These pants run at least a waist size smaller. I reordered these pants in a size larger. The length was spot on.

1 star because these are work pants, and they're not durable enough for a construction worker. Comfortable, fast drying, however in 3 months I've torn both pants in numerous places. One of the cargo pockets ripped clean off. The pocket didnt catch on anything, had one 16oz water bottle in my pocket, I kneeled down and pocket ripped on 3 sides.... if you work as a painter, theyll work. However if you work as electrician, plumber, iron worker, elevator constructor I would avoid.

Wish I went up a width size, but definitely satisfied. Very comfortable.

Very comfortable, light weight with some of the strongest velcro pockets i encountered. Just wish they were offered in black. But they are great fit and light weight.

They are very comfortable and light. True to size. The cargo pockets would be better if they were a little larger; not much room if you have stocky legs.

I purchased 2 pair of these pants, as I wear mostly cargo pants and was looking for something new and different. I teach technical rescue part-time on the road and was looking for something affordable (not 5.11) and durable. These seem to be the best bang for my buck. They will wrinkle very easy, but if they are unpacked and allowed to hang most of the wrinkles fall right out. I like these pants so much they are now my everyday pants. I will be purchasing more, in other colors.

I have another pair of pants just like this in size and color. I liked them so much that I wanted another pair. I could not find them locally so I ordered from Carhartt. They are bigger than the pair I have and am having them hemmed up. 34-32. If you buy one of theses pants, maybe consider getting them in a size smaller then you normally get.

Love these pants. Bought the shirts last summer they are perfect for work as a kindergarten teacher. They’re comfortable, tough and look professional. Decided to buy the pants for the winter. I feel exactly the same about them. Bought enough for 10 years.

these pants are great except for the back pockets, the entrance is too narrow and tight, they need to be like the side pockets, bellowed out, then these pants would be 5 stars. Now here are the pros: great gusseted crotch and bellowed out side pockets which has a pen insert on one of them. I would recommend a separate pen/pencil insert right next to each side pocket. The fabric also has a great feel to it, also very breathable. The sizing is spot on, I'm 5'11" 145lbs, normally wear a 30/30 and these fit great on me on my usual size.

These pants were built for my work life. I work at a desk/storefront/warehouse/forklift and wearing all hats, it was hard to find a combo of office wear/work wear that you have to look presentable but can still get dirty! With these pants, I'm able to combine the two and not have to worry about destroying my office clothes anymore. These are lightweight but durable (have had them for over a year now), pockets are great with tool storage and roomy for all the other junk I need to carry around. I think they run a little small as I wear a 34 or 36 waist but in Carhartt a 38. Not a big deal as I never had a problem with fit. These are great all around pants for work, laying under a truck wrenching, or casual dress. My first pair is finally starting to show some wear in the knee but I'm not going to complain as they lasted longer than other pants I have purchased in the past! Thanks Carhartt, for making pants that fit my lifestyle/work life!

I used to love Carhartt products. They used to make some very durable pants. I moved from Colorado to Texas so needed something cooler so got a pair of the Tappen Cargo Pants. Within 3 months, they tore at the corner of the cargo pocket. I don't use the pocket for anything heavy, just my phone... Thought it was a fluke so got another pair of the same pants. Again, within 3 months the new pair tore in the exact same place, the back corner of the right cargo pocket. They look okay but the quality, durability, and functionality of these pants are no good. The velcro pockets are very difficult to get into, both rear pockets and cargo pockets. They pockets are too small to fit a normal sized man's hand. It's a struggle to remove my wallet from the rear pocket and my normal sized (no Note, XL, or large sized phone) from the front cargo pocket. No more Carhartt's for me...

I have another older pair of Force Tappen that fit me great (made in Nicaragua) , but these I had ordered (the same size) but now made in china did not fit in the waist or thigh area, the Chinese are made smaller. I returned the Chinese pants. Quality control needs to be improved

Love the pants, very well made, comfortable to work in, lots of room to work in. However, the belt size runs a little small. I suggest you get 1 size larger. And I really, like the pocket watch, pocket.

Thought they were going to be slightly tapered or at least Straight Leg. Once i put them on they felt like Boot Cut. If i can take my pant leg and easily roll it up past my knee to my thigh then they are too big for my liking.

A little tight in the thighs other than that they are really nice.

I think the President should make Carhartt bring all of their business back to America so I can get some pants that fit . I'm not from China and evidently they don't have any quality control over there or maybe they are making clothing for smaller people. Why should I pay for a product that is not up to the standards and quality values that I was raised by.

