Bio:
Founded in 1932, Rocky Boots manufactures and markets rugged outdoor, duty, work and western shoes, clothing and accessories. The company's products are available in nearly 3,000 retail and catalog outlets.
History:
Rocky Boots was founded by brothers William (Bill) Brooks and F.M. (Mike) Brooks, who moved to Nelsonville, Ohio during the Great Depression to start a shoe factory in 1932. During World War II and the Korean War, the William Brooks Shoe Co. supplied more than 1 million pairs of shoes and boots for military personnel. CEO Mike Brooks (grandson of F.M. Brooks) currently leads Rocky Boots in producing quality boots and apparel for occupational, recreational, and military/law enforcement customers.
Family of Brands:
Rocky Boots is still headquartered in Nelsonville, Ohio, manufacturing rugged outdoor and occupational shoes and clothing. A corporate office, warehouse, and distribution center now accompany the original manufacturing building, which was built in 1932.
Nearly 3,000 retail and catalog outlets carry Rocky Boots. The Rocky family includes such well-known brands as ROCKY®, GEORGIA BOOT®, GIANT®, DURANGO®, and licensed brands MOSSY OAK® and MICHELIN®.
Mission:
The mission of Rocky Boots is to create innovative shoes and clothing that delivers comfort, quality, and performance. Rocky strives to build lifelong relationships with their customers, and they depend on ROCKY® products for their jobs, their duties, and their outdoor recreation. Since their founding in 1932, Rocky Boots has always treated employees, vendors and customers with respect. Rocky will continue to strengthen that tradition as we move forward.
The Rocky Consumer:
Rocky's typical customer is someone who works and plays outdoors. He or she loves the natural world and takes advantage of every opportunity to practice and hone outdoor skills. Rocky Boots customers also respect nature and make an effort to leave an area in better condition than they found it. Rocky consumers stand behind products that perform, and are eager to try new innovations and technologies that improve their experience at work or play.
