    Great Jacket (wished it had more filling/lining)

    The fit is good, the look is good, I really like the jacket. I have two grievances with it: the zipper is a little hard to get started but that might be because its as large of a zipper as it is (which is a good thing). The other issue which is easily fixed, is I wished the jacket had more filling to block out wind and retain heat. I keep noticing the heat escaping when with it is cinched on me.

    My first Carhartt jacket! I had an Artic Coat in a xl (I’m a large, 6’1 180 lbs full on dad bod but carry it decent enough). The jacket was great albeit too big. I wanted something lighter that I can actually get some field work done in as well wear into town. I did the research and found the Full Swing Cryder Jacket. I read that many size down so a large may order a medium. I instead ordered a large tall and machine washed per the care instructions and dried accordingly. Perfect fit!! I have enough room for a zip up fleece if it’s really cold, and it would have to be really cold to need a fleece because this jacket is warm; almost like it has a thermostat inside that keeps me at a perfect temp. The Quick Duck feels great and my kids don’t mind if my jacket brushes against their skin (wives second this trait). The detachable hood is arctic quilt lined as well and the entire jacket is also coated with Rain Defender; coupled with the inherent properties of Quick Duck I have high hopes of keeping a lighter jacket in the rain compared to other materials from Carhartt. Side pockets have hidden button closures as does the hood attachment point. Fine zippers for breast pockets. Has a nice drop tail on the jacket and a drop point type of sleeve with a secure knit inner cuff. 30 years from now I’ll be telling grandkids all the memories I made in this jacket!

    This is my favorite jacket. It's cut well -- call me silly if you must, but the jacket seems to me like something Han Solo would wear; the Cryder is versatile -- not too hot for indoors, not too cool for the average West Coast winter day; the Cryder is well made, too, and the material is comfortable. I'd buy this model for my whole family, if I could, and I do hope Carhartt keeps the Cryder around for a good long time.

    My husband absolutely loves his new jacket! There were a few things he had to get used to like the sleeve design (outer sleeve coming down beyond his wrist) and the double zipper. Once he became accustom to those things, he loves everything about the jacket and will continue only having me buy him Carhartt quality, durability, and lightweight warmth!

    I bought this for my son for a bit dressier coat for him. His old Carhart work coat was a bit tattered. He has gained a bit of weight so I bought a size larger than normal. He could have used the next size down, but if he layers under this it will be fine. I really like the Shadow color for him. Warm and toasty

    I am overall happy with the jacket with just a couple of small complaints. Both have to do with sizing/cut of jacket. The sleeves are just a bit too long and the front waist of the jacket is too short. Both by about 1 inch. These two combined throw the jacket out of balance to my eye.That being said, I'm happy with it and would buy again.

    I love the coat. I have gotten several compliments on the coat. I manage a wholesale nursery and and lifting trees and bending over quite often and it does great. I really like the range of motion and comfort in the coat. It's probably the best coat I've ever purchased. It is versatile and Carhartt has thought of everything. Drawstrings at the bottom and around hood if you need it, but not if you don't. Lots of pockets. If I had one complaint as an honest review, I'd say the hood is too large and hangs over my eyes. I have to wear a ball cap with a brim to keep it up so I can see. And I'm a big guy at 6'2" and used to looking down a bit but can't look straight ahead. I wish you had a gusset snap or something that could adjust the length of the hood or that it was just smaller. Maybe it is by design for wearing over hardhats. If so, I wish we had a size option. I never wear hardhats. Other than that, it would be perfect.

    I bought this for my son who is working in new construction so there is no heat. Along with good base layers, it keeps him really warm. He is impressed with the well-considered design and fabric. Especially likes the gusset through the shoulders. Great jacket!

    I had waited a long time to get a heavier coat. this one was worth the wait. I like everything about it. One minor tweak...sometimes it is hard to get the zipper engaged and it takes several tries. It works once in the track, but its a bit of a pain every now and again. That's it though...great jacket!

    Comfortable and I am able to move. Sizing is a bit off for me - medium might be a bit small, but large is too big and I usually wear a large everything. Not a huge issue and I am happy to own one. Only actual complaint is that the zipper is hard to engage and not smooth.

    The softer material makes it feel like I’ve owned this jacket for 5 years. It moves with me so the sleeves don’t ride up when I reach to grab something. I ordered the large tall and at 6’4” 200lbs it fits great. No more exposed belt line while working overhead. Keeps tools one might wear inside your waistband well hidden.

    5’7” 190lbs got the Large Arms run long but the design is smart and helps keep hands warm quick flip of the cuff and you good other wise. Runs tighter to body and less fluffy then other coats but has more flexibility then any other coat they have if ya ask me. Every function to the coat is well thought out and very comfortable. Very warm and ok for layers maybe a shirt and mid weight hoodie max. Mainly where long sleeve shirt and jacket. Temps run between 20-40F where I’m at in winter.

    I am new to Michigan and was referred to Carhatt by multiple people. I went to the store on Cass Ave and a very helpful sales associate taught me about the different jackets. I found one with a great fit and great comfort. It was not tight in arms and shoulders like most (due to the full swing design). This is a great jacket that will keep me warm.

    We love these warm jackets and love the 2-way zipper. We can zip open a little when we ride, but can easily zip it closed again when working around the ranch. The sleeves are long so they keep our wrists warm. The jackets are warm!! Nice standup collar too.

