon pants i odered the same size and both pairs were to small in the waste .can't figure out how you would sell one type of pants one size and another another size . Doesn't make a bit of sense to me .

When the jeans first arrived at my door they fit perfectly, and I was so stoked, they felt and looked awesome! After washing and drying multiple times they are still fine; although it they did shrink slightly, but they stretched back out in no time. I really like these jeans; however, next time I will be sure to buy them a little longer as they are quite close to being too short, even though I ordered the size that I usually wear in other jeans. I will mention that these are more skinny than slim, but this is no problem for me because I like them that way. Thank you Levi's for a great product!

I typically wear 32x32 for jeans (514s), and for the standard 511s I have to bump up to 33x32, but these ones have a bit of spandex and stretch so I can get the 32x32. I haven't washed them yet, but originally from the online store they were tighter than when I tried them on in the store. After wearing them for about an hour they loosened up. I think it's because they were straight from the factory. I will buy them again.I have the same version or older 511x which is the 511 with spandex.

I've been searching for what seems like years for a nice pair of jeans that fit me. I have a muscular, but thick, frame. Previously, jeans would fit my waist, but look ridiculous at my ankles. The leg opening would be so wide, it was almost embarrassing. I gave up wearing jeans for a while. I ended up finding a few slim-fit pants and just dealing with feeling uncomfortable all day due to how tight they would feel from top to bottom. Enter the 501 CT. These fit my waist, butt, and thighs, while also being tapered from the knee down. They look and feel as though they are custom made. I'm crossing my fingers that these will be around for a while.

Before I purchased these jeans I read a few reviews, some of which said they ran small, some of which said they ran large, so I understandably had some misgivings. But of all the jeans I currently owned, the Levis all fit the best, although none were 511s. So I put my measurements in the online chart and ordered the size recommended...and they fit perfectly!

The color correction on this photo vs the pants that you get are not the same. Color name being Golden is much closer to the truth. Hoping it fades as it washes.

I will not wear these jeans with boots, even though they can fit, but I bought them to wear barefoot or with sandals, moccasins or sneakers. My only complaint is that I miss the 2 extra rear loops (jeans always had 7 loops, not 5), and the space between the two front loops is barely enough to accommodate the larger buckles I wear.

I had been wearing Levi's Slim jeans for many years. However,for me,they were baggy in legs and crotch. Otherwise,the quality was great. When I recently purchased my Rigid Dragon Skinny 511's,I was thrilled with them when I first put them on! And so was my wife! These are the best pair of jeans I've ever owned. They fit me perfectly. I will say that Levi's does have consistency problems in the 511 line of jeans, but I was lucky enough to get the right pair for me. Do no wash these jeans! These jeans are raw denim, meaning they were not factory washed after they had been dyed! This is on purpose as to create fades that fit your body after a long period of time, etc. I've only washed these jeans ONCE in over 2 years. If you do need to wash them, do some research on washing raw denim or you will ruin your pair just like all the people complaining on the reviews.

The fabric covering the zipper was defective, and isn't sewn straight. It looks like the fabric bunches up and the zipper shows when I wear them. The leg is also much too long. I wear a 30x30 and these are longer than all other pairs of 511 30x30s I own.

I bought these 511s in 32x34 cause thats what i wear comftorabley in 510s and finding that fit in a place like Urban Outfitters or even a smaller discount store is next to impossible. Luckily we have the internet folks! They came in within 4-6 business days and i was unfortunately surprised at how small they were in the waist. They fit more like a 31~30 but since my other option is going to a 33 or god forbid 34 waist i have decided to just beat them in and not wash them for the time being. Hopefully they will get washed and i wont see much shrinkage. They look fantastic though and i get compliments on them all the time. They have this "dark wash" that just looks so cool and i would kill to have in a 510!

I ordered a size 31 of these, and another pair of size 31 slim fit from Levis in a different material. The other pair fit like a dream, these however, are so small I can't put them on. These run incredibly small, so size up. Essentially they're just going to be donated. Oh well, that's the risk of buying pants online!

I really like the look of these jeans. The dark blue with contrast colors stitching and wrinkles are all great style designs. I think of old school classic Levi’s with a few modern twists and cut. They stack perfectly at my ankles. I am 6’2” and 34 length is perfect.

These are just perfect! I'm 6'0 and 144 lbs and the 30x32 are just perfect, might could have gone with 29x32. I'm normally a 513 guy, but I think I found my comfort zone with 511. Levi's should make every 511 jean like the Black Stretch. These are just fantastic and comfortable. I feel like I can do karate in these. Buy these now!! 511 Black Stretch FTW!!!!

I have been waiting to buy a pair of black skinny jeans. Every time I go to the mall, they never have a nice pair of black skinny 511's. If they do, they have weird lines on them. This pair, however, is perfect! It has a soft feel, and the fabric is stretchy. The color is pretty dark and looks good with anything! Someone said on here that they run small on the waist, so I decided to order one size up. That was a big mistake! I am normally a size 32 x 30, but ordered a 33 x 30. Since I ordered one size up, I have to wear a belt so my pants won't fall. Order your normal size, as they are true to size. My girlfriend loves them; she told me to buy another pair.

I am a tall, slender guy and have a hard time finding jeans that fit well. Have been wearing 501 jeans for a long time. Found some black 511 slim fit stretch jeans at an outlet store that were too short, but otherwise fit well. Bought some black 511 slim fit stretch jeans online and bought them. Have been wearing them for a month now and love them! The waiste fits true to size. Length was a tad bit longer than I expected, but that's a lot better than being too short. After washing them several times, the black color has not faded either.

