    Would strongly recommend to anyone who works all day outdoors. I'm a yard hostler so I'm moving around constantly and this jacket offers great comfort and warmth for my type of work. Especially when combined with wearing a good base layer under it - I love it.

    This jacket performs as designed. No binding in the shoulders or arms while chopping wood or other chores around the house. And it looks great too! I am surprised that it has a 2 Warm rating though because it is pretty warm. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a warm jacket that freely moves with you while doing chores.

    Awesome jacket. I had mine for 16 years from working on shrimp boat to Alaskan crab boat to working in drilling for natural gas.. this jacket has went through a lot and still hasn’t worn out.. now my son is working in the lumber industry and decided to steal his old man’s jacket?? 2 generations this jacket has provided warmth while working and camping!! My kids would put their legs down one arm of the jacket and cover up with it like a sleeping bag!! At first the jacket may be a bit stiff but as soon as it gets damp it loosens up and is great

    I bought the hooded full swing last year and the zipper was hard to use. I figured being new, it would become easier to use over time. It didn't. The jacket worked fine, other than letting any gust of wind penetrate. My warning is that if the zipper gives you any problems before purchase - DON'T BUY IT. A coat less than 2 years old has to be trashed. A real shame.

    I'm 5 11 and 260lbs and got a 2x and its pretty big. I'm usually a 2x but with this go down a size.

    Almost perfect, just don't sit or bend over.

    I love everything about this jacket except the elastic at the waist. It blocks the wind beautifully and keeps me dry in the rain. The flex fit or whatever it's called is great and nice and loose in the elbows and shoulders. The only problem is that you cannot bend over without the elastic at the waist pulling right up and taking your shirt with it. This is how plumbers get that reputation, well the same is true for carpenters and farmers. So, as long as you are standing it's great, just don;t sit or bend. I wear a medium which fits perfectly in the arms and shoulders, perhaps it should be coat length?

    This coat is pretty great. Two notable downsides - it comes with an elastic drawstring to cinch the hood... When fully zipped up the tighteners basically live on your chin or in your mouth. Totally annoying and uncomfortable. I cut them out almost immediately, no need. Secondly I've found the fabric flap behind the zipper takes some special attention to keep out of the way of the zipper each time I zip the coat up. Otherwise this thing rocks! With the gussets in the shoulders I have all the space a guy could ever need. The elbows move nicely too. Worth the extra coin over the standard.

I've always had the regular active duck jackets; and they're great jackets, but anytime you bend over or reach up with your arms they ride up. The full swing doesn't really do that. Only reason for 4 stars is I believe I'm an in between size. Carhartt said I'd be a large ( I'm 5' 10" tall, 175 lbs), I decided to go with a medium instead because I know they're stuff runs big. It's almost a perfect fit; sleeve length is perfect, still have a little extra room in the chest and belly area when zipped up, it's just a little snug around the waist.

    I owned a Carhart jacket 25 years ago that I gave to my brother because there was no freedom of movement in the shoulders/arms. I always like the look of the Carhart jacket so decided to try this one when I saw it. What a difference, I think it will be my favorite jacket. Fit's great!

    Ive had many carhartt garments over the years, however this jacket is the WORST i've ever had. I washed it one time *using the instructions on the tag* to try and loosen the awfully firm zipper area and it came out looking like an acid washed jean jacket from the 80s. This is touted as a comfortable jacket, but it rides up my back at every turn and not even looks like crap.

    I bought the Full Swing active jac. for its full swing functionality, it works exactly as advertised. I can swing an axe over my head and the material doesn't pull at all. it runs a little big on me, im 6"3' and the L Tall was a little big i'd recommend the Tall option for people who are 6"5' and up. Overall the interior is very warm and the design is flawless in my opinion. 5/5

    Great jacket, love the full swing but sizing is way off. Please update your sizing charts. I ordered this jacket 3x. My girlfriend originally got me the J140 for Christmas in large and it was huge, I could fit another full size coat underneath. She returned it and I ordered this in a large again looking at the charts and fit reviews on the website. Nope too wide again but length was good, so I got the medium long. Nope, the medium long was longer then the large, again, I had referred to the charts and the reviews, they were wrong. Finally got the medium it's great but I live in the desert so getting it right in March means it will used a few times maybe then hang til October or November, thanks! 5'11" chest 44" waist 36" shoulders 21" just to reference

    Absolutely the best jacket on the market. Great movement and style. Can actually reach up and forward without having my cheeks and belly show. Would reccomend to anyone who actually works for a living and fake lumberjacks with sandalwood scented beard oil.

    I have used this jacket for 3 winters now and my only issue with it is that I have been too warm! I usually work 9-10 hour days and this has stood up to every test its been through. I would definitely recommend this jacket, it is well worth the money

    I'm definitely happy with my purchase of the full swing armstrong active jac. It fits me perfectly and keeps me warm while I'm in the bucket and on the ground. I'm generally in temperatures around 32°f for the season and am having no problem staying warm. Best thing about it is that I can lift, bend and twist without the jacket rising above my waist. It's great.