I bought two pair of these and love them but after washing them a couple of times they shrank. They fit great off the rack. Made from very tough materials. Look great! Unfortunately don't do me much good just hanging in my closet. Also they are NOT cheap! I just felt stuck because I bought them at Academy Sports and trashed my receipt since they seemed fine for first couple laundry cycles. Its a shame because I want to buy a larger size and try again but I am gun shy due to the cost. So learn from my mistake and go up at least one size. THEY WILL SHRINK!!!

I've got three pairs, and all three of them (same label size) are all different lengths and widths. Not consistent at all except that they all run about a size below (if you wear a 38, order a 40) otherwise, they're comfortable. Unknown how they're going to ware yet.

Been wearing these for a few years over the Other brands on the market, as uniform pants while in law enforcement . I recently changed jobs and company “Uniforms” were terrible, so I ordered 4 more pair in gravel color to wear as uniform pants for new company.

These are the worst work pants I've ever had. Not even a month and the butt is already ripped to the point I have to throw them away. ??

I like them a great deal. I had a couple pairs that I got when a store was closing and found them to be very comfortable and useful. The one thing that I have a problem with is the length. I normally wear pants with a 29" length. Your pants all have even number lengths, so I have to have them shortened. Otherwise they are great. I will be buying more as the summer gets in full swing. I have already recommended them to several people that have stopped me to ask about them. Thanks for a good product.

My husband likes the lighter weight material and the fit is more tapered through the hip-thigh area which makes for a better fit than the other Carhatt cargo he wears. The only recommendation would be to use snaps instead of Velcro.

These pants are awesome.... with one major caveat: I originally bought 2 pair, which both split in the crouch after only 2 or 3 months of use. Other than their durability, I’ve really liked these pants and felt they’ve performed overall pretty good. I went on and bought 3 more pairs since. While I don’t feel that they last, or are as tough as advertised, I think they are the most practical pants for my line of work (land surveyor-field).

Awesome pants. Lightweight and very durable. Washes easily. I actually inadvertently got green spray paint on the mm the first day I wore theM. Went home and scrubbed the paint and it washed right out. The only complaint I have is the small utility pockets are on the left cargo pocket. Me being a right handed electrician it defeats the purpose of having small utility pockets to put lineman pliers and a screwdriver in while on a ladder. But other than that, these are excellent work pants.

I work at a landscape supply and hardscape center so I am moving around a lot and all day. When dealing with pavers, bricks, and especially natural stones I have to be able to squat down and lift these (sometimes) 100+lbs stones in a safe position. I purchased these pants with the assumption they were durable, nope. After 5weeks of owning them I noticed a small hole near the stitching of the cargo pocket and a few weeks after that I ripped another hole squatting to pick up a stone on my backside. I will say these pants are nice to wear around but if you are in a job like mine where you have to move around and get into a squat position these are not the pants to own. I was sadly disappointed with my purchase

These are my go to work pants. I wear them everyday most of the year. They are durable, functional and very comfortable especially in warm weather due to great breathability. The only drawback is that you wouldn't want to wear them outside all day in very cold weather. My only complaints are that the different pairs vary slightly in length and pocket placement, and that they only come in four colors.

My normal waist is 35" with a 32" inseam. Since this pant is not available in a 35" I purchased a 36". It's comfortable in the waist but very baggy in the legs (from the seat and things to the feet). I love Carhartt for the quality and durability, but they really need a straight-leg version of more of their pants. I understand the need for room to move when you're working but if you're someone like me with skinnier legs the pants are often just too baggy to wear comfortably. Looks are secondary, but it would be nice not to look as your close are always too large (which is necessary if you want a comfortable waist).

I love these pants! They fit great and are really comfortable! I work outdoors in Florida and these pants are great when it's 95 degrees with 80% humidity. I don't get hot and the breathable materiel is fantastic!

I was looking for lightweight rip-stop cargo pants and these fit the bill. I was not disappointed when I received them and wore them on vacation. I prefer the Velcro pocket closures to the snaps of some other Carhartt pants for travel purposes (getting through airport security]. I subsequently purchased the Tappen Cargo Shorts version [mainly for wearing around the house], and I am not big on wearing shorts. I would not have even considered buying the shorts if I had not tried the Tappen Cargo Pants.

These are comfortable, loose enough, and plenty of deep, safe pockets for wallet, cellphone, etc.
