      Good but not long term

      In law enforcement, been wearing daily for about 9 months. Out of the box they are good and comfortable but had a weird squeak with each step (went away after break in). The foot bed is comfortable and supportive. They tend to hold in moisture and mildew very easily on the inside, get a boot dryer. A couple months ago, the pull tab on one of the zippers broke and the locking mechanism made it to where the zipper is now inoperable, they need to add a velcro tab at the top of the boot to cover the zipper while in use. The foot bed inserts have deteriorated badly (cracking and pieces of the plastic and fabric are falling out daily) at least these can be replaced. Ultimately, I've opted to replace them.

      I ordered the extra wide to have some space, for desert use at Burning Man. Performance boots. In water, waterproof through streams, very protective and comfortable. Zipper is a great feature. I also notice on steep rocky inclines these do not slip going down, as with another brand I have that cost $50. more.

      Overall a good quality boot but the toe area is very small from top to bottom and the boot folds over pressing on my foot when I walk. It’s pretty irritating but I guess I’ll live with it until I get money for a new pair of something else.

      Arch is very uncomfortable

      I have been wearing these boots for over a month, I have tried three different cushion soles (the original orange cushions are very uncomfortable). Unfortunately, these boots are just too painful to wear after a 12 hour shift. The arch supports are either too high or just not in the right position for my foot. The construction of the boot is well built, the only ding I have on the construction of the boot is the pull loops in the back. The loops stick straight out causing my pants to stick up like Andy Griffith. If they would stich the loop along the boot like my Strikers, my pants wouldn't stick up. This is my second set of Danner's but they do not come close to the comfort of my older pair.

      Great fit and hold up well to dirt and scuffs. Squeaks like the devil when i walk though, and my kids laugh at me. But I’m old enough now id rather have great boots than the respect of children.

      The boots are comfortable if worn loose. There is some bad stitching on the tongue of the right boot that prevents the material from laying flat and it stabs into my ankle bone if I tie them too tight. The insoles squeak when you walk. It sounds like you’re walking on ducks if you don’t replace the insole. I have problems with plantar fasciitis and ankle pain. I can work a full shift on concrete with these boots and not be in horrible pain. These boots would be fantastic if it wasn’t for the issues that I had. I didn’t think that they were worth the price or the hype.

      Works well. I use these as my motorcycle boots. Mainly due to its slip resistance to oil and other slippery surfaces. Well on a bike ride, I stopped next to an oil spot and stepped in it. The boots only slipped by a fraction of an inch and the caught its grip. It did exactly what I bought these boots for. When the treading wears down, I’ll definitely be buying these boots again.

      I love me some Danners. I stand by their work. Danners are the only boot I wear for work. I’m very disappointed in this boot. I been wearing them for a month now, and every step I take they’re popping. Be a corrections officer its about the element of surprise and I can’t surprise anyone with these boots on, they can hear me coming from a mile away.

      Worst not I've written as far as getting it on. I struggle everytime I put the boot on and nearly pull a muscle. It requires waaaayyyy too much strength to put on my foot. Even with it unzipped and the boots are not tied tight.

      Best boots on the market by far. You know when you buy new boots and it takes days to break in and constant use? Not with these. Day 1 and I’m on my feet all day 9-12 hours, ZERO breaking in. They felt like I broke them in months and months ago. Extremely satisfied with my purchase and I’m most certainly putting in another order very soon. Danner! You Rule!

      I have always stuck with Danner because of the comfort; however, the lookouts are not that comfortable at all and cause me pain. Sorry Danner, I am trying THOROGOOD boots.

      I gave it three stars because of two things. One, there is a spot on the inside where the zipper seam is that pokes into the legs and is uncomfortable. Two, when zipped and then tied to comfort, it is too tight to get the boots on and off with the zipper down. Which, if you ask me, is the whole point of getting boots with zippers on them. Other than that, they are comfortable, like walking on a cloud, easy lightweight stride, and great grip in slick conditions.

      This is by far my favorite pair of boots. They are really comfortable to wear 12 hours a day. I worked almost 1100 hours of overtime in 2022 and my feet were fine. I've had three pairs of these exact boots. The only issue I can comment on, is the sole makes a little noise while they are breaking in. This might be an issue in a tactical situation.

      My first pair of Danner Lookout boots were great. Re-ordered the exact boot and size but this new pair is extremely tight and painful to wear, even after substantial time to break in. Even untied and unzipped, the boots are too tight around the middle and front of the boot. I ordered a boot stretcher and if that doesn’t fix the problem I’ll have to go with a different boot.

      I had trouble finding the right size boot initially. I am typically (99.5% of the time) a size 10.5 in athletic shoes (Nike mostly). I ordered a 10.5 for these boots but they were too big. So I ordered the size 10 and the size 10 were perfect. The boots took a little break in time but all in all a quality and good product. I wear stir up style shirt stays that wrap under the foot, that cause some discomfort but it’s the shirt stays and not the boots. The width of the boot is comfortable as is. I have low arches and medium size width feet. The boots work well. I highly recommend.