    6'4" 260lbs and the XL tall is perfect. This is the best fitting, best feeling, best looking, most versatile coat I have ever owned. I am in love with this thing. Very warm, but not bulky. Material is strong and durable, but not stiff at all. I love the cuffed inner sleeve while the outer shell comes down further over my hand with that perfect curved ending. I have never been able to move and work so freely and comfortably with a coat on, as I am now. It moves and flexes with you in all the right spots. I love that I can unzip the bottom a few inches so it doesn't bunch up when I'm sitting. The zipper is a little tough to get started though. The chest pockets and the inner pockets hold a ton of stuff safely and securely, and are super easy to get into. The lower outer pockets are well built and warm for my hands if I clinch my fists, but not really big enough for anything else. I am very glad I found this one and decided to invest a little more than usual this time.

    Only reason this didn’t get the full 5 stars is that I intended for this to be a work jacket and it’s much too nice for that. I will still get use out of it outside of work, but I had to buy a different coat to use at work. Other than that this is a great coat and is very warm. Comfortable with this over a t shirt in 20 degrees unzipped.

    This jacket is just the right amount of warm here in Nothern Maryland. I had my wife take my measurements and ordered the appropriate size based on the posted size ranges Carhartt provided. It fits perfect! When I'm out walking and moving around, I seem to wish the jacket was an inch or two longer. When I get in my truck, I'm glad the jacket isn't any longer. (1st world problems, right?) I can't image using a different jacket this winter. Love it.

    Very durable been wearing it constantly! Minimal wind chill in it and stays very warm when wearing a sweatshirt underneath. Could be a little more insulated though. Full swing is the best design I’ve ever encountered in a jacket!

    Got this coat for an all around winter coat for activities. It really does a great job. I have had problems with the sleeves restricting movement with other coats. Went out a shot 2 rounds of sporting clays the other day and coat worked perfect.

    I admittedly own a lot of Carhartt coats, jackets and sweatshirts. Just recently, I added the Cryder Full Swing to my collection. After wearing this to work on a freight dock all week in temperatures averaging around 30 degrees, I have nothing bad to say about it. The "full swing" functionality is what compelled me to purchase it. I wore only a thermal shirt under it and found it to be perfect for maintaining the right temperature in a non-active environment. The Quick Duck fabric is soft and flexible but unquestionably the full swing in the shoulder area really helps when it comes to reaching. This is one aspect of Carhartt quality that is really worth "crowing" about. In my opinion, if you're going to have one winter work coat in low temperatures that hover around the 30 degree mark, this is the one to have.

    I purchased this coat for my husband, who described in great detail what he wanted in a coat. It needed to be warm, yet lightweight, pockets in all the right places, and so on. He loves it even more than he thought he would! It even has a hood that allows for a guy wearing a ballcap. It covers the bill when you put the hood up. Also water resistant. It's perfect for all the occasions he will wear it.

    I like this jacket a lot so far, of course I just got it and haven't had a chance to wear it much yet. It feels like it's going to be warm and durable as advertised. Although I haven't yet had a chance to wear it in any real cold weather it feels quite warm in the cool weather I have worn it in. The new style makes it nice enough for me to wear to work. My work clothes are your basic business casual, so I didn't really want to wear the traditional Carhartt jackets to work and this new quick duck material feels and looks almost like suede, particularly in the canyon brown color. The hood though is a different matter, at least for me, since I'm not wearing a hardhat I find the hood way to large, in fact it's certainly big enough to wear a hard hat underneath and still leave plenty of room. But it conveniently comes off with a few snaps and the jacket looks find with the hood off. Personally, I'd like for the collar to be a little higher & with the hood removed it blocks little wind but that's a minor grievance and easy enough to deal with. Plenty of pockets inside and out and the hand warmer pockets open nicely unlike some of their other jackets. I normally take a 2XL Tall in a jacket but this one seems to run a little larger and I ended up fitting just fine in the XL Tall size. Overall I am quite happy with my jew Cryder jacket and am looking forward to cooler weather and a chance to wear it.

    I have had 2 classic Carhartt coats in 20 years. I needed one that I could keep clean and look professional and was comfortable while driving. This is the one. Add the Thinsulate warmth and the Rain Defender. This coat will always be on me or in my truck.

    I got this coat for my boyfriend and he LOVES it. He has only had it a week and one of his co-workers saw it and ordered one right away! He works construction, and this jacket allows him freedom with motion and keeps him at a comfortable temperature. Plus it looks nice! He's also looking forward to being able to wear it in Michigan this weekend. While he had a hard time with the price, it was well worth it and is high quality, He will be wearing this for years to come!

    Purchased again because I had a coat of similar style for eight years which held up real well until hole was developed in the arms which defeated waterproof/resistance in rain Like the addition of it another external zipper pocket on chest Do not like the addition of the second zipper along the main coat as interferes with ability to zip effectively as a disabled user with poor hand dexterity I know this can be practical for some people but wish this feature was disclosed in product description and possibly listed as optional as does not seem to be necessary for all users

In the past, jackets got in the way, these move incredibly well and the tail in back helps them keep the weather out of their pants.     Zipper in your heavy-duty jacket is junk. handle came off, replaced several times, now is wired on . Not happy , jacket only two years old, looks like new . Love it otherwise !! .

