I couldn't believe it when I went to Levi's.com and found such a great deal on my favorite jeans of all times. 501's are the original and are ageless. They were out of the package and tried on immediately! Fit like they were made just for me! Came directly to my door, no hassles, no traffic...what a way to Black Friday Shop!

I have given up on Levis. I have worn them exclusively for 40 years. In the last 10 years the quality has gone way way down hill; from broken belt loops within a week, to out and out busted open across the fabric within weeks... they have actually left me in the lurch several times. I was at work as a teacher in a high school when I bent down to pick something off the floor and my 550s blew out at the rear end. These pants were less than a month old. Can you imagine being a teacher in a high school class and having your pants blow out? I had to call my wife to deliver me pants. I'm done. I have suitable replacements from another manufacturer and will not purchase Levi products again.

Most of the jeans in my wardrobe are 501s. Why? They are well made and can last years. You can wear them to the office, race track and all things in between. 501s are the best jeans you can get at a price that reflects the value.

Disappointed you don’t have my size, and then when I compromise and get a size smaller each pair of pants is different. Had to return two pair because they were to small. Very inconsistent quality.

I bought these jeans as a Christmas gift for my brother. I'm so disappointed with them that I'm going to return them, which is something that I very rarely do. They are thin and look cheap.....nothing like the rugged jeans that Levi's used to make.

This is a great pair of jeans. The deep black goes with everything, and I like being able to wear them out myself, instead of buying them with a lot of pre-wear. The material is stiff but softens after washing, like a classic pair of Levis, and I think the button fly is a little more comfortable than a zipper. The pair I received was almost a whole size smaller in the waist and thigh than other 501s I've tried. The length was OK. Levi's sizing has been a little inconsistent lately, and not every pair may be that way. (I could have returned them, but I've lost weight and liked the fit.) Every guy should have a pair of these classics in his closet.

I bought the Levi's 501 is several colors. This is the pretty standard blue jeans color: good for an everyday all around jeans. The material is thicker and heavier than the other "special" color 501s that I bought. I can tell with the heavy fabric and the stitch, the jeans will last a while. Bonus: I got this on sale at the Levi's website at 40% off. When this once in a while sale comes along, buying it online becomes cheaper than getting it in the department stores.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dark Stonewash, really any of the stonewashed pairs are arguably the highest quality. They are thick 100% cotton denim and make you feel like you are getting your money’s worth. The “Rinse” wash is the only other wash besides the stonewashed that I would recommend. Most of the stretch and pre faded looking 501’s are made of thinner material and do not last as long. The shrink-to-fits are really great too. You just have to understand that the sizing is a little different. Overall great pair of jeans and true to size.

Call me old school, but I don't like stretch jeans. I have been on the hunt for 100% cotton jeans for entirely too long and I did what I should have done from the beginning. Go back to something tried and true. 501s are a classic for a reason. And now I've got my new go to.

I bought 2 pairs of shrink to fit 501's, but washing one pair, it shrunk too much. Both pairs were replaced to a larger size. The quality is almost as good as it was when I was a teenager (I'm now a skinny almost 70-year old woman) and I feel like 15 again when I wear them.

Have worn 501's for 40+ years, but had not purchased a pair for a couple years. Bought my usual size and that's where the similarity ended. Inseam not true (short), rise is somewhat low-slung, material is lower quality, and hem at cuff is so skinny it turns up after washing. I am a very loyal consumer when I find something I like, unfortunately, Levi's has forced me to shop for something better.

I'm very happy with this pair of jeams. I love the fit - snug around the waist but not tight, relaxed fit around the thighs, and loose on the calves and ankles. The button fly was the reason I wanted to try these jeans and that feature didn't disappoint. These are nice jeans!

Bought my first pair of Levi’s ever, was expecting “original fit” to mean “straight fit” as it did say in the description, when I got them and tried them on everything was fine except for the thighs being extremely tight to the point where I couldn’t even go up stairs. I ended returning and sizing up and got the same result. Not sure if 501s just run small or just aren’t for athletic builds (my thighs aren’t even that big too) Normal size: 32x32 What I bought 34x34 I’m 6’2, 181 lbs

I have been wearing 501s for over 20 years. Sometimes purchased on line Levi, and sometimes retail. The jeans just don't hold up to wear as well as they used to. They feel as though they are thinner. Against my better judgment I purchased 3 more pairs only because I think Levi makes quality, but I am starting to doubt.

Good, but not as great as they were in the 80’s. I do like the deeper pockets, but the material is thinner and wears out faster. I still have jeans from my high school years, which I still prefer over these new ones.

I was looking for a more durable pair of jeans after the last pair tore a hole after just a couple weeks of strenuously sitting around the house. Real hard work, you know. I bought a pair of 511s and I’m happy with the way they look but they are a little too snug to use as an all round jean. I wanted to try something that is more traditional yet still has a straight look. I wore these back in the 90s and I loved them. I was a little worried to go for the non-stretch since I got used to modern stretch but I wanted the original jean. I was afraid I would have comfort problems but I was wrong. These jeans from the first time I put them on were very comfortable. They have a great look, the denim is thick and feels well made. The fly buttons were a little difficult to close and open the first few times but they loosen up quickly. I couldn’t be happier with these jeans and I think 501s will be my jean from now on.

After washing it in cold wash for the first, then putting it in the dryer on medium, the pants came out with many long creases. I've never had this problem with any other jeans (ranging from skinny to bootcut).

I am 6’ 9“ with 210 pounds, and I had to buy a 32x38 that fit perfect after delivery. Now after one month, I washed them the first time. Despite Levi’s indications of a potential shrinkage of up to 10%, I was not experiencing any major change after washed hot and maximum heat in the dryer. It came out like new: great fit and quality, and the 1% elastane is doing a perfect job to maintain the comfort level high.

I've worn Levi's for a little while now. I love the fit, the button fly, the waste height, and the classic washes. The issue is the consistanse in quality that the company puts out. The pant I've been getting have A: been tighter in areas and bigger in others, even though I purchase the same size. And B: have had crooked seams. (The last few pairs I got, the outer seam of the right leg ran so crooked that when the threw my knee. The pants always felt crooked. This was the last 4 pairs I puchesed.) I think Levi's is one of the better affordable denim companies, but the quality of the products, whether it be because of volume or poor QC, is Incredably inconsistent and deters me from buying them.

I have been wearing pebble colored 501s for so long people joke that it is my "uniform." Now Levis does not make my size any more 40w 30L and the quality of the other non-denim colored jeans is awful (cheap and thin). I have never really cared for LEE jeans but it is the only place I can find my "uniform pant." And what Levis does not understand is that "Quality and Availability" are what I want. It is not based on price.

Labeled 35x32 but fit like 38x34. I guess that is on par for Levi's these days. The last time I bought them at a store, I went through 10 pairs before I found one's that fit and they were defective. Crotch ripped out.

I ordered two pairs of 34 x 30 501 jeans, based on the 'true to size' statement on the website. I washed them once in lukewarm water and then hung to dry. They're way too tight at the waist for me. When I compare the waist with an old pair of 550s that are 34 x 32 the waist is about 3 inches shorter. Pretty mad about this as I will now have to donate them to a thrift shop. I added a photo so you can see the old 550s and the new 501s, both nominally the same waist size, but the new 501s are tiny compared to the old jeans.

