    I've been wearing Levi's since I was a kid 50 years ago. Always 501s. I ordered the same pair I did two years ago and they came 4 inches too long. It was too late for me to send them back because I already washed them three times just like I always do.

    I have worn 501 shrink to fit since i was 14, back then it was 28X36. Now they are 36X38 at 52 years old. It has always been hard to find them in the long length i need. All the stores think everyone is short and fat! Glad i found them here.

    1.- The 501 pants don´t has the double sewing in the inlet side of the legs and one leg is turned to inside. 2.- In the back sewing between the 2 back bags has two defectives on the double sewing.

    Nice! I just looked up levi`s call some of the stores by me; same old same thing sizes are not right. I like to have my jeans all one color in the same size; none of the store had what I needed, but online three of the same size and color. I just wish all of the jeans were made in the U.S. O ` P.S in the wash write back in weeks for rest

    When brand new they feel a little strange, but wear them in a hot bath amd WOW! They shrink to your shape for a great fit. Let them dry while wearing them if possible, or remove carefully without disturbing the fabric and hang them out on the line to dry in the sunshine. Don't ever use detergent, a washing machine or tumble dryer. Alway wash while wearing them and they will be your friend forever.

    I have not worn 501s for years, but lost some weight and figured I would try them again. I absolutely love them. The button fly is great – as long as you don’t wear a belt – and the fit is good. This color is distinctive as well. It’s nice to be back in my good ol’ 501s.

    The 501s I bought were a lot more pricey than I remember paying, but I figured, hey, they're LEVI'S. Nope. The fly button broke the first time I unbuttoned them. The inseams are only available in even sizes, so I have to buy WAY bigger than I need, and hope that hot water and drying will shrink them. Got a hundred bucks? Spend it on 4 or 5 pairs of Wranglers. Levi's are a shadow of their former glory. They just don't make 'em like they used to.

    I am 67 and like Levis however, I realized that the color portrayed in the add did not fit my expectation and that button flies were not what I really wanted and that clothing that would shrink was not what I wanted either. Pre-shrunk seems to be better for me.

    These are well constructed and true to size. I have muscular legs & they are snug around the thigh which can make it a bit more difficult to lift my leg as I get into my truck but they are comfortable to sit in. They are well proportioned otherwise especially in the seat and around the waist. These jeans also have a great look and feel.

    I've been buying the same 501 model, same size - 32x32, for almost 20 years. I have bought the same model at many places in Europe, East Coast, West Coast and I knew I could trust the size, that I could buy without even looking. Then suddendly, the 32x32 I bought online this January look and feel like 30x32. I returned the items to a Levi Store, but they wouldn't refund the sales tax. What a shame! VERY disappointed. LEVI cannot mess up with my 501!

    I bought these jeans today. I am very disappointed. They are not the 501 jeans that I used to wear. The material is cheap and the workmanship is horrible. I will never buy another pair of Levi's again. They were my always jeans but not anymore. I am returning these as soon as I can. Why do people have to change a product when it worked so well for so many years.

    I have never seen Levi's so cheaply made. These are not made like the 501's you buy at, say Fred Meyer. The buttons and snaps are not the same quality. The material is thin and the Hem looks like it was sewn by a child. I will NEVER buy online Levi's again. Not the first time this has happened but thought maybe I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Should have taken pictures before they went back.

    Bought my favorite 501 button fly - 1 Dark and 1 Stone Wash - Stone Wash is a much lighter weight fabric - OK - but not a big fan of the material.

    501 original shrink to fit jeans are being made with lighter weight denim material and wear out 50% faster than 501 jeans formerly made in the USA

    While the 501 original shrink to fit rigid jeans being made abroad today look the same and fit the same as the 501 jeans formerly made in the USA, they wear out much faster due to use of a lighter weight denim fabric. Given their huge price increase and their shorter useful life, these 501 rigid jeans have become a luxury fashion item instead of pants worn by average working men.

