Unlined Duck Bib
JeremiahD
Feb 8, 2021
Great pair of bibs. My body temp runs really hot air the quilt lined are way to hot and bulky for me, but these are perfect. Great cold weather gear. They do not fit as the same size as the quilt lines. They run way bigger so if you swear I ever x in quilt lined, you will need to buy two sizes smaller fir the unlined duck bib.

Great product, I wear jeans under them and as long as I stay active they're good well into the 20's. Had a pair of insulated and they were to hot. Four stars only because of the bib clips. Like the style, but needs to have more up and down play. Hard to hit the hole to fasten.

Shrunk the pockets

They shrunk the front pockets. To save money on manufacturing maybe. It ruins them not to have front pockets that can be used without worrying about your wallet falling out while working. Very disappointed in your company lost a 30 year customer.

Best Bibs Ever

Feb 26, 2020
Tough, comfortable, and true to fit. I got 32 x 30 since that is my pants size and they work perfectly over top of my cold weather and regular clothing without binding. The zips on the sides are also crucial since I can remove the bibs without having to take off my boots (a lot easier for putting on in general too). My wife is also a fan of them since the protect my regular clothes from as much wear and tear. Definitely my new favorite piece of work gear and now I am thinking about getting the lined ones as well; excellent product!

This particular Carhartt item is one of my favorites. I wear them from fall to spring almost everyday. The sad thing is that they have been discontinued. So I purchased two extra pair to put back for later on.

Love the warmth, but lack functionality
JulieC
Feb 22, 2022
I like how warm & waterproof these bibs are, but the relaxed fit makes them fit baggy and I get the chest panel caught on things. No tool pockets on the legs or hammer holder is a disappointment as I carry fencing pliers & a hoof pick always. The zippered backside is more of a hassle to use that just taking them down to use the restroom. Wish they had a full front zip and full leg zippers as I step in and out of my old ones much better. No idea how they stand up to barbed wire yet. I live in my carhartt bibs for nearly 6 months a year, so functionality is the key as I’m in & out of tractors, working cattle, riding horses, fixing fence, calving, etc….

Feb 19, 2024
fabric is solid, but hardware fastening shoulder straps to front bib is cheap, stamped junk, & pockets are poorly designed - specifically, the right thigh pocket is too small to hold a smartphone. Won't buy again until Carhartt hires better designers

Poor re-design
ToddE
Nov 22, 2021
I just received a new pair of the bib overalls. I am very disappointed at the re-design with the pockets. What makes me almost mad about this is I wear these daily in construction. My last pair had a deeper front pocket that was able to be used. This pair has such a shallow pocket a tape measure wont stay. Please Carhartt understand this was a mistake on your part and change it. I will look at the other brands and find one with better side pencil pockets and a better front pocket design. Im amazed. It's like they are so shallow it was a mistake. Please let the construction industry know when you fix this problem.

Good fit. Used the fit wizard. I knocked of a star for a few reasons. Buttons are not heavy duty. Feels cheap. Same for the metal fitting on the shoulder straps. Also some stitching on the left hip was torn a bit. We’ll see how well they hold up.

Oct 30, 2023
I have worn Carhartt bibs last 12 years. I love the fit and the weight of the denim and duck material.
However, I hate the new one large zippered pocket.
As a dump trucker and farmer. I am constantly reaching for my phone. It's no longer handy to get out of my pocket. It falls down and zipping & unzipping pick is not ideal.

I am 6’3 195 and typically buy a 33 inch waist. I bought 32 and it’s a little snug but has stretched out. I typically like more form fitting clothing. People complain about the overall buckle but that is non issue if u ask me. In terms of work overalls where u feel completely impervious to outside elements, these are the ones to get. I’ll probably get the quilted ones as well but don’t really need them. If you live upstate and work outside all day long I would get those. These are still insanely warm but only recommend if your really moving outside while working.

Ordered 36 x36, as is my regular pant size. (6'5", 240 lbs.) The pant leg on these bibs are made slightly longer making them perfect when fitted over work boots. I am expecting them to handle all that I will put them through - cutting timber, moving brush, carpentry and work on the dock.
Bibs arrived in timely fashion - well wrapped with all documentation required (returns, receipt).
Only concern is the clip that holds suspenders. I am hoping they meet the test of time. Every other aspect of bib (zippers, buttons etc.) appear well put together.

Bought these a couples years back for hunting, was tired of the wind blowing between pieces and freezing me out when crouching or laying down. Very glad I did! Also very glad I bought the side zip, feels good to sit and zip out my legs when it's hotter than planned. Buy a few inches over your waist size, and a couple over your length because they'll shrink. I bought the 36x32 and was glad I did! (generally wear a 32x32).

Bought a pair of the Duck zip-to-thigh bib overalls/unlined, in black, for my son for Christmas. He is very pleased with them. Carhartt is the most purchased brand for work and casual clothes that my son has been using for the last 25 plus years. The bibs are his most favorite. He wears other Carhartt items; jackets, shirts, hats, etc., as well as most of his work buddies do, too. Thanks for making this reliable product for all work and casual uses.