Their fit selector was very helpful in transitioning into Levi's sizes, and I wear these jeans all the time now. The button fly is classy, and the fit and finish stand up to my job's requirements. They look great and sit on my hips for best comfort. I've washed them a couple of times - the color has not bleed, and air-drying them helps retain their fit. As a big guy, these jeans are perfect for me; the right size without being too large in the waist or too long in the legs. Cannot recommend them enough!

The Timberwolf is one of currently four Garmet Dye colors in the 501 Original Fit. To me it feels like midweight denim and I would call it a light shade of khaki. Good pants/jeans addition to my closet giving me more options for allround wear besides the color blue but in a style I like. Had to order a size up to get a fit I was satisfied with.

I am mostly a 511 guy. I have some of the 501 Shrink to Fits & 501 Originals. I wear the 501's when I want a more loose fit. These are really nice. Not as baggy as the Shrink to fits plus these have just as good fabric quality. I bought the same size I wear in the 511's and they fit good for me. I also love the fact that these are true acid wash style. They're hard to find these days. Keep making these !

The button holes in the fly had to be opened with a thread stripper before they could be used on one pair On the other pair when they were washed the side inseam turned the length of the leg so it runs across my knee. This is not the first pair or two I've purchased in the last few years that had quality problems.

Now that these jeans have been redone with the "stretch" capacity, its puts them over the top with comfort! Usually I'm a bit skeptical about buying clothing without trying them on first. However, I've worn 501 jeans since I was a teen and the fit is always spot on. The "In My Eyes" 501 jeans are great!! Just the perfect weight, the perfect color and the perfect fit!!! The leg opening on all of my other 501 jeans have always been 16". These, however, are 15" leg openings (just the way I like them to be). I love these so much that I ordered a couple more pair as it's so hard for me to find the perfect pair of jeans. These definitely fit the criteria as the perfect jeans for me.

Overall the jeans work for their purpose. The quality of the fabric and stitching is NOT great. Levi’s used to be my go-to brand, but since standards seemingly have changed they won’t be anymore.

The price of these is un-reasonable. These are great jeans for a short while. If you are looking for non-stretch, which is tough to find nowadays, here they are. As stated in the title, the color will fade fast, like a month to two months and now your all black are no longer dark. For the price, holy cow get something else. The fit is inconsistent, I am a 29x30, I tried 30x30 and it went from slim fitting to extremely baggy. Fas fading color, excessively over priced, inconstant fit, find another jean. I can't say enough how over priced these are.

Great fit, great feel, terrible wash. Seriously, after the second wash your black jeans will have faded noticeably. Don't buy full price, make sure to get them on a sale. And for real, they fade unreasonably fast.

I have had 501 Original Fit for 30 years and the have changed. They are not Original, but have changed. They ride low at the waist even though they are promoted as being "at the waist". I am 5'10" and 170 pounds and these jeans with a belt put pressure on my iliac crest(hip bone). They cause pain after a few hours and I often switch back to my very old ones that are truly at the waist and feel great. My wife jokes with me about my "sore hips" when I wear them. The silver lining is tthat they will last forever since I cant do yard work or wear them all day on Saturday.

I keep them as my every day go to jeans, if I am doing something casual, or something slightly dressier, I know I can pull it off with a pair of 501's. A real classic. While I prefer the 513's after trying them out, I will never get rid of my 501's. Too utilitarian

If you think your getting a pair of 501, these are far from the originals. The material stretches, the stone wash is very ugly. It looks like they had a rookie making the designs on these pants.

As they have been all of my life, Levi's 501 button fly jeans are the standard bearer for ALL other clothing lines to follow. Superb workmanship, appearance, durability, comfort and above all, the prestige of wearing an American original like none else in the world...I have never owned and pair of jeans other than Levi's. 95% of them have always been 501 buttonfly. I bought the 501 jeans for my grandson as you can see on my invoice. Unfortunately both pair are now unwearable due the crotch being torn out with normal school wear. He still loves the jeans but cannot wear them to school even as I tried to sew them up. Makes me very sad as I no longer have the receipt. I was sure with the Levi brand they would last more than 3 months.Please help if you can

The 501s use to have 7 belt loops. Now they only have 5. Also, the last pair that I bought will not stay buttoned. Random middle buttons become unbuttoned. The material seems softer or thinner at the button holes

To save 69 cents on each pair of Levi’s jeans, they removed 2 of the belt loops on the back. Now there is one, not as much of a problem for 30 inch waist...huge problem for the rest of us. Grew up with Levi’s, wore 501’s exclusively my entire contracting career. Wrangler still puts 3 belt loops in the back...I’m now wearing Wranglers exclusively. Not a very smart idea Levi’s ...jack up the price, which I wouldn’t object to but you cheapened the product in more ways than just the removal of necessary belt loops.

The placement of the buttons on the 501 button fly made it difficult to undo the fly. Quality control seems to be lacking these days as the various 501 Levis that I have all have different placement and spacing. Probably a minor comment, but I’ve been wearing 501s for 65 years.

I have ordered 31 inch waist 501 jeans for over 40 years. Levis decided to make the labeled 31 inch waist actually 33 inches. The 501 jeans are way oversized on me when I order my actual waist size. I would send them back if it wasn't so much trouble.

Hadn't bought a pair of 501's in many, many years but went searching for jeans again after the brand I was wearing started making their jeans different (cheaper and no longer fit). Tried a pair of 501's a few months ago and they are not too bad - not the quality they used to be years ago but all brands seem to be that way anymore. So I thought I would get a second pair and upon washing and drying this second pair, they are nothing like the first pair though they are identical. They are like cheap junk - the material is creased and crunchy and turns up on the cuffs and the pocket area and you can just tell the material is totally cheap. Very disappointed. So I wonder what is different and I happen to check the label inside the jeans. The first pair, the good pair, is made in Egypt. The second, junk pair, is made in Haiti. Don't know what kind of cotton or whatever they are using in Haiti but it's sad that the quality can vary this much. I'm back to searching for another brand. Can't trust Levi anymore. Take your chances.

I set out web searching to find a pair of 501s. I'd never purchased from levi.com but they had the best price on the planet. The first pair I got was missing part of a rivet. A trifling defect perhaps, however despite being the best deal on the planet, it's still not chump-change and I'd be living with them for a few years. I called support and got an English speaking gent, who arranged for a replacement right then and there. Thanks Levi.Com!! You guys rock.

The "Shrink-to-Fit" was inconsistent

I sized up the waist and inseam according to the website's guidelines. After the first hot soak, the waist and inseam were perfect, but the seat and thighs were very baggy. I was a little concerned about further shrinking with more hot water, but the waist and inseam remained perfect. Unfortunately, the rest of the jeans only got slightly less baggy. I get a better fit with the non-StF 501's.

I studied how they made them vs the 150's and they are outstanding. I measured the waist and length and they're spot on. Fabric is great. Haven't washed them yet, have worn them about 15 times so they get used to me. Made in Mexico. Really great!

This particular model has been around for over a century and a half; I'm not that old, but I've been purchasing and wearing them for over 60 years myself. They're such a reliable fit that you can purchase them on line with total confidence that they will fit exactly like your last pair that wore through the knees after all those years and became a pair of cutoffs. One of the greatest products from one of the world's greatest brands!

The quality of 501s has taken a nose dive in the past couple of years. The inside seam used to be double stitched now it's single. The hem on the bottom of the leg has gotten thinner as well. I would really like to be able to buy a pair of 501s like they made even 5 years ago. Disappointed.