    Great! Mostly by the cut as it has enough room to layer up over my chest but narrows at the bottom for coverage. I haven’t ridden our horse yet to know if it won’t ride up sitting in the saddle... hope not. Will get it embroidered with our company logo for ROTBLOC / @rotbloc_llc and post pics on Instagram when it’s done. We have a couple jackets for our employees getting done.

    Absolutely love this jacket! I ordered a standard length size large and it fits me perfect. My arm length is considered to be short for my height. I’m 6’ tall and my arm length is 33”. I weight right at 200lbs. I also ordered a size large Tall for my friend who has a similar build, but a 35 1/2” arm length and his jacket fit perfect as well. I’ve had numerous Carhartt coats, bibs, pants, shirts and sweatshirts and they all have great quality. 99% of Carhartt’s clothing is built for work and lasting. This jacket has the same quality as any other garment they offer with an addition stylish look. I would not consider any of my Carhartt clothing as sleek, but this jacket is sleek! My favorite part of this jacket is that the “full swing” is exceptional in maneuverability. The jacket wears great and moves with your body effortless. I researched for a week before I made my purchase and don’t regret it one bit. This coat offers style, tradition, quality, warmth and more.

    I purchased this for a durable warm winter jacket and it is very warm. I wear it by itself over a flannel shirt down into the 40's and high 30's. and Into the low 30's and 20's I wear it with another jacket. However still really warm by itself. Also it is almost totally windproof and great protection from light rain. The fabric is more soft then traditional duck but still very durable. And the full swing features make movement super easy. The cuffs under the sleeve keep your arms warm and allow you to pull up your sleeves if reaching into water for instance which is a great feature. Finally it is a great looking jacket and the removable hood gives you a hoodless option for events where you might want to look more dressy but still in Carhartt. Also I am 6' 3' and only 175 and it fits me well. There is certainly room for a bigger guy but not so much that I loose insulation. Only complaint it that the zipper is sometimes tricky to get started but It just takes a little bit of a twist. Once it is started it works great too. Overall great jacket. I just bought another one for my Dad.

    The coat does its job fantastically. The coat performs well in rain and snow and keeps you dry and is pretty waterproof. The hood is detachable so I can put it on if i need to shovel snow outside. I shoveled snow in 5 degree weather and I felt fine, with only 1 long sleeve underneath. The fullswing feels great, and doesn’t make me feel as constrained as other coats. The fitting options on the website do a great job of giving you a recommended size.

    The jacket is great and I love the exterior fabric. I am really tired of all jackets being like a shower curtain. Unlike other reviewers I really love the double zipper. Three things I would add to the jacket are: 1. A giant lower back inside pocket for storage of gloves, soft hat, or maybe even the hood itself. An interior lower back pocket is ideal for this as it doesn't get in the way and doesn't effect the appearance as much. More jackets should have this. 2. Maybe some small (arm) pit zippers or at least minimize the material underneath the armpit. This my one annoyance with the jacket is that the armpit material is way too bulky. 3. An adjustable rear hood coord. Some jackets allow you to make the hood smaller by pulling a cord on the back of the hood. This reshapes the hood for smaller heads.

    Just bought mine. The quality is on point. For the fit. I’m 5’10” tall and weigh 175lbs. I got a size medium and it fits perfectly. I looked mine over for about 20 minutes checking all the stitching to find an issues and there where none. The quality control of carhartt can not be beat. Being completely honest I have never been so happy about a jacket before. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

    This coat is very comfortable. I’ve had it for about a year. Being a building contractor In northern Wisconsin I need something that will keep me dry and warm. This is not the coat ! Although fairly warm this coat is in no way water repellent , in fact Water will soak through fairly easily in rain or snow. 5 stars if it kept me dry.

    Very comfortable and very Carhartt. I’m 6’2” and 180lbs. Bought a L and it fit well. Thought it might be tight with new Carhartt washed vest but they fit great together. Would definitely recommend. Bought same jacket and vest for my grandson who lives in Minnesota and he loves the set.

    Great Looking, Very Warm, but Not a Jacket for Actually Working Outside in the Cold

    I live in Alaska, and I have lots of experience working in cold weather. Up here, snowy weather is a fact of life seven months out of the year. I bought this jacket because the fit was excellent, and it looks great. I was hoping to use it while working outside during the winter, but I quickly learned that it's only a good cold-weather jacket as long as (a) it isn't snowing, and (b) you aren't sweating, like, at all. If either or both of those two things are happening, you're going to get soaked in very short order, which, particularly the colder it gets, puts you at severe risk of sustaining a freezing injury or hypothermia. Cold-weather gear has to keep you warm but also dry, and I'm sorry to say that while this jacket does the former quite well, it fails miserably at the latter. The shell material is highly absorbent, and the liner material does not wick sweat at all -- quite the opposite, in fact -- so as a result, if you're actually working up a sweat, your base layer quickly becomes saturated, which then causes moisture to migrate outward to the wrists and upwards to the neck and out onto your face, which then freezes. For what I paid for this jacket, I'd have expected better performance. I'm pretty disappointed, because I'm normally a huge fan of Carhartt clothing, but this jacket simply does not perform as I'd expect a cold-weather workwear item to perform. It looks great, that must be said, but if you actually work in cold and snowy conditions, this is not what you'll want to wear. Better to look for a modular system incorporating a water-proof or -resistant breathable outer shell layer and a moisture-wicking base layer of synthetic microfleece or polypropylene.