    My husband loves his new jacket. He is normally a size large at 5’11”. He finds the large tall size in this jacket gives him that extra arm length while he’s on the job and working outside. The jacket is a huge hit. The best Christmas present. Delivery was so much sooner than we anticipated and service from Carharrt has been great.

    Once I tried this jacket on I just knew it was the one. I am a thin guy and it looks great on me aswell. So many jackets look big and clumsy on me and this one is perfect. I also love how it doesn’t feel like a stiff potato sack yet is made from a very durable material. I also really like how the elastic cuffs are inside the end of the jacket sleeves. Looks so much better this way. Feels broken in from the start. Sometimes I’ll throw on a light sweatshirt underneath it if it’s really cold outside. I bought this jacket mid October so it’s been about 3 months of ownership and I have no regrets buying it. My only complaint is how the zipper comes all the way to the top and when zipped all the way the hood zip cord pulls run into my neck/chin

    I've had mine for a little over a month and I'm in love with it. It's incredibly flexible and cozy while remaining tough and rugged. Can tell it's going to last me a while.     Great jacket! Super heavy and the gussets on the back make movement while wearing it so effortless for such a thick weight. I am 6’ exactly and a medium fits a little large on me but I’m 135lbs right now which is small for 6’.

After a few days of wearing it, I cannot get the zipper started without looking down to see what I'm doing. The zipper is to small and is fussy to get locked in to zip up. This jacked really needs a big manly zipper, especially if you're wearing gloves. I would of gave it 5 stars if it wasn't for the wimpy zipper. Besides that, it's a nice HD warm jacket.

    Great jacket that is durable enough to work in, but also looks good enough to go to church in. Love the elastic cuffs that pair well with gloves. The insulation is just enough to keep you warm, but not too much to make it bulky. Carhartt is my favorite brand of jacket.

    Pros: Durable weatherproof duck exterior. Unlike some other Carhartt styles, full Zip closure keeps neck warm & Full Swing design provides great articulation without jacket riding up or pulling sleeves down. Cons: armpit flaps catch on obstacles when carrying objects in tight places and can act like shovel when on back under truck or tractor on snowy ground. Like other Carhartt styles, two front pockets provide comfortable hand warmer design, but should have a single snap at center to not collect snow or lose pocket contents while working. Overall great winter work jacket, especially paired with Zip-to-Waist Quilt Lined Duck Bibs.

    I don't care for reviews people write as soon as they open a package, but there are some surprising things about this jacket that cause me to write just such an "inexperienced" review. First is what I consider to be amazing comfort and freedom of movement in this "full swing" design. I'm nearly 60 and simply have never had a coat that didn't bind or pull at all. Except for its significant weight, this thing is like wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt. I am astonished that I can reach across my body or overhead without any constraints at all. That's no exaggeration. It's all the more impressive because I expected to need a 2XLT, but ordered XLT on the advice of online chat. XLT is plenty roomy and the sleeves still easily reach my wrists with arms overhead (I wear a 36-37 shirt sleeve, am 6' 2", 250 lbs.). Secondly, this fabric is surprisingly soft right out of the box. This jacket is *comfortable* right now. Thirdly, though this is a warm weekend, the jacket seems warmer than I expected based on its description. I look forward to cooler weather next week to try it out. I have a number of coats and jackets from an old, established retailer in the far, far northeast US. They're great coats for more dressy use, they wear well, but they tend to run small (and get smaller as time passes and costs rise). Not so with my new Carhartts; plenty of room in the same advertised size. So my first impression is: GREAT!

    I own a few different Carhartt jackets and sweaters; this is already one of my favorite jackets. There are three primary features that impressed me with this jacket: 1. Weight. It is heavier than expected. However, that is something I look for in a work jacket. 2. Maneuverability. I find this 'Active' jacket easy to work in. 3. Insulation. This jacket has kept me warm and if needed, I can a layer this with a hoodie. Overall, great jacket

    This jacket is amazing! I love the storm cuffs, we'll designed pockets and gusseted shoulders. It is also very warm! I am 5'8" 175lbs, my only issue is that it is long in the body and the elastic is quite tight- I reckon the elastic will loosen up and maybe a wash will allow the excess fabric to fold over. Sleeve length, however, is great.

    Absolutely the best, most comfortable, warmest, durable jacket I have ever owned in my life. I’m extremely active and this jacket has been through the ringer and still performs as the day I bought it. It only seems the get better with age.     This is the perfect jacket. Heavy without being bulky and the Full Swing is no joke; I can move around and work normally without any binding, twisting, or pulling from this jacket. Very well made and comfortable. Fantastic coverage and design on the sleeves with the angled cut and interior rib-knit cuffs. Interior pockets are a nice touch as well, especially the zippered pocket. I absolutely love this jacket! I am 5'10" and 172 lbs. and the size Medium is perfect!