I've been wearing Levi's 501 for over 50+ years and won't wear any other type of jearn. The only problems I have found with todays jeans are they don't last as long as they use to and they wear out in the crotch at the bottom right below the fly, the belt loops tend to separate or tear from the denim it is attached to,I have a way to mend without disgarding and the hem on the back side seems to always roll up, not as wide as there as they used to be. The denim is not what it use to be and as an oldster I know quality from then to now. I'm not the same and all thing change so Levi's are still the choice. Levi's need better consistancy in the fitting area, no two pair are the same fit. Have not tried made in the USA yet and I willing to spend the $$$ if Icoud find in a retail store in the L.A. area to try on an not order just for the fact can't trust the fit. After all this will still only wear 501s. Only 3 star because I remember what they use to be. C.Hill

Comfort and quality. Higher waist, especially in the back, keeps the jeans hanging on top of the hip bones, rather than sliding off them with mid rise pants. It also makes shirts stay tucked and retains body warmth in the small of the back. The fuller leg makes motion easier, gives more insulation, and slips easily over boots. You can work in these and not have to keep hoisting them up. Good thick-enough fabric makes them durable. All cotton, no cling.

I bought this pair of 501's about 3 months ago. The denim isn't as thick as it used to be. The inner thigh riped within a month. Without any wear and tearing at the rip. I've been a 501 wearer for the last 30 years. Please bring the quality back.

I found 501s to have best overall fit for comfort and appearance...it takes time to get used to button fly, but they work better after a couple washes..they DO tend to ride a bit lower than 505s, just like 514's The button fly seems to enhance the crotch while the general cut of 501s leave a bit of loosness in the thigh for freedom of movement Tho a bit smaller in waist, they stretch out a bit where you need---I always wear them damp out of the dryer so as they dry, they conform to me like a glove

The material is ridiculously thin compared to just a few years ago, the crotch wears out in two or three months oh, and it's hit or miss on the sizing. Quality control issues are non-existent anymore with Levi's. So sad this used to be the go-to brand for everybody!

I have an athletic build, 6' with a small waist and large seat/legs. Was a fan of the 501CT before they discontinued the non-stretch tapers. As a 33" waist, I usually wear 32x32 501s, but needed more room in the seat and thigh. Bought two pairs of STFs in 33x34. Used the tub method on one, and washer/dryer on the other. Both shrunk just about the same amount in the waist, seat, thigh, and length (to about 32"). The bottom opening stays pretty wide, so I had them tapered down to 7" from the knee. The pants were snug at first, but got looser everwhere over time until washed again. Another great feature: if you buy up a size like this, you get a somewhat higher rise. At my height (and certainly above), low-rise pants look ridiculous and are uncomfortable unless you let them sag. This is pretty much the only way to get normal-rise, non-stretch pants that still have a decent fit.

Have bought one pair few years ago, it was tinner denim then my old levis, but they was cotton, so after they get ripped decided to buy new one. pair that i recieved it is even not a cotton. it flickers on sun like cheap sinetics and i'm alergic to sintetic after wearing them for a full day, my legs turn red and i have burning filling on my skin

I have not bought Levi's in almost 15 years due to many factors. Weight being one. The two pair I purchased online are the exact jeans I remember from my earlier years. They fit me and my big butt, perfectly. The baggy/torn/bleached trendy pants ( I will not call them jeans) are not attractive in my opinion. Levi's are the best fitting jeans out there.

I love Levi jeans, but this is the second pair I have bought where the waistband has been ruin by deeply embedded folding and creases. I know this cannot happen to new fabric no matter how much stone washing it has gone through. The folding/creasing points always occur in the same places (in the front over the legs, along the sides, over the belt loops).....as if a stout individual with a beer belly wore them over the course of a few years. I have had kind of professional attempt to remove the creases in the waistband, but all were unsuccessful. None of these professionals believed new material was used to create the waistbands as the creases were permanently embedded. I find the rolling down of the waistbands an uncomfortable and unattractive feature.

I bought these for my bf one size up in the waist and an additional 4 inseam. Even after soaking in hot water and wearing to dry, they were huge. So wrband then machine washing and dried hot - still huge! I'd honestly size down??? The quality is good, but I'm going to have to buy another pair.

These are by far one of the best if not the best pair of jeans I have ever worn. They feel so comfortable and they fit me perfectly. They look great when I wear them with my sneakers or even dress shoes. They also look amazing when I wear them with my navy blue sweater or a denim jacket. What a great product.

Have worn Levi’s for decades. Within the past three months have bought two new 501s - one was nearly 2” longer than my 3-yr old 501s and the other was 2” longer AND waist was over 1” too big. It appears there are some quality control issues or is it vanity sizing?!

As a teenager, trends and fashion is easily one of the most important things we have to show our own individuality. When I picked up my 501's, I was extremely happy. They fit perfectly even after I washed them. I ordered the color in 'Tidal Blue', and they nailed the color perfectly. Sporting some original 501's just tops off every outfit and I love 'em. It feels good knowing I have a pair of jeans that look awesome, feel great, and will last a long time. Plus, knowing you're wearing THE original jean makes you feel superior.. and that's always a good feeling.

I bought 2 pair and tried them on when they arrived. The fit was good but there were large brown spots on both pairs. I didn't think much about it I figured they would wash out, but instead the fabric came apart wherever these stains were.

I've been with my husband for 22 yrs, and he would not go anywhere without wearing 501 Levi's. One instant, we went to church and one of our member was a insurance agent, and He believes that you need to wear church pants and not Levi's. My husbands comment was " I love my Levi's pants at anytime and remember my Levi's is more expensive than your slacks " That's the way my husband attitude when it comes to his favorite Levi's. Lost a significant amount of weight and I could FINALLY fit into Levi's products!!!! Comfortably even - and I finally decided to get some button fly jeans because I've always envied them - well I do enjoy the fit. With 501's I can buy 36" 30 inseam - they are comfy and are hugging my form well. Enjoy owning some real button fly jeans.

The quality seems good, but I am disappointed that they don't fit like my old 505s. The rise seems to have been reduced a bit. I tried to order another pair but my size (34W29L) has disappeared. Why? I am not an unusual size or shape.

I’ve worn 501’s for 40 years. The material and fit have turned to crap. They all separate at the seam in the crotch area, I’ve heard this from a lot of men. It’s almost like a pre- designed failure point , you can forget having jeans that have the great 501 fade, they won’t last that long!

I recently lost about 40 lbs, so I'm wearing some that have been in a box for a few years, and some that are new. I've had some issues with waist size variations, so I prefer to try them on in a store instead of mail order. I like the button fly because I think it creates some extra give that helps them contour for a more custom fit.

I am happy with the jeans I purchased for the most part. I am just disappointed that I can no longer get the Levi Raw Denim jeans that I love so much. I guess all things come to a end eventually and the 501's I got are fine. But when you get used to something and then it's gone all of a sudden, it's kind of disappointing. About 2 months ago I bought some original 501’s expecting them to shrink 2 inches in waist and length. They did not. Last month I bought some black pre-shrunk 501’s that fit great and a smaller pair of the shrink to fit. Again they did not shrink.

Just received these 501’s and couldn’t be more happy! From the broken in feel, random worn thru spots, and button fly , I’d give these a 10 out of 10! It’s like coming home for me, since I wore these in high school ....... 40+ years ago! Keep on keepin’ on Levi’s !

The material of the jeans fell unpredictably two sizes at the waist and did not shrink at all in length. The shrinkage instructions do not correspond to the actual situation. This jeans model is a complete mistake. very upset.