    I only wear Levi’s 501s and that has been the case for more than 50 years. I recently dropped a lot of weight so the multiple sizes that I own no longer fit. They are still in GREAT condition. But I always wanted a perfect fitting white pair and now I have one. I just love them. And yes, I’m a woman!

    I only wear Levi jeans (501 original shrink-to-fit). I've worn them since the 1950s when they were made for working outdoors. They were fairly priced and long lasting. Now they have become a fashion item, are costly and tend to wear out quickly. All said, I still love my Levis.

    The jeans fit perfectly-aside from the slightly shorter leg, but I am not happy with the bottom leg hems. The last 2 pair I have purchased, don't have the heavy bottom hem, just a single stitched 'foldover' if you will, that doesn't hold shape after washing. They don't lay flat after washing & I have to closthespin the bottoms flat until wearing again & then sometimes they don't stay flat....

    Product is tried and true.

    There is nothing like Levis Original Fit 501s. I've been wearing them for years and they still fit me as if they were custom made. It's the only item of clothing that I can purchase online and know that they'll always be perfect. And so they are.

    I don't buy jeans often, but when I do, I load up on pairs of Levi 501 jeans. The durability of these jeans allows me to go for years before needing to replace them. I purchased three pairs and I expect them to last 4-5 years like my last pairs of 501's. Same great look, same great fit.

    These are always the toughest jeans to wear, as we have softer, more comfortable, cooler looking 501's. And, if you break them in right, beat them to death but wash them correctly, in a year or two they will be you favorite comfy treasure. These are not something I am comfortable wearing in public for a year, they are too hard and dark, and 1955 geek like. These are strong for outdoor or trade work, and soon thes to develop a character that define who you are, and you will be wearing them 5-years later when they are in tatters, because they are "you."

    Made a huge mistake ordering a 501 jeans. Your ad did not mention that this is a button fly jeans. Don't like button fly jeans, never worn them before, hate the hassle of closing these jeans that is why I was forced to return them. This was my first Levis online purchase and at first I was very happy bec I found my size and color I want. This was replaced by disappointment when I opened the package and it was a button fly. Your ads are misleading because it did not make it easy for shopper to know this was a BUTTON FLY JEANS!

The material is resilient and tough, perfect for outdoor use. I find the fit to be a bit tight. It’s likely due to the stiffer fabric. And FYI to those unaware, 501 have the 4 button fly closure. If you want the zipper fly, those are the 505.

    I've worn 501's since I wasin my teens and have worn the same 32" x 32" since I was 20. The wear, comfort, durability, fit and fashion is unchanged. I'm an active and athletic person and Levi's are wear-tested and trustworthly. I've lived in the mountains of the west and the flatlands of the midwest and the 501's can be counted on as an investment in quality and style. I've tried other brands and never kept the product. I've always gone back to what works and wears well. These are my jeans of choice.

    I have been wearing levis since I was a very young kid . These jeans are tough and very nice to wear all in one they have style and class cant find a better pair thank's levi for makind jeans that fit ....

    I really like these and wear them every day but.. they have consistency problems in the crotch area. This goes away with wearing. I recommend buying them but you might need yo go to a store and get different pair in same size. that being said they are great and it might just be that 30x30s are not the most common.

That was the beginning of my forever love of the 501's. At first I only bought the rigid and black, but as I got older, I started listening to artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Wale, and Tiron & Ayomari. They wore and rapped about the 501's. Though my junior and senior year I experimented with the different styles 501's had. The Bbq, grey rigid, black rigid, midnight, the list goes on. Even during my college experience, though gaining a ton of weight, I was able to go too the Levi's website and order from the big and tall. Now being 24 and having lost a general amount of weight where I've tried other cuts of Levi's such as 513's 511's 514's , etc. I can still say that the Levi 501 are by far my favorite jeans. The shrink to fit has that cool fit that sits great on my tennis shoes and boots. Even my dad wears them. We're a Levi family!!!!!