    A great coat, more comfortable than a more typical (non full swing) Carhartt, but just as well made and durable. My only negative comment is this coat has a lighter zipper than any of my other Carhartts. It works fine now, but seems the more traditional heavier zipper might be better in the long run. I do recommend this coat, and already have.

    Tried out this jacket at my local carhartt store and felt like I finally found a proper jacket that didn't limit mobility and was super warm. I definitely don't need to layer as much with this one, especially with the fleece lining. The sleeve cuffs (outer sleeve, not the actual stretchable cuffs themselves) are a bit a wide and make placing your hands in the pockets seem a bit weird (maybe it's just my OCD) but other than that, this jacket is perfect. The hood's fantastic, the drawstrings for the collar are great and it's durable as hell. I've already worn this through snow, rain, and sleet, worked outside in it, and it kept me dry and warm.

    I don’t like it. I am a tradesman and need access to my belt and pockets constantly. The jacket I have purchased and worn for over 20 years was discontinued for some reason and I will need to start looking elsewhere now The pockets in my usual jacked never had anything fall out. The First day, I lost something out of one of the side pockets. The inside pockets are different and the felt lining makes it difficult to put on and causes static. I do not like the attached hood. I have a detachable hood for my old jackets that worked just fine.

    The arm flaps dedicated to better swing motion are a great improvement from other styles. The zipper functions well. I love the big pocket in the breast pocket of the coat.

I have washed it and it expected it to fit differently....NOPE. Fits the exact same way out of the dryer every time. I've worn this in the Fall all the way into the dead of winter and it keeps me warm and dry in any season. Highly recommend.

    It is a comfortable and warm jacket however I find the design of the hood to be flawed. I ordered it online so I didnt get to try it on but I didnt like how the hood was part of the jacket's zipper system. Also I found that the drawstrings for the hood to be poorly placed. I applaud the idea of hiding the strings but when the jacket was zipped up the two knuckles for the drawstrings were right in my throat making it very uncomfortable. Other than tbe hood design I feel this would be a really great jacket. I loved the fleece lining aspect.

    Overall I'm very happy with the jacket it's built well, solid, durable, and stands up to a.cold windy day very well. The only issue I have is that I have large wrists and I find that even with the extension inside it's a bit tight and constrictive on my wrists. When I wear my SmartWatch it's very difficult to get to it when I have the jacket on. A gusset or Velcro or elastic area would be beneficial..... I don't want to modify it but I feel like if I slit the area open it will allow for more mobility and easier access and comfort in regards to my SmartWatch and gloves etc.... With its durability and insulation comes a small price it is a heavy coat and when it gets wet from snow and rain it's even heavier... That being said I'm happy to have it to keep me warm and working...

    This Full Swing Loose Fit Washed Duck Fleece-Lined Active Jacket is a good deal much more that I had hoped for. It's a great jacket for working in the cold/wet, but I wanted something much lighter weight. I already had a heaver jacket which is longer than this one. I would rate this jacket 5 stars, but I just wanted a lighter weight jacket. It's great, but a bit too much for me. It's very nice looking (Smoke color).

    Why does Black cost $10 more than Navy? I'd say black is more popular color so they charge us more. One other thing with the black I purchased is it collects a lot of lint and hair. Hoping that goes away as the jacket wears. I don't have that problem with an older carhartt brown one.

    33 yo female here. Size 10. I purchased the Men's Small in the dark brown for myself because I work outside. I was told in the store that mens Carhartt jackets are made better than women's so I purchased this. The fleece lining is great. I wore it in sleet for 8 hours. It got soaked but I stayed dry and it kept me super warm, even thought it doesn't claim to be waterproof. I picked this one because I knew the wind wouldn't get inside thanks to the tight waist band.

    I’m a 5’2 female that weighs 120lbs who bought a size small and everything fits good besides the bottoms scrunch part. I am not sure why it was made so tight especially due to it being a men’s jacket. I purposely bought men’s to achieve a looser fit. Other than the bottom cinch, it is a great jacket that I am still super happy with.

    this jacket is very good all i use in winter. well made, tough material, and looks good. bi swing back (full swing) is an important feature as it allows me to move freely without the jacket getting out of shape. you will understand if you get one

    It is pretty good, definitely should be got on sale. I think the full price is to much but the sale price is not to bad. I live in California where it gets to be around 25F at the coldest part of the Winter. It is around 40F in the morning now and it is working good with just a t shirt. I think once it is around 25F I am going to need a t shirt, hoody, and the jacket. It has good pockets, nothing special though.

    Warmest jacket ever! I love the fleece lining is so soft and the outer layer is great protective material and blocks wind. True to size and tight rubbed cuff in bottom hem and sleeves Keep all cold and wet weather out.

    This is actually my second full swing Armstrong active jacket. The zipper broke in my first jacket. I missed it as it was my favorite “go too” jacket. I had to get a replacement. It’s not restrictive at all no matter how you move. It’s comfortable and feels “just right” as soon as you throw it on.

    Jacket seems good however the zipper is very light duty and has already separated from itself twice. Also the hood pull strings are digging into my neck.