Not the same fit
Billy
Mar 29, 2024
I've been wearing these for a good 20 years with no complaints. Now they changed them and they no longer fit properly. The bib is up to my throat, fully adjusted with no more room on the suspenders and the crotch is down too far. It's like they just shortened the legs on a tall guys pair. I just keep patching and stitching my old ones trying not to look like a slob..
Suggestion ; put a rivet under the side buttons , if they come unbuttoned while I'm working they easily tear..

Great product if it would fit proper. W36 L30 would fit great if my torso was about 6" longer, my straps have to be about 4" up on the fabric. That puts the top of the bib at my throat. I'm 5'7" tall with a 32" inseam, my waist it 33", and I weight in at 190lbs. It seams to me that they are for someoine that is 6'5" tall with a 32" inseam. Dont get me wrong, I do like the product, but quality control needs to be a bit better. I've been wearing Carhartt for 37 years now, the last six years have been terrible for buying these bib overalls. A person cannot just order the same bib and expect it to fit, you have to try them on everytime! Even if you do go to a Carhartt store you will be lucky to find bibs that fit proper. Thank you for your time.

Love the bibs, especially the leg zippers and snaps.I’ve been wearing Carhartts for about 40 years. The only part of the bibs that has changed are the strap fasteners, they are thin and don’t seem to be as strong as my previous bibs. Time will tell.

I like these overalls. They have added snaps to help protect/reinforce the zippers on the legs.
I minor, perhaps quality control issue, is where the shoulder straps connects to the bib, the clearance for the metal clasp to pass through is really small, so it takes a little bit of effort.
On a pair that I bought years ago, the metal clasp passes effortlessly.
Overall, no pun intended, I really like them.

Going by your directions on how to purchase based on my usual measurements it suggested I go "up" a size with the length with these Bibs. They are way too long and are next to impossible to alter. These are great overalls as long as you get the correct size. No, they do not fit like your regular size. I'm 6' 1" 210lbs and usually wear a 34x34 pant. With these Carhartt's I'm wearing a 36x32 and they fit perfect. These are my cool/cold weather overalls and they have enough thickness and room to wear sweats underneath. I've been wearing them now for 6 weeks 40 hrs. a week and they are so far bulletproof. If Carhartt would make the straps in a normal length the sizing would be more true to size so be aware and order wider and shorter. Great workwear and black is the way to go!

I bought these loose fit overalls with a pair of relaxed fit pants at the size of 38x34. The relaxed fit pants fit perfect, but the overalls were still 2 sizes too long. I have owned Carhartt overalls since 1994 and have always bought the same size. These, maybe because they are loose fit they run way oversized. Not sure but be aware. They fill a little thin compared to the pair I'm replacing. I will be sending them back for a different size. Thanks for an easy replacement policy

I have been wearing Carhartt's bibs for years and have felt they are a good product. I do wish they were making the 28 inch inseam, these are too long and I consider too long of pant leg a safety issue. I have gotten rounder not taller. I would recommend this product.
My wife has taken my old bibs, cut them off just below the breast pockets, made a pocket in the back, to make packs for our grandkids to wear.
The back pocket will have an opening that can be used by reaching back sort of like a hunting vest.

Wore it for two winters - one very slow one, and one very busy one. It did not last through the busier one - the bib tore apart under the pouch, and the zipper tore off from the right leg while I was zipping it up. I'll probably buy another one because of how comfortable & convenient it was, but the zipper did annoy me up to the point where it ripped off out of the pant leg. The teeth ripped right off!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loving them so far. The workmanship is everything I expected from Carhartt. The fitting is ok in the waist, but is a little long in the inseam. I wear a 36W 32L regularly and I have the straps shortend to an inch before they stop. The zippers and everyting else on them is excellent. I have a pair of insulated bibs of the same variety, and they don't zip up the thigh as much as these do. The extra length on the zipper is definetly a plus for slipping them over heavy work boots.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quality product as always. My only gripe is local retailer won't handle these, their loss. Nice to buy local when possible.

Good product. The strap adjustment in the back I believed changed. Now has material. Couldn’t pull it up as much as I needed. Bought my first Carhartt 25 years ago. Good quality.

I love the way the overalls I ordered fit. Very much true to size and they go with everything. I can't wait to see how they last-they feel so substantial. Very happy with these!

I have the suspenders adjusted to be a short as possible but still they won't pull the coveralls up to where they should be. The crotch is way to low witch impedes walking. I cannot work in these things. In order for them to be useful I will have to take them somewhere and have them seriously altered. The latches that hold the suspenders to the bib are horrible. couldn't you find something cheaper?

Love the zippered leg. Much easier to get on and off. Can't find unlined zipper leg in stores. They are great around the farm. The only improvement I would like to see is zippered front like the insulated. Thanks Carhart

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are awesome, I actually purchased for a friend, but they were delivered to my house so I got to see them in person. Both my friend and I are women but don’t particularly like the way the women’s style fit so I usually buy the men’s. They are a little long in the torso, because they’re made for a man, but other than that they’re perfect. Sturdy, well made, and a great investment as they will last a very long time

BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL R02 DESIGN !!!