    The jacket is really great I work in cold storage. I had got a size down because they tend to run big. My only complaint is the cuffs stretched out after a month I of use. This review would have got a five star but the cuffs is a major flaw

    I had never owned a winter jacket before, but after last winter I decided to invest in a proper winter jacket. I used money I received as a graduation gift to buy the Carhartt full swing jacket. I liked it so much, I started wearing it this fall when temperatures first dropped into the 50s (considered cold where I am originally from). In November, my car was broken into (while working on research at the archives of a historical state park) and the jacket (with my debit card in the pocket) was stolen. The new jacket owner went on a spending spree with my card and was not caught, but thankfully he will not freeze this winter. When I realized I would not be getting the jacket back, I purchased another, identical jacket. I am wearing it now and its great. Better wind and cold resistance than any hunting jacket I've ever used, and similar water resistance. Also, more professional looking than the Columbia fleeces I normally wear. Great jacket. Will replace again next time it is stolen .

    This jacket is not only durable, but is very beneficial to myself. This is the first jacket I have been able to wear and work in without any problems since my accident. No matter whether I'm outside in the elements or working a piece of equipment this jacket comfortable and doesn't get in the way of work.

Boy did it ever! I wore it whenever I felt the weather getting a little chilly, and it always made me feel nice and "toasty." I have one other duck jacket I use for working in but I bought it in a bigger size for movement purposes.     Great jacket! We live in South Dakota and the warmth is great. One thing I would change is the double zipper on the front. One zipper would work better for zipping with gloves on. Otherwise great material warmth and functionality. We have purchased this jacket previously in a large and loved it. This time we went with a large tall and fits much better. Long enough to keep the wind out. The jacket was for a six foot 190 pound guy (for reference) Definitely will buy again!

    So, I had a duck coat for 15 years. Perfect coat, unfortunately when I went to the store they didn’t know how to properly direct me to what I was looking for. So, TRADES PEOPLE you should be looking for the NFPA compliant coat. I realized this too late. This coat, while warm and comfortable doesn’t feel like the type of quality product I’d come to expect from cathartt….I was very concerned (and am certain it will be the first thing to go) the zipper would break until I figured out kinda how to grab the coat and zipper. Sure it’s stylish, but whenever you get it caught on something you have to take care not to rip it which is not like the old heavy duty canvas coats. I guess I’d expect more from a 180 dollar jacket from a company known for trades people. Probably perfect for hipster office workers, college campus and all the leftist fetishizing blue collar work cultures. I fear this coat won’t give me the years my old one did, which makes me bummed out. This jacket did fit well, but be warned, try to try on their stuff before you buy it. Cathartt products are made in various countries and the fit is different depending on the country, most of it (especially the shirts) runs way to large and will leave you feel like a young kid putting on dads clothes.

    I wasn’t very happy with this coat. It was far lighter than I expected even at my discounted price point. It’s really only suited for a spring or fall jacket. I was going to keep in anyway, except when I tried layering with it, the sleeves and arm pits were too tight to facilitate wearing a sweatshirt underneath.This brings me to the fit. I’m 5’2” and 170lbs with a broad chest and narrow arms. The Chest of the coat fit well while still allowing enough room to layer while the sleeves were almost tight and incredibly long. Anything thicker than a tee shirt underneath and I could feel them squeezing. Even with the internal ribbing on the sleeves they would slide down well past my hands. I bought this to use as a work coat, but didn't even bother as I figured I would constantly be pulling the sleeves up off my hands. I understand Carhartt’s idea for hand protection, but I have gloves for this purpose and they do the job without getting in my way.Ultimately I decided to return it.

    I got this for my boyfriend and he is a Carhartt enthusiast. He is constantly outdoors and is a carpenter so movement and comfort is vital. He tells me every day how much he loves the jacket and how comfortable it is. He is impressed with the mobility he has when wearing it. Nothing but pleased with this product.

    Watch out for bunching of the fabric in the armpits making it uncomfortable to wear.

    This is the jacket i wear the most for all occasions. does not look like a work jacket but functions like one with the "Full Swing" flexibility. all the pockets are awesome if you are following my reviews, i am a creature of comfort habit and my wife hates it. i will crawl under a car with dress pants/shirt and tie on without a second thought. at least now with Carhartt, its still looks good and will take a beating without destroying my clothes. driven hard and put away wet

    I’ve owned Carhartt clothing for 40 years there’s nothing better when it comes to quality. My new full swing jacket is the most comfortable jacket I’ve ever worn not to mention how warm it is. The Cryder jacket looks very professional with our company logo embroidered in it.

    My husband loves this jacket! He is 6'3" and has a 50" chest measurement. We tried this on in the store and decided to order the Tall version because he needed extra length in the arms and torso. We went with an XL Tall because it was a loose fit style, even though his measurements put him in an XXL. Very pleased with the fit! He has plenty of room to move. Would definitely recommend!

    I have a Carhartt work coat that I have had for over decade that I like and keeps me warm. But I wanted a casual coat that looked good anywhere and could keep me dry and warm in any weather. The first time I wore this coat it was loose in the back and I could feel cold wind blowing into the back of the jacket. Then I saw there were adjuster to make the jacket tighter around the waist and that stopped the problem of wind blowing up the jacket. I have worn this jacket shoveling snow and it stayed dry. Yes, I would recommend this jacket.