I've been wearing these all my adult life (I'm 78), and other than the fabric change—from a coarser, heavier material back then to a more light-weight fabric over the years—they still have the same high quality I expect. They last me even longer now then when I was more active in my youth, which is a little disappointing. Carpe diem!

I ordered 42x34 (I'm 40x32) based on the recommendation of the Levi brand. The waist shrunk up nicely, but the length was slightly longer than expected and the legs were way to baggy for my liking. Based on my experience of having a bigger waist and shorter legs, I should have known that they would be baggy. The jeans are now in the process of being altered to relieve the baggy look and feel. I put them in the wash on hot and wore them damp. Then I line dried them. The indigo color did not fade at all. The price, service and experience with order online was great.

those jeans fit perfectly on me. legs are slim and very stylish. very satisfied with the purchase. the color looks great even it is just simply black. one thing to note is that lots of dog hair attach to the jeans when i am snuggling with my dog. so be careful about that... otherwise, a great pair of jeans

The ad said original - I thought that meant shrink to fit - it did not so I got stuck with two pair that do not fit even after washing in hot and dry in hot . So I went back and made correction until shrink to fit. Finally obtained what I have been wearing for 40 years. Orginal does not mean shrink to fit.

501s used to need to be broken in. The denim in this pair is so thin I doubt they'll stand up for a year's worth of washing. Really disappointing to see. Time to find a new jean supplier; maybe Wrangler is worth another look. Levi's is not.

Levi's quality control is non-existent. I can try on three of the same model/size from the same store and the fit will be different on all three. It also seems that everything trends to 'skinny' anymore so finding 505s or 501s that are cut like the 511s is near impossible. Answering the questions about 'fit' or 'would I recommend this product,' you definitely need to try on each pair in store and hope you find one or two out of a bunch that fit.

Any jeans I could find that fit my 36 inch inseam and athletic build were cheap stretchy feeling jeans and most cost 100-200 that only were decent quality. I've been shy towards jeans for years and years. Recently got a job where jeans are the way to go vs dress pants or my old ragged comfy sweats or shorts. I decided to throw a bit of faith in the original 501s and ordered 4 pair (one size up from what my 34 inch waist would suggest for the sake of the tree trunks). Just tried one on and WOW I should have gone for the OG jean years ago! QUALITY build, and super comfy even without breaking them in! My lady loves the way they look on me also.

Bought these Levi jeans ab’t a 3 weeks ago Much to my surprise the fly had buttons rather than a zipper. I purchased many different styles of Levi jeans over the past 3 decades, but I never noticed they made em with a button fly. Difficult to unbutton & difficult to button. The jeans in general seem to be of decent quality, but a button fly instead of a zipper is a big no-no in my closet. I will cut these up and use em up for rags when I’m doing maintenance on my cars & motorcycle Because of the button down fly I can only give em a 2 star rating.

Many moons ago, a 33x36 pair of (7) belt loop shrink-to-fit button-fly Levis fit me perfect. Today's Levis have only (5) belt loops. Not good. Pants sag between back loop span. To get a 2005 fit in 2019, I bought 34 x 34, and when shrunk they're just a little too short. I bought 34 x 36 and the fit is proportionally larger. Even when washed hot and fired in the dryer, the pants fit looser in the seat legs, looking exactly like the "old man jeans" I was trying so hard to avoid. Bum.....mer

Fantastic product. No noticeable Covid-excuse-quality-dip compared to my other 501s, which are still somehow kicking after a decade regular use. As with all jeans, working on your knees is kryptonite and they will rip after a few months of that.

I ordered two pair of 501 jeans--same identical style and measuerments, only different washes. The darker ones are an exact fit, but the lighter ones are an inch too large in the waist. After washing in hot water, they remain too loose. What gives? As far as quality goes, these jeans are top rate. Old school in the best possible way. (No stretch denim for me!)

These jeans are amazing. The color is excellent, a little faded, not that solid black color like jeans usually are. Looks really, reallly nice! I really hope they bring them back!! The pictures on this site show calaveras and black paw looking pretty much the same. I bought both, and calaveras looks much better, in my opinion. Black paw is more of a darker, flat black. This one is more faded, and lets a little of the white thread show through to give it a really nice textured look.

They fit perfectly. I got what I expected, I especially like the quality of the material. My size 36 x 34, if you take a measurement size - waist 36, length 33.5 (but it's in the aisles of the standard). This model can be ordered online and do not be afraid of the size of the error. The only thing I did not like it a bit - sticking threads inside (especially a lot of inside pockets). But overall I am very satisfied.

Levis is not what it used to be the stitching has changed in the rear pockets also stitching comes loose and the rear pockets create holes right by the top of the pocket why can't levis fix this problem and also if they could make most of them in the U.S. that would be great and not charge a lot for some American made jeans . They need to go back to the way they were. I remember I bought some 501 levis back in 2009 and that's when they were last seen without the curves on the stitching on rear pockets. If Levis goes back to the way jeans were made back then then I will buy more but from now on Ima just wear what I have and look for a more durable brand

These are your classic 501 jeans. They fit nicely, look good, and last for a while. I bought the black ones which work great in casual and semi-casual settings. I've worn them for work (heavy lifting and moving) and they're still feeling good with no tears. Some of the more washed looks tend to develop holes and wear quicker, so keep that in mind.

I have been wearing 501s for fifty years. In that time , there have been a lot of changes with the jeans. Currently, I feel they are at their worst! No two pairs marked with the same size are exact. I wear a 36 inch inseam. Recent purchases have varied in length by as much as three inches. Some store bought 501s I have purchased marked as 34 inch inseam are longer than 36 inches! The cut of most of the jeans I have purchased online are terrible. Some are baggy at the waist, some are tight. Pocket sizes differ. Some legs are tapered! Fix this, Levis!

It is nearly impossible to find anything that fits off the rack when you are a 5'4" man. I wear jeans pretty much every day, but I'd long ago resigned myself to the notion that only one variable would ever fit right. Inseams are always too long, so I wear them cuffed. LOVE the Levi's 501 jeans! They are sooo sexy! Love the button fly! Have been wearing 501's for 31 years! Been wearing them since I was a college student in the late 1980's! I always have a hard-on when I wear my tight 501's! They always fit great, and look great! I have some 15-20 pairs! They look great with my polo shirts! They are a time-honored classic! I've never worn any other jeans! No zippers for me! Love the stitching on the back pockets, too! And the red tab on the right back pocket looks great, too! My favorite wash/color is the medium stonewash! Love the 501 shorts, too, and those great and sexy Trucker jackets, too! Love the men's belts and the 501 t-shirts, as well! Stores do not carry my size (35/34). The 34/34 don’t fit me and 36/34 are too baggy and look bad. The only way to get my size is to buy them online. The delivery was fast and the price is reasonable.

Perfect Pair of Jeans. Follow the intructions on how to order the size. I put jeans in a tub of water by themselves for an hour and a half. Warm water. Took them out. Put them on and wore them til they dried. The fit is awesome.

I was happy to be able to buy these jeans online but it is just too confusing. The description says 501® Original Fit Jeans. There are also many other 501 products such as Original, Shrink to Fit, and Stretch. These jeans have a hole near the knee and I didn't want them with a hole. Should say "distressed" so I know they may have a hole. Colors are confusing. Would buy more but honestly the descriptions are too confusing. Not happy with purchase. Don't think I will try this again.