    When I saw that Sheplers had the 501's 5 buttonI thought , what the heck. I had not worn a pair of Levis, in particular, the 5 button front in 50-55 years. I wore them when I was ranching in Arizona, but not the 501's or any Levis for that matter. The problem was sizing. When I looked through the list of sizes that Sheplers had I decided to order several pair. The size is 36 x 36. I have both pre washed and stone washed, for a total of three pair. The metal buttons that gave me a difficult time as a kid, are still driving me a little nuts. The fit after one washing and no hot dryer, just air then inside is great. The Levis quality is still with us. Nice to wear after all these years.

    I bought these for my husband and they’re true to size and fit him well he likes them we were surprised that they were butterfly for whatever reason I missed that part but they’re still nice and fit really good around his waist. The age and measurements I used here are his.

    the inseam is longer than normal and the cuffs are small and curl up I use them for both work and play and the problem that I have is when I'm welding the slag (red hot metal) that falls will get caught in the curled up cuffs. THIS IS DANGEROUS!

    Been wearing Levi's since I was a kid, I'm 70 now. What they're selling today just doesn't hold up. Material is thinner, stitching is poor, sinkage is poor. They get a hole in a New Yorker minute just brush passing sticker bushes. We used to buy the jeans and throw them in the corner of the swimming pool for a few hours and them come back and put them on to dry, they'd shrink to the body and stay that way even after many washing (I know don't wash your jeans, but moms often get in the way) and the chlorine got us the color we wanted. Can't do that with these, they've turned into casual wear for sitting around or walking in the city, forget about the country.

    2 pair were very poorly sewn in several areas . All 4 had a very short unusual seem at bottom of the leg. I have been wearin the 501 shrink to fit for over 60 years and this is the first time I have every had a bad pair . It appears the quality control has been lost . I sure hope this changes . This is too good of a product to be treated like this .

    These fit well and seem to be well made, but the fabric is not as heavy as the 501s I bought even 10 years ago. It feels skimpy, and my last couple of pairs wore through much faster at the knees than I expected. Still, I haven't found another model of jeans that I like better.

    I have another 501 stf from about 10 years ago, made in Santo Domingo. After wearing it for a couple of times I decided to wash it in hot water and dry it in high. The 38x32 shrenk to about 35x30 so I left it on the closed shelf. This time I was prepared about the shrinkage And a couple of weeks ago I bought the 501 stf this time at 40x34. The material seemed very good but the length and waist were large, especially around the hips and the butt area. So I decided to wash it without wearing it. I washed it inside out in the washing machine with cold water 2 times and hang it to dry. After drying I compared it With the old one. I realize that the old one was more rigid and smoother like the recent one before washing and the fabric was thicker. The new one got darker while the old had the color it had before washing. Also the recent one had a couple of little white lines in different areas after washing but not very noticeable. The size turn to 38x32 but still slightly larger around the butt area. It fits nice but I think the fitting could be better. So I placed another order for another 501stf which I received yesterday 10/9/18, this one was made of thinner material and had a (scratch) line across the rear above the knee, this one is going back. Conclusion: the fit of the 501 stf is 90% good the way I like it to fit, and the material is perfect before washing, still almost as thick as my older one. Also the rear pockets get larger with the increase of the pants size.

    I have been buying Levi's 501 jeans for over 30 years because of quality. Each time I buy Wranglers for work reasons I know the results--tears in the stitching around the zipper. I just wish Levi's made flame retardant clothing! I'd be buying everything to stock up on theirs.

I won't say how long ago but I remember when designer jeans first came on the market, and 501's are still here while the others fell away. Back then we would get a new pair, wear them wet, tie them up and drag them behind a bike or car depending on our age then let the magic happen. The results were well worth the effort and made these jeans definitively yours. 501's are a second skin that get better with age. Raw denim is in now, and it may pass, but I guarantee you that 501's will still be around. These jeans are the definition of rawness and become refined by age. They are soft to the skin, hard enough to wear in the worse conditions, fade just-right and last. If that is not iconic, I don't know what is. #win501