    Overall great jacket. I am disappointed in the warmth and durability of the inseam. Whiched from my 10yr old carhartt pockets finally went because I kept screwdrivers and other random pointy objects in them. Bought this in November 17' and love the full-swing idea, I just don't know about the inseam. I'm 6'2, 195-200 depending on the day, got the 2xl even though size chart told me smaller. Jacket has held up great through this winter, just not as warm as my old jacket. Moveablity has been amazing except across my back, especially bent over both arms down working on whatever. It's always been a little tight in the back fully extended. Not sure if a 3xl would change this or not but now I'm multiple sizes larger then carhartt chart. I'm now what 6 months in and this past Tuesday, I'm middle of a job, strecth out and RRRIP! Instantly hear "so about that new Carhartt " followed by the usual lol. Ripped the inseam right on the armpit where the back meets. I see carhartt responds often, maybe you guys can shed some light on why this happened?

    Everything we expect from Carhartt. Appreciate the little details like the pocket zippers that close upward, well thought out things like that. The best part is that it is soft enough that it doesn't get in the way every time I move, plus the folds and gussets at the shoulders and elbows give a huge range of movement. Runs just a trifle large - the biggest "issue" is the length of the sleeves. Even sizing-down I have to roll up the over-cuff or it falls way over my hands, but I can handle that. I've worn it in 25 degree weather and it is plenty warm for me. My son tried mine and had to buy one for himself!

    The full swing cryder jacket is really nice. The way the shoulders and elbows are made help with mobility and can really appreciate that. The one big problem with this jacket is that it's short. Many of us guys that wear this brand are big in one way or another. The fact that there is no 3XL Tall is a big down fall. If there are Tall versions up to 2XL, they should have finished the line with the 3XL Tall. This jacket is made for movement so while doing many activities the jacket will rise up on you. Being that its to short, it will rise up even more leaving you exposed to the elements. That is not good in any way. I still gave the jacket 4 stars because the fabric used, pockets and design for mobility are nice, but if you usually wear a 3XL Tall I would consider waiting until Carhartt decides to make it in the Tall version.

    I have a long torso so I bought the XL Tall and the sleeves were a little long so I just folded them over a little bit. This jacket is by far the nicest work jacket I’ve owned. It comes super flexible and completely non-restrictive. It’s a cool style and it’s got pockets for days. Keeps warm well enough. Zippers are a little cumbersome(there are two on the main center zip). A few months in and it shows no wear.

    I bought this for a work jacket. It's warm and I was looking for a jacket that was waterproof since my last jacket by another brand was not waterproof. It fits well in the body but my only minor complaint is the full swing shoulder gussets make sleeves slightly too long.

    I purchased this jacket at the end of November and was supposed to put it away to be a Christmas gift. I wore the jacket one time and I knew that wasn't going to happen. I've owned a few different Carhartt jackets over the years and a handful of jackets/coats from other manufacturers. There isn't an outer garment on this planet that can hold a candle to the Full Swing Cryder Jacket. Carhartt hit a grand slam in developing the Full Swing, Rugged Flex, and Quick Duck technology. I liked this jacket so much I've purchased the Full Swing Cryder ShirtJac and two pairs of the Full Swing Cryder Dungarees. My only concern with this jacket was how warm it would be in cold winter temperatures. We had an unseasonably cold December here in Northwest Pennsylvania and the jacket really surprised me. It's somewhat on the lighter side (compared to other Carhartt jackets) but it's extremely well insulated. I was out and about in 5-10 degree temps and didn't get cold at all. If you find yourself reading these reviews and debating on whether or not to buy this jacket, go ahead and order it right now. This jacket is that good. I may buy another in case Carhartt ever foolishly decides to discontinue it.

    Love the Jacket! You feel that right away when you first put it on. Full Swing Motion is true to as advertised. I swing hammer, crouch, bend, twist, and stretch all day long for a living. This jacket allows me the range necessary for ease of motion for my job. No bunching, binding etc. It is a bit puffier then first thought. It isn’t heavy or bulky at all, but heavier then expected, not Sherpa heavy but step below. So coat really for low temps to negative temps only. I’ve worn it in -10 feels like -20 with wind weather outside all day for 10 hours. Kept me warm and wind a non factor. Underneath a carhart rough cut jacket, carhart fleece sweatshirt, and base layer of tights. Similar to Armstrong jacket, but overall much better. Rain/wind/ weather proof. This is a carhart essential, must have jacket Also recommend Bartlett jacket heavier Sherpa coat, range of motion good not great like cruder but look is better, feels great on. Mans jacket for sure.

    Hate the inside pockets. Angle pocket non-functional... doesn't hold anything? Velcro pocket hard to open.. too small. Don't like the sleeve ends. Where can I get the old style. If you really work outside, I mean really work.. you see right away how bad this design is. Just saying. Old style much better.

    I am 66 years old and fit, 175 pounds and a hair under six feet tall. I generally wear a Medium, sometimes a Large. I was looking for a jacket to wear in the woods -- rugged and water repellent. I saw this jacket online and it seemed to fit my needs. The photo on the website said the model was 6' 2", taller than I am, and wearing a Medium. It fit him well. This made me wonder if the sleeves would be too long on me. I bought the jacket and when it arrived I found that yes, the sleeves were too long. They came to the base of my thumb, almost to the first knuckles of my fingers. Also, the lower half of the jacket was cut to fit someone with a much thicker waist -- a real Dad bod. The shoulders were fine, and the jacket is very warm with a briar resistant finish, but the Medium doesn't fit me, and I'm not prepared to try a Small. I returned this jacket and bought one from a different company whose sizing I can depend on.