I’ve been a original501 button fly wearing lover for 40 tread years. Best comfort; fit and wearing feel ever. My sadness comes from every new pair I buy last 8 years; the denim thickness is thinner and thinner. The ones were thicker denim and got softer each wear and wash process. Now one doesn’t need to wear and wash to slow softness. The denim is really thin to start with now a days. It used to take about 6 mos to a year of washing to feel this thin. Soft thickness to start with. I’m concerned about how tuff they are now in the country working world. Still love the style and fit but price to texture life——not so much at the price. Wear and tear life won’t last like the used too. Comfy jeans but not as rugged...

These are much different than the 501 jeans I’m used to buying. They have a tapered knee and thigh and fit more like slim straights. Wish I would have known before I paid so much for them. It doesnt mention anywhere in they’re advertising that they made changes. And I’ve looked on numerous forums as well as tik tok where I found similar claims. These are great jeans if your into a slim striaght. If you’re looking for straight leg denim jean, I recommend trying something different.

This is no longer the original shrink-to-fit. The double stitching is gone and the hems are so skimpy they roll up. The quality of the fabric has been getting worse for years. Very disappointing for a product that is Levi's signature garment. I won't be buying any more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing 501s for the past 3 years. I haven't found anything that's as flattering as these are. I'm 5'6" and 160-165 lbs with an athletic frame, my jean size is 30X30. I have them in several different colors, including 18 month green, light stonewash, medium stonewash, broadway, and timberwolf. The stonewashes and broadway are very sturdy denim and, while they stretch over time, they're much more rugged than the 18 months green and timberwolf. These are perfect in the waist and length. They don't tend to sag over time as I wear them and they have just one break above the shoe. The only fitment issue is that they are just a tad snug on my thighs. If there was another 1/2-1" room in the thigh, they would be absolutely perfect. Considering that, I've yet to find a pair of jeans that are as reasonably priced, look as good, and fit as well. I ordered three different pairs of 501s at the same time, these, a black pair and a shink to fit. Obviously the STF are the sturdiest but the black ones are also a fairly thick material. Both were made in Mexico. These, while the look fantastic and fit just right, are much thinner than other 501s I have and resemble an older pair of 514s that have since worn out in the crotch. Both these and the 514s were made in China. Huge difference in material, but great looking. My summer jeans I suppose.

A bought a pair of rigid shrink to fit 501s, let them soak in hot water and threw them on after drying. Worked great and now they fit like a glove. Tight at first of course but I'm looking forward to seeing how they fade given the rigid fabric. This is the same as back in the 1970s as far as I can tell. That is the the 501 Rigid STF shrink to fit. I get 1" big in the waist, 2" in the inseam. The shrinking and stretching process takes care of a perfect fit eventually. If you get the pre worn out versions the waist is lower, the fabric is thinner, and just not as good. Some girl many years ago said to me my jeans don't look real - but that was just because they were brand new. A pair of jeans needs to earn its reality. !!

After wearing 501 shrink to fit Levi's for 40 years, I'm done. The quality is horrible. Inconsistent sizing, poor workmanship-is there any quality control? The 3 pairs I bought a few months ago are a joke-after washing they look like an accordion, with bleached out wrinkles. The inside seams are only single stiched! They are unwearable.

501s were my favorite jeans for decades. They always fit perfectly and looked great. Now they’ve changed the design and 501s have a saggy butt and narrower leg. They no longer look good on and they don’t feel comfortable. My old ones still look great but I’ll never buy a new pair again. These are going to goodwill. What a shame Levi’s. I can’t imagine this change will help you in the long run.

I always look forward to getting a new pair of Levi's. It means I can promote my current "good pair" to "working jeans". Levi's are the best work pants I've ever use. I think it's those riveted pockets, strong denim, & button fly (don't need to mess with a zipper). I plan to continue buying "Shrink-to-Fit" 501's because of their strength & versatility; they fit good & they look good too. I like the "Shrink-to-Fit" jeans because they're stronger. When jeans are washed after they're stitched together the seams & fabric shrink into a tighter bond. This means they don't wear out or fray as quickly as others. I had one pleasant surprise when I got this new pair . . . They smelled right. Shrink-to-Fits in the old days (at least ten years ago, or more) had a distinctive aroma; kind of a cross between the smell of new canvas and toasted hominy. This new pair had the weight, heft, & sturdiness of earlier versions of Levi's; and they smelled good too. I don't know what they did different; but . . . Levi's got it right (again).

I love these classic 501's. My only issue is, the RED TAG on the back pocket doesn't say "Levis" anymore. Just the registered trademark "R" symbol. Beyond that, no issues. Keep doing your thing!

I wasn’t really impressed with the material. I only wear 501 Levi jeans, and have been for years. I assumed the material was all the same. It’s not. These are definitely thinner than the rinse, stonewash, or black, I usually get. They look ok. But definitely not as tough as what I expected from Levi. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for a work jean, which I think is ironic, since that’s exactly what 501 jeans were originally for.

Over the last year, I've been searching with decreasing success for old stock of the deeper pocket 505's in stores. The last pair I successfully found was one of three pairs I ordered from a department store, back on May 9, 2014. The other two pair were shallow pockets, and I returned them. I have included a photo of the results of that order from May 2014. I put four identical knives on top of the pockets so you can see exactly how much different the size of the pockets are. The two pairs on the left are the new shallow pockets. The third pair from the left is the only pair from my dept store order that had deep pockets, and the final pair on the far right is an older pair I had bought in 2013 that also had deeper pockets. Since then, I've tested literally dozens of pairs of 505s in different department stores in Washington state, Oregon, and California, and all of them have had shallow pockets. I tested at least 20 pairs at a mall yesterday in the LA area, putting my hand in each pair's left pocket, and they all had shallow pockets. I previously had a Galaxy S3 smartphone, and it barely fit in the new shallow pockets. Now I have the slightly larger Galaxy S5 smartphone and of course it doesn't fit either. Apple has just come out with new bigger iPhones; I'm sure they wouldn't fit in this shallow pockets. Yet Levi's has at the same time shortened their pockets' depth! If I try to sit in these new jeans with a modern smartphone in the front pocket, the edge of the phone cuts into my midsection. Very uncomfortable. What does Levi's expect customers with smartphones to do? Stuff them in the back pocket and sit on them?!? Imagine the cracked screens that would result.... Unless I get lucky and find a pair of 505s in a store that were made in 2013 or earlier, I guess I'm going to have to try and find a different brand of jeans, with more practical/useful pockets, to wear.

Maybe Levi says these are all cotton, but odds are they are a cotton/poly blend. They show a magnetic attraction to cat hair and lint which my truly cotton and wool clothing does not. Otherwise..well made. and a good fit.

There’s a sizing issue for me with the regular 501 jeans; therefore, I decided to purchase the Levis 501 shrink to fit hoping to mitigate that problem. The waistline shrunk about one inch and the length of the inseam approximately shrunk two inches which is fine. After several warm washes the dark indigo blue color has a normal fading, but retains the dark hues which still adds a slight contrast when the light hits the jeans in a certain angle. I am okay with the fit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Me: 170 lbs; 6'-1" 30/34; light stone wash Quality - Good, I'm happy with the weight and design of this jean. The material and cut give this options to be dressed up, dressed down, or field ready for light to medium work. The color is a good light jean, not overly washed or worn looking, making it good for every day events. Size - The jeans are longer than others at the same length, I imagine this accounts for sitting higher on the waist. The waist is a bit large for a higher rise jean, causing them to sit at mid. The crotch build is a slight bit short (1/4" - 1/2") but not uncomfortable.