    I bought these jeans because my favorite old pair were getting frayed. Now this is a bit of an odd review, not even sure it'll make to the feedback wall. I love Levi's and they are the ONLY jeans I will wear. They last long, are made with quality (not something you see much of today), and built to take a beating. I'm not always gentle on my "everyday" clothing, my Levi's stand the test of time well!! Now here is the odd part, I am a female but I bought the guy's 501 jeans. I looked at the various women's styles offered and although they looked nice, the guys styles always seem to look way more comfortable. {Not to mention, I noticed the men's jeans are built a little more rugged and last longer.} The men's styles were also the only ones that carried the specific color I wanted. Seriously Levi's, the color choices for women always seem be the same four flippin shades!?! So I purchased the mens 501's and had them tailored to fit me better. {I was not happy with the button closure hence the 4 stars, but again thankfully a good tailor was able to make some necessary changes.} They are super comfortable, look good, and wear well. I am really happy with my purchase and will always love my Levi's.

    This is the second time I have purchased the 501 Jean in black and each time after 1 wear and 1 wash the black fades. Even after following the wash instructions exactly as listed on the tag and changing detergent the jean still fades to an ashy black color.

    I've worn 501s off and on for decades. I love them... when they fit. I'm a big fan of the button fly. I recently ordered a 35 waist, but they were so loose that if I pulled down on them they slid right off without unbuttoning anything. So I ordered a 34 waist and they were so tight I couldn't button them at all. I don't get it.

They are thinner material than they used to be & I wear these in hiking, rock climbing, construction, motocross alot of outdoor sports that require a thick heavy duty jean. With that being said at my age of almost 60 jeans are lasting longer so I enjoy the comfort of the lighter weight. #win501

    These jeans are very comfortable, but I wish they were made of a thicker, more durable material. In addition, the seams on the left leg of my pair twisted strangely after washing, so that the inseam and outseam end up more or less on the back and front of my leg respectively. The denim is also strangely mottled, with uneven color throughout. Is it too difficult to make a pair of regular, plain blue jeans that'll last?

    I purchased one pair of 501s in light stonewash, and 2 pair in black. Some time ago I had purchased an additional pair in regular stonewash. The two pair in in stonewash were sized right and about the same as each other. The two black pair were a good 1/2" smaller throughout the waist, hips, and thighs, making them uncomfortable and probably impossible to tuck a shirt into. I notice that the black jeans have a different country of manufacture (Egypt) than the two blue pair (Mexico), so there is a QC problem with either templates or manufacturing. Still the quality is good (although admittedly not up to the same durability standards as when I was a kid) and I recommend them with sizing issues being the only caveat. Thus my 3-star rating.

    I hadn't bought or worn 501's in over 20 years, mostly because I changed vocations. These are great. The fit is nice, the color is good, the button fly is a pain at first but you get used to them and they do get easier to manage.

    If I had had some warning that I would lose 2 inches off the leg after washing I would have ordered a longer size, the waist is great and they would be ideal except for the leg shrinkage. Please sheplers a shrinkage warning .

    The quality of these seems to be higher than the pre-washed 501 jeans I've bought in the last few years. Not sure if it made a difference but these were made in Mexico.

    I love Levi 501 Original Fit Levis!!! When they stopped making them in women's, I went to men's and get the same amazing fit for my very long and lean female body (31w x 34L).     I like white 501 for the contrast of rivets and the Levi's symbolic back patch. Levi's needs to display their changes in 501 over the years. For example, the 501 in 80's was a slim fit, in 90's it was a straighter slim fit, from 2000 to 2010 it was a baggy straight and after words it is again transforming to slim straight. Levi's should not manipulate 501 according to fashion.

    I love 501 I order one for my son, base on the size guide it should be size 40 (his waist is 38") . However when it arrive the jean is really over size. Now I need to order a new one with size 34 which will hopefully fit my son body. Please verify your size guide again

    I used to love my STF 501s. The construction on these isn't terrible but the fabric feels thin and cheap in comparison to Levis I purchased even a few years ago.