I have owned Carhartt for the last 20 years, It's actually the only thing I wear. Or at least I used to. What ever idiot decided to change
Your best R02 design should be fired! You ruined a perfect design. Every machinist I know used to wear these and now I have to find another
brand that keeps the original pocket design which was perfectly functional. I don't want a zipper pocket on my chest to scratch everything I have to lean over. I am so disappointed, I will never buy anything from Carhartt again unless you fix this. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. You want to add another line or design great. But don't destroy the best product you make! BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL R02 DESIGN!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been wearing Carhartt bibs since I was a child. These are perfect for the southeast’s winter over your clothes. Lined bibs would be a bit hot during winters here. The chest pocket has been redesigned for the better. Clasp hooks or buckle system is rock solid. Purchased one sized bigger, washed in hot, dried hot, fit perfect first time. It’s nice to be able to take these off and have clean clothes underneath to enter customers homes. Highly recommend for those looking for tough unlined bibs that are easy on/off.

These bibs, have been through three rough seasons of concrete winter work, and have yet to let me down!! These bibs keep me warm, they keep me dry, and they keep up with me every day that I need them to! P.S. I also have the kneepads, and they are a dream when working laying hardscape, and finishing concrete in the cold!

They look really great but I had to return original pair as they were too tight. I wear 36" waist so that is what was ordered. I bumped up to 40" because I want plenty of room over my street clothes. Perfect now. My last pair performed faithfully for 40 years so these should last until I'm well over 100

I've worn these for years and never had an issue with the quality. I recently ordered four pair as they were on sale, but the snaps on three of them are defective. The snap buttons on the legs will not stay in place which makes the zippers pointless. I need to send them back but I guess repair is the only option they offered.

Runs Way Too Large
BretT
Jun 14, 2021
I read the reviews and ordered a size down. I normally run a size 32x34 and ordered a 32x32. These were still WAY too large for me, I'm 6'1 and 165lbs and I tightened the straps all the way and was still tripping on them. The overall quality of the bibs seemed wonderful, just disappointed I was unable to use them.

I just wanted to give these a try because they seem durable.
Long Story Short: These pants, and bib overalls in general, rock! I wear them all the time, they are comfy enough for all day wearing and also convenient, with all those gorgeous pockets. They stray up no matter what, without the need for a belt.
Also, these bad boys look really really cool!!
Go get em, you definitely won’t regret it!

I would rather have a full-length zipper in the front, and I like the old round hooks better than the square ones. Otherwise they're awesome. I like having the wind protection without getting too hot like I would with the insulated version. Plus I do not have to wash my blue jeans every day.

Great fit and stout construction as always. Had to get a new pair because the last ones finally became part of a dog bed and or rags. They are a little large at first but as they are washed and broken in they become perfect. They protect from everything except water and are basically like armor when I cut firewood or clear brush.

The new bib design is horrible!!!
The pants pockets are super short, things fall out of my pockets all the time.
having all that material in front of my chest, including the zipper, make it hard to lean over anything you are working on.

These are a lot nicer than I anticipated, especially after trying them on after I received them. I ordered a 40x32, and the legs are a little too long, but with my boots on, the length is perfect for me. Really thick and it keeps me pretty warm in these cold SD winters. I only wish that I could tighten the straps maybe an inch or two more just to get a tighter fit on my chest, but these are a loose fit overall, and loose they are. Not too loose but not exactly my liking. I’ll keep these in the rotation until they are junk and I’ll buy them again, just maybe a 38x32.

Already have the unlined without the zipper on the legs. Sometimes you need to be able to take them off without removing your boots. Had to go to a brick and mortar store to try them on as ordering one size up online did not work out. Great bibs though and really like the big zipper pocket on the chest.

When they say firm they mean firm. Sizes are exactly as indicated I'm a 34/34 ordered a 34/36 because so many companies make the legs a bit short and I wanted this to fit down to my boots. Wasn't necessary after all so now they're a bit long but doesn't matter when wearing boots.

The quintessential farmers outerwear
Andrew

I am 6’2” and around 250 lbs. The 40” waist is a great fit over lightweight pants or just base layers. Bib overalls are great for farm work as a heavy shirt stayed tucked in. Your back is covered while crawling around tractors and equipment yet allow the full range of upper body motion. They look good as well. At the end of the day the zip-to-thigh feature makes them easy to take off

WAY TO LONG

There not bad at all, they just run really long and it looks like I can't get them any shorter. I bought a 30 inch in length and I feel there at least 2-4 inches to long and my shoulder straps are all the way up. And thats another thing my strap keep sliding down and I have to keep tightening them

I've been wearing your overalls to work for more than 30 years. The last pair you sent were incorrectly sized (about 8" in the inseam and two inches too long in the body. I would have returned them but mistakenly put the knee pads in before trying them on. This is the first time I have made that mistake and will definitely will be the last.