Just a few things to keep in mind: I always buy them in the same colour, not only because it's the colour I prefer, but also because I've found there's variation on sizing and fit between colours while trying them on in store. Different sourcing, maybe? But buying online, same colour, I've never had any problems. These jeans also tend to run a little long, which I personally love, but just something to keep in mind if you are not familiar with this style.

I've been wearing levi's 505 for 15 years and unfortunately they are now different. The most recent pair of 505 "originals" had lower pockets, thinner cuffs, and a looser fit; the waist also seemed to sit lower. I tried a pair of 501's (never liked the button fly) and they have a different fit now, as well. I'm not some grouchy, old man, who cannot accept change. However, I've always felt the 505's were a comfortable, clean fitting jean that I can wear for work, leisure, travel, hiking, camping, i.e. everything.....that isn't skinny or baggy. You guys have plenty of different styles for whatever is trendy, please leave the "original" alone.

How can the cut of these "original fit" jeans be so far off from what they used to be? The last few pairs I've bought were about right in the legs but above that was 2-3 inches taller than my older ones, which totally changed the fit. Really unhappy at the change from the actual original fit.

GOT MY NEW 501 PRESHUNK MED BLUE, THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS BUTTONS WAS HARD GETTING THEM IN THE LOOPS, SO I CUT THE LOOPS SO I WAS ABLE TO BUTTON, BUT I CUT THEM TO MUCH NOW THE LOOPS ARE CUT ALL THE WAY THROUGH, SO I MESSED MY NEW 501 UP .

i have always purchased 501's, however the last two time i have received these jeans, i have noticed that the quality at the belt loops is lacking. The loops seem to break randomly, whether new or after a few washes. I now have 6 pair of jeans purchased because the loops fail. it could be a back loop, or a side loop, and it does not seem to be specific to a side of the jean.

They fit great and look great. I am 5'7", 160 lbs. and in great shape and my jean size is usually between 32x30 to 30x30. I bought a pair of 31x30s and they fit perfect. I don't want to wear any other cut of jeans now. They are on the skinny side in terms of jeans though, but that's what I like.

I never had a pair of 501's that I was able to see through the leg seams which were almost 1/8th inch apart. Is this a new, open-air, summer style? I don't think they will hold up in the long run... I suggest using Levis Premium quality as a guide for all your jeans. Those are always fantastic... The return was easy, as it always is at Levis.

Probably my last 501's. The overall quality is just average. The fabric is thinner, the stitching is poor in some places and they are not shrinking the right amount. Overall, not worth the money.

The hip pockets aren't as deep as they were three years ago. I've been wearing 501s, and only 501s, since the mid-80's. (Still 32" waist), and I know when corners are being cut. I have pictures of prior pairs side-by-side with the latest, black and blue stonewash. Otherwise, still great.

Now, the new pair that I received recently: the fabric feels thicker. Not as good as it was in 1980ies, but as good as it gets these days. There's new stitch around the fly. Buttons are lighter and thinner now. I like the buttons on my old 501. Result - 4 stars. Leg length is as expected. I am quite happy with this purchase. #win501

I really REALLY like these pants. I would give them 5 stars if it weren't for a weird and awkward discoloration right on the fly area that brings attention to my crotch. I imagine it was just an unlucky fold that caused it. I ordered them from the website so I couldn't see it and try another pair like I would have in a store.

I have never seen such a bad quality of jeans before. Too thin fabric, patchy, not even color, the red label on the back pocket is sewn back to front, tight in the crotch, the inseam is longer than stated. It is impossible to wear these trousers. What does it mean? What is it? Formerly you used to make perfect jeans.

My husband has worn 501 jeans for years. Thery were the best jeans for men who do a lot of rugged work. (i.e.) working cattle, fixing fence, all types of farm work. Now they are thin and on one of his new pairs one leg is longer than the other. My brother-n-law just purchased a pair of these and he is also complaining about the length and how thin they are. I don't know what has happened but someone has really messed up on the quality control. He says these are city slicker jeans and will not hold up to the kind of work these guys do.

Strong construction (you might want to put them on and jump in the bath tub, then allow them to dry), great fit, it seems like they never need washing. They pair well with running shoes, dress shoes, and boots. I highly recommend these jeans... seeing that I own 3 pair.

I wear Levi's about 85% of the time. Original 501's are my best fit and look great even after many washings. My recent order was for 3 stonewash pairs of jeans in 3 different shades. The dark stonewash was small for its size, so I did return those to a Levi Store. Thanks for keeping your products at very high quality!

I couldn't even get that size the last time I ordered in the color he wanted so I had to go with 30x36. They fit ok he just has to wear a belt. Wish I could order the right size for him in the color he likes. I feel like all the sizes should be available in all colors.

I prefer Levis 501 Jeans . I nlike the fit and button fly. No other manufacturer does a buttun fly. I've been wearing them for over 50 years why change now. Several times I tried other manufacturers jeans ended up not wearing them.

Levis without the double inseam? Cuff is so narrow it rolls up. Do not expect the same quality as the Levi products of years ago. . I bought one pair to try, I had planned to buy ten pair. I'll try another brand but I expect the experience will be much the same.

I have three pairs - rigid, black, and monk's robe. They are all 34x30 but the fit is very different on each. It all works out though, you can shrink them to your needs, which is interesting. But these pants are strong, the only pants that last me more than a year without repairs. I like how they break in, develop shape and fade over time.

The new cloth that they are using is too lightweight. It does not have the same feel as the original denim. I suspect that it will not wear as well. Also, I see from the tag that the cloth contains a plastic — we do not need more plastic in this world.

Though I'm not a big fan on non-shrink to fit jeans, I found these very comfortable and flattering. It has just enough stretch at the waist and throughout the legs where it doesn't feel like you're wearing the cheaper "active sport" branded jeans (leggings for men). Will consider buying more in the future.

I bought these because they were under the shrink to fit category. They are not; thus, they are too big for me. Otherwise, no problems. The medium stonewash color looks like your favorite jeans after they are worn in. I am having a tough time finding jeans that fit, but will keep trying. If you know your true size, they might be fine.

Like another reviewer I was disappointed in them when they arrived as the main descriptor says original fit. When the arrived the had warp stretch on the tag. I'm sure I'll enjoy them and got them for a fantastic price, just be sure you always read the detailed description as i obviously didn't.

My entire family (6) wears original Levis jeans. My husband works in them. I lime and hang out in them and so does my children and sons in law. Not forgetting my 7 year old grand son. It is durable, long lasting, wears in any event,stands the test of any detergent in washing, and most of all , turns heads where ever you goes. It gives a comfortable fit , soft on the body and most of all, you can get any type of cut to fit that special occasion. (boots cut, straight cut, tapered cut,etc

Not of the same quality as when I first started wearing Levies. The fit is bad, the button holes frayed after just one washing. I threw them out. Never again. Sad to see an old American company go down hill.

The pants are completely different than the last pair I purchased.

I love Levis. I always have. I won't be giving up, but I'm disappointed in the variation of product, I must say. Though all the codes are the same, i.e. WP-423 and CA00342, the fit is completely different. The pant below the knee is like a half inch or more wider (feels like a bell bottom now) and the wash is different enough to make me wonder and question did I order a different jean and I keep going online to see was there a different fit that I may have gotten, but that's not the case.

I have worn 501s forever. Well over 30 years. They have changed!!! They are now cut very loose and baggy compared to what they used to be. Very upsetting and they look bad. The material isn't stiff like real denim.

For several years I have been wearing 505 jeans because I was sick of dealing with the buttons. This time I wanted to see if the fit was better in my old 501's. For me there is too much room in the 505 so I guess I will just have to deal with the buttons and go back to the 501.