    My husband is a very hard worker. He owns his own tree and lawn service, and stays really busy. These jeans and thick and sturdy. We have purchased other brands just to have pockets, knees, crotch ect tip out within a few days or weeks. We will continue to buy Levi Original 501

    These jeans are very comfortable with the stretch. The material definitely seems thinner than traditional jeans so I wonder about their durability but overall I am happy with the purchase.

    I'm a Brit and these jeans retail for around £70 in the UK and I bought them from Sheplers for a little over £20.[...] They are high quality and great value for money.     I wish the marketing people at Levi's could write better explanations instead of the same description for every 501 product. I wound up with 00501-2916. Much thinner material. Not as nice of a fit. If you're looking for something specific find the product number on the tag sewn into your favorite jeans.

I haven't bought anything else since. I have a pair for work and a pair for home, break them in like they should be and wash every 6 months (okay 3 months in summer). I love these pants and can't think of any others I would want.

    These jeans are very amazing, they do shrink just order waist true to size and length 2 sizes bigger. They take a while to dry so either hang or wear dry them and plan ahead. Very good for tough guy look or to work.

    i won't be able to really rate these until i have worn them and then washed them. i have noticed over the years that there are differences in the manufacturing. some fit better than others. i cold water wash and air dry and every pair fits a bit differently. i have noticed the material heaviness has decreased and the waist size has diminished. i am the same weight i was in 1966. same size but have had to add 1 inch to the waste to fit comfortably. same waist size for all other clothing.

    Never dreamed that original unwashed 501s came with white top stitching. That should have been specifically mentioned in details. These were a gift so have to spend time and trouble returning. Not happy.

    Very disappointed! Recently purchased two pair (marked made in Egypt). The denim is much thinner than that in the pair I've had for several years (made in Mexico).

    Ordering how I have been for over 40 years the “Shrink-To-Fit” 501 Rigid button-fly jeans online proved to be over 2-3 inches longer in the inseam (length) The waist still shrunk the expected 1”, but it’s like the inseam never did. Cost me $32 in alterations to have them corrected. VERY disappointed! NOT the jeans I was expecting. I liked them better when they were made in the USA. They were soft denim, not the RIGID denim that gets softer with each wash.

    Recieved my order on time as promised. Washed and air dried, then slipped them on for a perfect in the waist and inseam. Best fitting pants for all day comfort.

    I never owned a pair of black denims of any kind in my life so when I finally bought a pair, of course I picked Levi’s 501 buttonfly jeans. Washed them in hot inside out to retain color (I’m 71 and just learned that!). They fit perfect!

    I’m not happy with the increasingly lighter weight denim, but I can deal with it. I also don’t care for other minor changes to the classics, but that’s life. I can’t find anything to like about any of the changes, but they’re still Levi 501’s, sort of. What I can’t deal with is the short front pockets. Is this an attempt to save $0.0034 worth of material? Did nobody at Levi understand that some of us put our phones in our front pockets? What are they thinking?

    I bought a pair of 501's 4 years ago and just wore some holes in them. I knew my size and bought two different rinses from the original purchase. I am not disappointed. I hope these last just as long as they are great looking jeans and I can't wait to wear them in all over again.

    I've been on the Levi emailing list for about two years, but while browsing quickly through the latest I discovered that it was possible to order some models of 501 jeans with waist size 35. While I've been struggling to maintain my body size, somehow there have been some mass shifts over the years. I immediatly ordered a pair of 35-32 of the medium stone-washed. Got them about 5 days later. they fit perfectly.

    Of 2 pairs ordered same size, one bigger.

    Love the 501 jeans. One was sized right but I think the other one was not. It fits bigger than a 29 waist, more like a 30 or 31. I know as I have lost weight and still have the bigger sizes. So I’m happy with only the one pair.

    Could not get them buttoned! The gray pair I got fit fine. Must be this color of material or either the seamstress ate into this pair with the sewing when putting them together! LOL I used to work at a Pants Factory and I know how some people sew and cut off more crotch, leg, etc when sewing! No two pairs have ever been alike (even same style)ordering from Levi online. I think I am gonna quit!