    I bought this new full swing series jacket. And super comfortable and already broken in. The only problem was I took with me out of town for work and the double zipper has a lot of trouble zipping it up. Not sure if it is defective or just poor design because the jacket is perfect for the work I do.

    This is a really nice jacket. It's starting to get cold here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I'm a Framer/Carpenter and work outside in all of the elements. This jacket is exactly what I needed. I fluctuate between medium and large shirts of different brands. I'm 5'10 and 155 lbs, so I got a large. Fits perfect with room for a hoodie or layers underneath. Cant wait to work in this thing!

    Absolutely love this jacket! I borrowed a mates when my old (non Carhartt jacket) busted so bought one for myself. Great jackets! Super durable. Happy purchaser! As an Aussie purchaser I was disappointed that the parcel was left at my front door on a Friday as no one was home all weekend and my expensive jacket could have been stolen very easily. Signature on delivery should be compulsory!

    Awesome jacket, I don’t like big bulky jackets, this one is perfect, super soft, lays flat on the body, super comfy! There are two grips I have, the pocket size for the hands are hard to get into. It takes a second but you can get your hands in there. The other thing is the zipper is the double zipper and they are just hard to get zipped up. That is just a personal preference. This jacket is well worth the money and I would definitely buy it again!!!

    It’s a great jacket. Super warm and comfortable. I absolutely despise that fact that there are two zippers on it. You have to seat both of them perfectly for the jacket to function. It’s just an unnecessary hassle. I had to go a size up from my usual Carhartt size which is a surprise given it’s a Loose Fit. Seems to be common with Carhartt apparel now.

    Love the jacket, dislike the draw string. Tag says, “after 80 years, we finally got it right” BUT… When you pull the draw string to stop the wind from blowing up your back, it just hangs out in space. Not only does that stupid string snag on door knobs, seatbelt buckle when you’re trying to stuff the buckle in the latch and every darn thing you walk past… 3 time’s it’s caught and pulled my EDC knife out of my pocket. Oh yeah, and it looks STUPID hanging out, looking unprofessional. SO… In an effort to help you create and build a better product I sewed in a loop to hold the draw string inside the jacket. I’m sure you’d install a little snap retainer or something better, but this is all I got. See pictures: Have a good day.

    Very high quality. The range of motion in the arms is great without your cuff ever riding up or the coat bunching. Waterproofing is impressive so far. Angled cuffs is a wonderful detail. Hood is longer than I like. Perhaps to accommodate someone wearing a winter hat under the hood? Either way it can block the vision just a smidge. Seems very warm.

    I love this jacket!! The full swing technology is amazing, I never have to worry about it binding or getting tight anywhere. I’m actually buying a second one for work in another color. I feel it is a tad pricey, but I do also realize it uses more material than a normal jacket. Either way, WORTH IT!!

    Exactly what I wanted. A medium weight, waterproof, jacket/coat with six pockets and a hood. Put a vest or fleece underneath and you have a heavy duty set up. Size is generous. Only minor complaint is front lower pockets are kind of small; surprised Carhartt thought that skimping there was worth saving a few pennies. Carhartt gloves don’t fit in pockets! But otherwise love the coat.

    I purchased the Full Swing Cryder Jacket for my husband. He is a Land Surveyor. He loves the full range of motion he has with the jacket. He also likes that it is lightweight, but still is warm enough for a cooler day. The only draw back is that he wishes it was about an inch longer. It still covers. It's more of a personal preference for him.

    Just bought this a few days ago, I’ve never owned a carhartt before but glad I went into the store! The employee was extremely helpful, she went beyond what most employees do when asked and I never had to ask for anything! Back to the jacket, I am 6ft 280lbs so I went with the 2XLT and love the length! It doesn’t come up when I bend over and the front is just long enough to not ride up when reaching for something high.. MY ONLY COMPLAINT....the sleeves are just a little to long, I get that they made them long on purpose but a little shorter and it would be 5 stars. I roll the cuff up once and it helps but wish I didn’t have too! It is very warm, I would say it’s definitely on the heavier side (actual weight) but it doesn’t feel it when it’s on. I can move with freedom and don’t have to worry about the sleeves riding up or it being tight on my back. This was a great idea and glad I got it. I would definitely recommend purchasing this jacket!

    Best jacket ever. I bought the male Medium version even though im female. I dislike pretty much all the female version carhartt products. Im 5’3” roughly 145 pounds but athletic in shape build not overweight and out of shape. Fits perfectly. Not too big not too small, room to wear actual clothes underneath without feeling like you are in a straight jacket without looking like you are swimming in your husbands coat. When I buy male tshirts I buy the medium as well. Im a 36C bust size 8-10 pant depending on brand. For instance silver jeans I buy a 29 but in 5.11 I buy a 10. Size medium underware.

    I bought the Cryder for my husband but the length was too short. He wanted it to be a bit longer so we had to return it. The arm length was good though. It also wasn't as heavy or warm as he needed it to be. We bought the Sandstone Sherpa lined jacket because it fit his needs better. Overall a good jacket if you don't mind the length.

    Great jacket, heavy duty and really keeps you warm. Great for keeping the wind out too!. It runs a big big on me in the arms at 5' 10" but the medium would have been snug. I get full range of motion in the arms and shoulders and does not hike up your back when crouching. This is second Carhartt winter item and I highly recommend them,

    This is my favorite jacket I have ever purchased from carhartt. I love my canvas jackets but this one is just a little different. It’s way more comfortable right off the shelf and feels more broken in. This is my first full swing and new go to. The only thing is, the jacket is not as long as i expected it to be. It’s not super short by any means, just a little shorter then I would think.