The fit of these jeans are amazing! Their longevity is great, too! I bought my first pair 2 years ago, and I barely bought a new pair not because I had to but because I wanted some new ones. Over the 2 years, the color BARELY faded, if at all; dry clean them, though, that way the color can last.

The body has changed shape. When young, I had an outdoor job in northwest Wyoming for seven years, so was in good shape and jeans were the normal workwear. 501s were sort of high-cost, but fit well, held up, and I always had a pair or two. By now, in Florida,the body is lumpier and a couple of "medium weight denim" 559s are at the end of their useful lives, of course perpetually soggy in summer and battered by garden/landscaping work around spiny plants, pruning work, etc. The latest 501 is the right relaxed fit to take their place, which means serious abuse and stains. An alternative might have been the seemingly indestructible polyester work pants of years past, but they seem to have kind of vanished.

I recieved the order in a timely manner. The jeans I ordered were a dark stonewash. They were not dark they were medium color. Did not send them back but will probably go back to watching for a sale at Sears so I see what I"m getting.. They look half worn out alreadly. Levi;s are great have always worn them

I went out on a limb and bought me two pair of these pants and by far it was an eye opener. The best pair of jeans, pants in general, that I have ever purchased. They last and dont fade if cared for per the instructions. Turns out I spent more on the pants I was supposedly saving on as they did not last as long as the 501's. I was a die hard Levi fan but for last few months, most of the products I bought are having serious stitching and fabric quality issues. The denim is so thin and vulnerable, it tears at the pressure points. This is a serious issue and I hope Levi would take immediate action to improve the quality of its products.

My partner usually wears a 32 inch waist, but had 1 pair of 33's. This is for all sorts of jeans. Because of a skin condition which improves when his jeans are a little bigger at the waist, I ordered the 33's. It is a good thing I did! I was amazed at how small these ran. Advice is order the next waist size UP from what you usually wear to assure the correct fit.

Not the biggest button fly enthusiast, but I really like the weight, the fit, the feel, and the looks of these medium stonewash jeans. Have bought a bunch of new Levis recently, but these remind me so much of the "old" Levis I used to wear that I can live with the buttons. Most of my new ones are 514s, which fit quite well, but haven't found the style that looks and feels like these 501s. Don't know how the other 501s are, but I definitely recommend these!

I believed I was getting 501 'shrink to fit' but I did get Original 501 and they are way too long and a still too wide; even though I have several times washed and dried them in hot water and hot dry. Been wearing shrink to fit for over 50years. Discovered when I put in "shrink to fit" in search engine I do come up with the correct Levis. gained little so ordered 1 size larger in waist.

I think Levi jeans are best, they keep their form after every washing, they look great and fit well. They draw lots of eye contact from the interested to you, the wearer. They are great to kick around in or for work. I used to do Wranglers, but, as with time, things improve. Wranglers are good jeans but, Levi is the best and I always by Levi, for the sexy sleek look that everybody likes. Thank you Levi Strauss for the best jeans on the market, soooo many styles and descriptions.

I used to wear nothing but 501s and they always remained at the top of my list of favorites even though I hadn't purchased any in a few years. I was excited for these to arrive, and rushed to wash them so I could wear them that night. What a disappointment!!!! These are not the same jeans I remember!! The cut is all different, the butt is saggy and fits really oddly, the crotch hangs down way too low. A real disappointment and a waste of money. I might cut them off and wear as shorts - but most likely I'll just never wear them again.

I have always loved my 501s. The pair I recently bought are great except the top button hole was stitched incorrectly such that the stitching was floating in the middle of the hole and preventing me from unbuttoning my jeans. The first time I wore these pants was on a camping trip so I had to cut out the stitching and restitch the hole.

I have been wearing levi's jeans as far back as I can remember, and have always been happy with this line of jeans.Until this last order that I placed online. The jeans were a little to snug and they are my regular size. Another problem was the stitching a couple of the belt loops broke on the second wear. My wife and I are looking into other brands for our family at this time. So thank you levi for many good years,but it may be time to move on. As I travel for work and must be presentable at all times.

I ordered the same size of 501 shrink to fit that I have worn for years but no matter how many times I wash them or superheat dry them they are still much bigger than my old pairs that are the exact same size according to the label. I will continue to wear and wash and dry them and I can only hope that eventually one day they will shrink enough to be the size they say they are. I don't know what happened but I am disappointed.

Overall happy with the purchase. The color is perfect and very stylish. Prior to these, recently purchased same size black 501s 93s in store after trying on. The regular 501s purchased online fit looser and the material is notably thinner than the 93s. This is subjective, but was a disappointment for me. That's why I rate them 4 stars. In the future, I would buy another pair of 93s if they're available in the indigo (very dark blue) color.

Color and fit are really good. Very high quality. The larger sizes need to be a bit higher waisted for the butt.. otherwise they come across low rise. Bought for my hubby and he could not wrap his head around the button fly

I bought the white Levi's for my boyfriend, and he loves them, I did a thorough check of them before i actually gave them to him just to see how well they are made, and honesty they are made nice, the actual stitch on the pants is very strong. The buttons on the front sturdy with a strong stitch, the material feels great, Levi's material always feels good anyway. The size was perfect to fit. The white color is perfect and will go with any kind of shirt and jacket, also will match with any type of shoes. They are very comfortable and lots of room to move around in, the pants as a whole are made excellent and very strong, I would highly recommend if you are looking for a nice pair of white Levi's to wear with pretty much anything! These are great!

I've ordered 4 pair of 501's in the last 2 weeks. All pairs were ordered 32W-34L. Out of the four only one pair fit correctly. The other 3 were different lengths, all longer than 34 and one pair was larger in the waist too. This has happened before. Quality control seems to be lacking. The length of the legs don't even match on one pair. I guess I should order multi pairs and be prepared to send some back from now on.

I've been wearing Button Up Levis 501's for better over 50 years and the present pairs better than a Decade...and that means only 6 pair of 501's I've had for from 10 to almost 20 years, the older ones being reduced to Cutoffs. I'm not easy on my clothes due to the work I do as an electro-mechanical technician in the Railroad industry along with the work I do at home and on the side.

This pair was small and tight in the waist when ordered on line and was a bit loose for the exact same waist and length size when purchased in a store (which is why I buy that size in particular). Not made well, stitching ends coming loose and threads unfinished throughout from Imported standards of finish. Color was very true to pictured.

I bought these jeans with the shrink-to-fit feature because most of the jeans fit a little loose. I wanted to see how these would fit after I shrunk them. Have not had time to do that yet. Even without the shrinking, they still fit nice.

It has been too long. I've worn generic, ill-fitting, plain-pocketed jeans with, yes, a boring zipper fly for far too many years. The moment I put these on I went back in time 20 years to when things made sense, and my jeans actually fit me properly. These rinsed jeans are dark, and that's how I want them. It is my duty to dirty them up, wash them, and watch them progressively fade over the years until they are relegated to yard duty or house painting service. I won't stray again. I was a little wary of the "stretch" aspect of the jeans as some stretch jeans can feel like leggings not jeans, but these do not have that feel. Pleased that these jeans have the look of broken-in jeans but do not look too much like dad jeans. Overall very happy with my purchase.