Great fit, comfy, great style. But I bought these for the color — 'cimarron' is a warm reddish brown color, and the photos of the product showed this. However, what arrived was more like an olive khaki. Disappointed and returning them, I wanted brown. (I tried to upload a 400x400 pixel photo of the pants that came, but "We were unable to accept the image you uploaded. It must be at least 400 pixels wide, but was 400 pixels. These jeans are good quality, but if you're a guy with bigger thighs (my wife says "Vegeta" thighs lol) this fit might be a bit snug. The reason I'd give these 3 stars is because of how stiff this wash is, even after a good washing. Just like putting your legs into a bucket and calling it "pants". But hey, my butt looks great in em so there's that...

I haven't been able to wear Levi's for a long time, nothing fit me. I have bigger quads from mass amounts of gains due to a severe squatting issue. Due to my squats most pants don't fit me because they lack the flex. Now that Levi's includes elastane in these pants I can wear them. Large Quadinitous has been cured!!! For all those that don't think these fit, do some squats, then some more and then a few more and you'll be happy. Love them!

These are absolutely lovely jeans. The best black stretch jeans I could find. They have a very smooth feel. But they run way tight. And a bit long. Make sure to get the waist size one inch wider than you normally do. That's what the Levi's rep recommends on the phone. Buy them online instead of marching your carbon footprint twenty miles out to the suburban mall.

Everybody needs a pair of black Levis. The 511 has always been my go to fit (I'm 6.1, 175lbs)I love the stretch as it makes these jeans way more comfortable on a bike or hike. They also keep their shape better (no more baggy knees). It remains to be seen how the stretch material affects durability, but so far I'm in love. The fit is true, maybe a bit small, but with the stretch that's a good thing.

My son is short and heavy, so he doesn't fit in youth sizes but men's sizes (30 if we are lucky and often 32) are WAY too long. These pants with slim fit are just a tiny bit too long and he doesn't need to roll them 3-6 inches. I've ordered 2 pairs already and will be ordering more once it starts getting cooler!

I'm a tall, thin girl who can never never find jeans long enough so I tried the men's 511. I normally love these for the fit, comfort, and giant front pockets. I'm 6 ft tall. I went to the 30" waist so I wouldn't need a belt. And no, I don't wear them skin tight. Bought 2 pair of the stretchy 511s. These are as large or larger than the 31" waist regular not-so-stretchy 511s. I'll have to return them. Size down the waist if you're a girl. : (

I buy Levi's for most of my jean needs. I've come to learn that I get what I want about 80% of the time. This pair of 511 was too long and not as form fitting as past 511 I have purchased. I love Levi' and will stick with them. But just be aware, sometimes (20% of the time) they may not fulfill your expectations.

These jeans were the proper length and fit. I have been to a few stores in the area and can never find the right length with the right waist. I get to feeling like I was too late to the store or they just dont stock my size. Being able to order it online here worked great. And the flex doesnt hurt as a feature after you eat a (too) big meal.

At 6-4 with skinny legs and not much in the back the 511 is probably the first pair of jeans I've ever worn that truly fit.- not overly tight with their slim cut,and stretch means instant comfort with no breaking in. My girlfriend with great empathy and and an former menswear designer,bought two pairs in black. I will never wear another brand again.

The color on these jeans has not even a hint of green, just a sort of dingy-blue (and I'm an artist who has a great sense for hues.) The fabric is much thinner than a pair of the same jeans previously purchased in another color. Love 511 slim fits, but these won't stand up to much wear. Would I recommend them? I don't know.

My husband always wears the same style jeans in the same size. I got him this version of them for the first time and they were ridiculous! He put them on and we were absolutely cracking up at how extremely tight they were just in the groin area! The rest of them looked as they normally do, except with this weird variation around that area. If you like that sort of thing, these are for you, if you like to leave something to the imagination, I would avoid!

I am a die heart 527 wearer and recently I started wearing Levis 511 Skinny jeans and now I have three pairs in my wardrobe! These jeans are so comfortable it feels like there my second skin! I now have two pairs of 511s with spandex in them and they both fit perfectly even though I have muscular thighs! My third pair of Levis 511s are still my favorite though the 3D Onyx with is 100% cotton!! If you have a little weight on you or have muscular thighs and you want to wear Levi 511s I recommend having spandex in the jeans so they will mold to your body type! I'm not a fat guy, but I have a solidly build body frame! Levi 511s are now my third favorite pair of jeans to wear next to 514s and 527s!!!

I have placed several orders for men’s 511 jeans all the same color. But, I’ve had to return many of them because they don’t fit the same. For instance, the ankle cuffs may be larger on some than others. Don’t know why! Maybe there’s a difference if one style has 1% elastane vs 3% elastane. I just wish it was standardized more so I know what I’m getting!

Great looking but the pants where waaaaay too small. I literally took off a pair of 28 in waist Levi's to put on a pair of 29 in waist Levies and I couldn't even get the button close enough to the whole to button up the 29's. Just wish they where willing send the right pair.

I was very excited about receiving my white denim 511s. Unfortunately, the denim is so thin that the pockets and fly visibly stick out like a sore thumb through the legs. This happens regardless of the color of my undergarments- the denim is just too thin. What a shame!

Returned these. I never fully trust reviews about sizing issues, and ordered my true size. Should have listened and ordered up, although it would have been the first 511's that didn't fit right. I think Levis should just re-measure certain models once there are many reviews that complain of a small fit. That is probably the reason they were on sale, right? I dont know if I will order from Levis.com any more. It has always been nice knowing exactly what size you wear so you can trust you will love what you get.

These pants are excellent. The little spandex in the fabric makes them very comfortable. They fit well, the color is deep black, the legs are straight, but slightly more comfortable than the skinny cut, very cool.