    This is the most comfortable and hard working Carhartt jacket I own. I was concerned that it wasn't going to be warm enough in the middle of winter, but I was surprised that I found myself taking it off because I was so warm. This is a must have for anyone who works outside and needs a dependable jacket.

    I bought this as a gift for my husband online. When I say this runs true to size, I mean true to size for a loose fit. All of my husbands other Carhartt jackets are an XL and this was an XL tall in a loose fit and you can tell the difference, he doesn't mind it but I think I could have bought a Large.

    I selected that it runs large. When i say it runs large i mean slightly large. Im a small guy, 5’9 135 lbs. so it looks just a bit big on me when ordering the small size.I chose 4 stars for durability but ive only had the jacket for 2 weeks, it may be a 5 star. Seems well made.This is a very comfortable jacket. I love the way it looks, there are pockets everywhere, the sleeves wrap perfectly around my gloves, and its pretty warm. The hood is slightly large, but would pair very well with a large hat underneath. I bought this jacket for a everyday wear and i think it will be perfect. Absolutely no break in necessary, unlike my artic extreme, which is like a piece of plywood.

    The full swing cut of this jacket allows the shoulder room and range of motion needed without having to size up for a much more flattering overall fit. The quick duck fabric looks more polished in addition to offering better water repellancy and quicker drying. Very happy with the upgrades and would definitely recommend over the traditional Carhartt jacket for both performance and looks.

    My new favorite cold weather work jacket. Nice to find tall sizes available. Typically jackets come up too short in the arms for me and restrict movement. This one allows full coverage down past my wrists and no binding or restrictions with full arm movement. Nice and warm but not stuffy or too puffy. Nice pocket location as well.

    Bought this jacket after a weekend winter trip to a friend's farm because I needed a jacket to keep me warm. After wearing it for a few days, the jacket lives up to it's reviews. It's extremely comfortable, durable and warm. The temps where I live were close to zero and it kept me warm the entire time.

    I wanted a work jacket that would keep me warm when it's below freezing while making deliveries with a truck, and this does the job very well. It's insulated and warm but doesn't feel too heavy or bulky. Sometimes you have to position the zipper all the way down to get it to zip up if it doesn't go the first time, but it zips fine otherwise. Overall a great winter work jacket and looks stylish also!

This Cryder Full Swing is extremely comfortable and easy to move around in. The est way I can think of it is that you don't notice it. It doesn't ride up when you are working. It doesn't feel in the way when you are in a vehicle commuting, and it keeps you quite warm and does it's job.

    Like jacket. Good length on arms. Wish would have gotten the tall size. Seem little short.as for fit I won’t comment because everyone is different.

    The jacket fits okay - perhaps should have purchased a size larger. It is very comfortable but the color is a bit odd from the picture but I am getting used to it. It is definitely not an extreme weather cold jacket but it does a good job down to 20 degrees F.

    The Cryder Jacket is a very nice functional jacket and true to size, i typically like to leave room for a hoodie layer under the jacket and it still allows full mobility with another layer. My only gripe is the outer fabric clings to ALL animal pet hair. sometimes looks like i am shedding. great jacket otherwise and would recommend this jacket

    I bought the jacket for my Dad who is hard to fit. He’s a big fellow and he’s muscular. So finding a coat to fit an overweight muscular man can be challenging (kind of like an NFL Lineman). He wore out his old Carhartt Coat riding his bike year round in the SE Michigan weather. So it saw snow and rain and wind. It fits him well and holds up, even though he’s not swinging a hammer for work. Thanks!

    Received this jacket about 2 weeks ago and have had a chance to use it outdoors in the sub-zero MN winter. My findings on the following; movement, warmth, fit/finish Movement - the design of this jacket does in fact allow for unrestricted movement and mobility as advertised. Arms and shoulders are kept free to move as needed. Warmth - while this jacketed isn't the warmest of Carhartt's products it does provide decent protection against the cold. There is room within to add additional layers to increase the warmth. I believe the cut of the jacket was meant to provide that option. Fit/Finish - The stitching and fabric is in-line with the Carhartt brand. The QuickDuck has some additional built in movement as it is thinner but appears to be as robust at avoiding snags or tears - time will only tell. Some other items of note: The hood is large and helpful to keep out the cold when I am without a hat. It did help to cinch the bungee cord to tighten the fit.

It’s fkexible fit is great for movement. I wear a T-shirt underneath in 15 degree weather and I’m warm. I would definitely recommend.

    Fantastic quality with great workmanship. Very comfortable and warm good for Michigan winters. But the most pleasant surprise is the the coat zipper definitely higher in the last coat I had and was the reason for burying this new coat great job Carhartt.

    I had bought this jacket in the women’s version for myself. My husband really liked it and decided he would like to get the men’s version. The men’s version is just as nice as the women’s. There is room to move without feeling constricted. The jacket has the broken in feeling already. It’s also warm and durable. The hood is detachable I like the women’s version. It also has the double zipper which the women’s doesn’t. Both nice features. I would definite suggest this jacket to someone.