Got these bad boys a few weeks ago and the very first day i shrinked them right away and followed the instruction tabs. I purchased 2 of them and did one on soak method and other one in machine wash. Purchased it 2 sizes in waist and 2 sizes in length and the results are amazing. Fit nice and 100% utility piece.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For reference I am 5’3” AFAB 28” waist. The modern black is a lovely, uniform color that washed well. I do notice a difference in the thickness (thinner) of the denim used for this wash compared to the other blue style I have, but these were finished better (no fraying at buttonholes, no loose threads) so I have no complaints. I purchased a 31x30 and machine washed and dried for maximum shrinkage (comfortably loose on the waist and thigh after shrinking). Great relaxed jean look, but one thing to note that may be a dealbreaker for some is that due to the shallowness of the butt curve (the part that runs vertically) there was excess fabric on me leading to a bit of a diapery/baggy look that I don’t have on any other jeans. Women’s jeans typically have a greater curve than men’s so def recommend trying before you buy if you’re used to women’s jeans. Will be getting mine tailored.

I usually wear a 32/33W & 36L in regular 501's, so that's what I ordered in the stretch jeans. The length was fine, that waist fit like a 34-36, really big in the waist, while the legs are very tight, almost like skinny jeans. I bought the stretch jeans to wear when riding my motorcycle around town, figuring the stretch would be more comfortable, now I have two pairs of stretch jeans that I can't wear after washing. I'm fairly tall, 5'11" and lean athletic build. Now I have two pairs of jeans that I can't wear, won't stay up on my hips because the waist is so large, pants keep sliding down and the legs, though straight cut, are very tight, especially for my build. Very disappointed in these pants. Guess I'll be donating them to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Buy your regular size inseam if you want a more tailored look, or size up if you wear boots or like more break. The color isn't bad, a decent grey and the general fit is pretty good. I tend to wear a boot cut with my Ariat boots, but these work ok. They're a little baggier/loose than I prefer through the thighs but it's overall a good pair of pants.

Levi's shrink to fit jeans are the only way to find the jeans I had when I was young. They fade perfectly. Additionally, there are no artificial wear marks so the jeans will become custom to my body. Stop looking for perfect jeans and buy these, allowing them to shrink onto your body. It's more than worth the effort. I ordered one inch up on waist and two inches extra on length. NOW THEY ARE PERFECT AND WILL ONLY GET BETTER.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Docking two stars due to poor quality control on this pair of the two I purchased (the other modern black). These were frayed along the edge of every buttonhole and had loose threads along multiple seams. Still wearable but not ideal and my modern black pair didn’t have these defects. For fit notes, I am AFAB 5’3” 28” waist and purchased these in a 30x30. Machine washed and dried for maximum shrinkage as they were quite loose and long on my frame. Once shrunk, they fit well on the waist but were slightly tight on the upper thigh. Have the relaxed boyfriend jean look I’m going for, but I’m not in love with the fit on the butt (common issue with men’s jeans due to differences in the depth of the butt curve compared to women’s jeans) so I will be getting them tailored. Overall a great value

The online shop provides excellent service, the Cowboys were quickly sent several e-mail with follow up messages to let me know the delivery status. I bought these jeans before and there were great. However this time around they did not feel the same nor did the look flattering. I returned them. You need a specific body size to pull these off. For myself, I weigh about 185 and am 5'9. These turned out to be too baggy for me.

Classic fit looks great.

I bought these for my companion because I can order his exact inseam and waist combination from Levis.com. They fit and look great. Can't beat classic black and he loves the button fly look.

Probably the last time I'd shop online for a 501. Cloth material is too thin. I've bought 501's for years and they were never made of this thin cheap material. The year old used 501 is thicker than this one that just arrived.

Original Levi 501 jeans. Fit very well. Looks great. The denim feels lighter than the pair I have from a few years ago. I wonder how they will hold up.

501 RIGID STF My normal size is 32x32. I bought a 32x36 and soaked jeans in hot water for about 60 minutes. Then hung to dry overnight. They came out 32x34. I was hoping the length would have shrunk a bit more, but I cuff my jeans anyway so the extra length is fine. I own the selvedge STF 501's as well and I must say these regular, cheaper 501's came out much better after I soaked them. Selvedge 501's came out misshaped. The hem going down the side of my leg now curves outward towards the front of my leg. And besides the selvedge stripe on the inside, there is really no difference in the quality of denim in both versions. So I recommend these, and if you wanna upgrade look at the LVC line instead where the quality is off the charts.

The fit is very nice and overall outlook was fine except the color seems a bit different from the online counterpart. Had a number of 501 before, and never hesitate to buy one again because over the past years; the quality of the jeans had improved further. Recommended for every jeans enthusiasts! Buy Levi's and you won't settle for others :D.

501 shrink to fit. Washed them a couple of times to shrink. Pulled them on the first time and broke a belt loop. Not a good start

I hadn't worn the original button-flys for almost 30 years - that's how far I'd strayed since high school turned into college. Slipping into these Levis as soon as they'd arrived was like reuniting with an old friend! (Even though we're both a slightly different size....)

I bought two pairs of jeans. One pair works just great. The other pair has a top button that is almost impossible to get through the buttonhole. It seems the buttons are two different sizes with the top button being larger than the rest, but the buttonholes seem to be the same size.

This is the first time I've ordered jeans online so I was a little wary. I've traditionally worn 34 waist Levis but the last pair of these I bought in a store ended up being a little tight in the waist and thighs after washing (and I haven't gotten bigger). So I decided to try a 35 waist which I can only find online. The jeans were delivered promptly and right away I noticed how well manufactured these are- and just beautiful (these were manufactured in Mexico). The fit is great, maybe lower rise than the 501's of years ago, and its still a bit trim in the thighs for what I'm used to but there is enough room now so that its comfortable.

I have worn LEVI jeans for over 25 years. I have found nothing to compare them to. I have ordered Black and Rinsed Blue but I am disappointed that LEVI'S doesn't carry a popular color in my size for both the 501 and 505 Jean. My size isn't an extreme size to include in the sizing chart. They carry up to 36X 34 but not 38X34. It's frustrating!!

I ordered the 501, 511 and 512. The 30" waist is different in EACH pair. I had to send the 501 back; they practically fell off! The 511 fit the best by far, the 512 has a HIGH waist.

I have worn Levi 501s in 33 waist 38 inseam (because they shrink) for over 40 years. At the beginning they were made in the USA. The first batch I bought from Shepler's perhaps seven years ago was made in Guatemala. They were perhaps a bit softer initially but ended up the same as all the others, and in their favor the seams didn't twist as much as the USA ones. This last batch was made in Haiti and is a bit stiffer, more like the original USA ones, shrunk exactly as expected, and again, less seam twist than 40 years ago. I hope to be buying 501s for many more years, probably from Shepler's because they have my size and their prices are always good.

Too many buttons on the fly. Too hard to fasten.

bought W28L30 and not happy. great color and fabric quality but just the wrong size. In tghe past i got a 501 size w30 and it just got incredibly loose. Thought a w28 would be perfect but it is just too tight.

I didn't see the "Button Fly" part. Duh. I went to the Levi's Outlet store in Woodbridge, and they returned them for me, though the store mgr. kind of acted like I was from Mars for not knowing that 501's are button-fly. So I got the relaxed fit instead w/ that wonderful thing called a zipper. They're not the "hang low", gangsta type. They're great for a comfortable and casual look.

My jeans are just what I expected, perfect !

Ok so these are not really black, they are greying. So the color is tricky to pair. They look like your 10 year old favorite pair of black jeans that you washed in the washer. Ashy. But the fit is great, the stretch is perfect. Its like buying your old friend.