    This jacket is the best Carhartt I have ever owned. My only gripe is that they run small. I wear a 3XL Carhartt Workwear pocket T shirt and I thought a 3XL jacket would fit but it is uncomfortably snug. I had to get a 4XL

    I love this jacket! I needed something with a hood that offered moderate warmth with room to move and was water resistant. This jacket hits all the marks. It's easy to move in and has pleanty of pocket space. Added bonus is it's a handsome looking jacket. I highly recommend this product!

    Our son, 6’7, 290#, has difficulty finding any clothes to fit properly. He tried your swing jacket and immediately fell in love with it! We purchased it for his birthday. He wears it every time he goes out. It is a permanent fixture on him! Highly recommend it.

    I purchased two. One for my son, who has many many carhart pieces. But needed a new coat. Was wearing his dads old one. Had to be 20 yrs old. Liner in great shape,but outside was falling apart. Then I purchased one for my daughter. Once I saw how well made they are....I had to get her one. Best Christmas present ever!!!!!

    My company bought this jacket for me and I absolutely love it!. I was not a big fan of Carhartt jackets because the material that they use to me it looked uncomfortable and stiff. Also, the material in normal Carhart jackets look like work jackets This jacket completely changed my mind about Carhartt and not only is it a great work jacket but it doesn't look like a work jacket. It is very comfortable, flexible and extremely warm. I can wear it in 15°F weather with only a t-shirt underneath and stay warm. I have to take off my other jacket made for cold weather as soon as I go indoors because I will start to sweat where as this doesn't happen wearing the Carhartt. I highly recommend buying this jacket. I am normally on the border between Large and XL. In other brands large jacket will be tight on me if I'm wearing anything other than a T-shirt underneath. In other brands Xl fits me perfect if I'm wearing multiple layers. The Carhartt XL is little big on me, I could have gotten away ordering the Large.

I found the solution!! This coat is more supple then duck, but looks to be as durable. Super comfortable! Pockets are in the right spot. The collar behaves and stays out of the way. I finally found the perfect coat!

    Great fit. I normally wear large shirts/coats because I have long arms and a 32' waist at 6' tall. But this medium fits me well. It would be perfect if it was built in a long, but Carhartt doesn't do that in the medium. I like the flexible material. This coat can serve as a good work coat and a nicer coat once cleaned for more formal occasions.

    Its a nice jacket but it doesnt resist water much and the sleeves are really big around your wrist, not the liner but the outter jacket. I was hoping it would be a but warmer but it should be a decent jacket.

    I bought this for my son and he has said repeatedly how much he likes it. It’s comfortable and warm. He especially likes the interior knot cuffs on the sleeves. It took us a minute to figure out the zipper though. Some instructions would have been helpful. We worried that we were going to break it because it was stuck and very hard to disengage.

    I had a Carhartt jacket that I was pretty happy with but, having lost some weight, was looking to get a new jacket one size down. I decided this one had the most promise to satisfy what I was looking for. I've had it for a couple months and am very happy I chose it. Here's why: -- The length (I'm 6' 0" and went with the regular length) plus non-elastic waist I find comfortable and non-restrictive. That said, it has elastic draw strings on the bottom hem so you can cinch it in if you want (probably not something I'll use and if you like a cinched bottom, a jacket with an elastic bottom hem probably makes more sense). -- Removable hood. This will be my "heaviest" jacket for the winter (admittedly not a super warm jacket, but still pretty darn warm--I like to do layers, so can up the warmth with a vest/fleece underneath when needed) but I've removed the hood anyways. I rarely use a hood, preferring those flat around the back ear muff things if really cold. But I like having the option of putting the hood back on if I know I'm going to be doing something outdoors for a long time in very cold weather. -- I like the material, the jacket doesn't feel heavy at all on me yet is warm, and is water repellent. -- Hand pockets with snap closure. Pocket closure wasn't essential but I like it (less worried about losing a glove as I often take my jacket off on my commute) and I'm much happier with snap over the zipper hand pocket closures that my old Carhartt jacket has --I worried with that old jacket that the zippers would do a number on my watch's face when I put my hand into the pocket. -- The full swing design is supposed to give a lot of freedom of movement in the arms. I think it lives up to the claim nicely. -- Smooth chest areas. There are two handy vertical zipper pockets very close to the center zipper that don't get in the way of a shotgun buttstock (I wear this when out shooting). My older Carhartt jacket has breast pockets with horizontal snap closure flaps; not great when raising your shotgun to your shoulder to aim and fire. -- DOES NOT HAVE A ZIPPER FLAP WITH VELCRO CLOSURES. (Doesn't have a zipper flap at all, which is fine). I will not buy a jacket that has a flap over the zipper that has velcro closures. The velcro snags on things, gets threads and fluff stuck in it so looks awful, and you have to listen to velcro every time you take off your jacket. Listen up jacket/coat designers: If there's a flap, snaps are fine. Buttons, ok. Never velcro! -- Color. My older Carhartt is black and tends to readily show animal hair and lint. Plus the black seemed to show wear quicker as the black became "not quite" black in some areas relatively quickly and also seems to show ring around the collar more quickly. I got the shadow (grey) color, which appears to be faring better with all of the foregoing. I also will note it has a double pull zipper, meaning the kind where the top pull closes the zipper and then if you want you can pull up the bottom pull to start unzipping some from the bottom. I wasn't looking for that feature when shopping, but turns out I like it as I can unzip the bottom a few inches to make wearing the jacket zipped in a vehicle while driving more comfortable.
