    Ariat Terrain BootS

    I had an Ariat hiking boot for many years. The style has been discontinued so I tried the Terrain. I love it for long distance pavement walking. It also works well on uneven ground. It is a bit larger than my previous boot but I know the smaller size will be too small and tight.

    I haven't gotten to wear mine yet because they ran a full size bigger then what I normally wear. So I'm exchanging them, but they look really nice and they are super comfy. And I love my other Ariat products.

    Something has happened to Ariat's hiking terrain/riding boots. They are failing way before their time as the seams rip open at the corners on both shoes. Even my vet who wears them says the same thing. I taped up my old Ariats (that weren't even that old) with DUCT TAPE I was so mad. Now I bought another pair and wonder how short in duration they are going to last. They used to be the best and now...not.

    I purchased these about 11 years ago and have given them years of use. I knew immediately when I tried them on that they were the correct boots for me. Several years ago I went through chemotherapy and one of the issues I have had since then is neuropathy in both of my feet. For the most part, my left foot has cleared up, but my right foot continues to cause me issues and I have to be very careful what shoes I am wearing. These are the only footgear I can wear when hiking (I refuse to give that up). Occasionally I will need to stop and loosen the laces on my right foot, but other than that these are the most comfortable shoes I own. I wear them hiking - my feet stay where I put them and no twisted ankles and they are completely waterproof in even the wettest conditions. I wear them when urban shopping because they will cushion my feet on hard pavement. After all these years, I will regretfully have to replace these due to the sole starting to slightly separate from the leather upper - I so hate to part with my beloved hikers. I have literally taken these all over the world and they have held up to all different conditions and never let me down, but it is time to buy another pair. The other thing I love about Ariat is that they are true to size....a 7 is the same in a hiking boot, a paddock boot, and sandels (I speak from experience). These have been the best hikers I have ever owned (and I have owned a lot of them over then years)........

    I love these boots! They are comfortable and sturdy for working around the farm and have heals for riding, which is what I was looking for! They are easy to clean and have several colors to choose from!

    Fits like a glove right out of the box. Only footwear that I don't need arch supports to wear. The serape decor adds just the right amount of color to give a fun look without looking gaudy. Two thumbs up!!

    I bought these a year ago, and they are the most comfortable pair I have worn. I mainly use them for hiking.They fit true to size, lace up quickly, and give excellent arch and ankle support all day.

    I love,love,love these boots. Forget Nike,Reebok, or the other expensive athletic shoes. These are much more comfortable. They provide ankle support, arch and footbed support. I own 4 other pairs of Ariat Boots and these are without a doubt my favorites. I purchased these boots at Bootbarn and saved a bundle. I will be buying another pair in smooth leather. I just can't say enough good things about these boots.

    Terrains used to be my favorite, go to boots for all types of activity, from riding to working. I have 4 pairs that I have been rotating for about ten years. I bought a new pair about a year ago, and the toe caps have come off, the arch support is not very supportive, and the sides have ripped out. I also have 2 friends that purchased Terrains in the last year and they both complain of foot and knee pain when wearing them. I noticed that my 4 old pairs were made in China and the new ones (including my friends') were made in VietNam. Ariat - time to improve quality and fit to what they were in the past!! Tough for me to recommend and I may have to look for a replacement. :(

    [...]. Bought the boots having read other people's overwhelmingly positive reviews on Sheplar's website. They look feminine which is one of the things I wanted in a hard-wearing walking boot. The first thing I noticed when I unpacked them is how light they are which is perfect. Wore them immediately for two walks of an hour on mixed terrain - they were immediately very comfortable. Won't need breaking in which is a huge plus. Pleased with the good ankle support too and the grip seems good on slopes and slippery ground. Highly recommend.

    Beautiful boots that feel great. They really didn’t require any breaking in time, straight out of the box and on my feet. They are sturdy and well made and I don’t feel like the boots are wearing me like others I have tried. I’ve received several compliments on them and couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

    right out of the box the boots fit perfectly. I wore them fishing that day. I decided to fish off the bank as I enjoy the solitude and wore them into the mud and shallow water. They were great.     I love the style of boots and they are very comfortable for all day working. With a little leather protectant, my boots were also waterproof in no time! However the plastic toe tends to rip off easily and I had to return my original pair as within the month the toe was completely off and leaking when wet. The second pair has lasted 5months but again the plastic is cracking and peeling off. If that part was fixed, it would be a 10/10 for me!

    I absolutely loves these, couldn't wait for them to arrive. I have a couple of pair in brown! I have been looking forblack and here they were.Now Ineedanotherpair tokeepon the shelf! I usuallyalways have anew pair of brown, just in case I haven't had time to polish the pair I'm wearing. Being non-traditional in the line of work I do, I like my boots to match the tops I wear, my husband has to laugh! I have gotten a few of the other females that work out doors that now wear the same brand, they love them as well. Don't ever quit making them, at least not until I retire! Excellent womens foot wear.

    I bought these after I took a job caring for the pony ride horses at our local zoo. I am on my feet all day, for 8-9 hours, leading pony rides, cleaning paddocks and caring for the horses. These boots are not only comfortable all day long, but they stand up well to water, getting stepped on and still manage to fit the western theme of the pony area. I love them! My old boots were giving me blisters and runner's toe (bruising under toenail) but these boots don't rub and have a nice roomy toebox. LOVE THEM!!

They are so comfortable I can work all day in the yard or garden digging and lifting and I love that they are waterproof for waking in the few in the morning or if it rains while I’m walking or wet snow in the winter. Nothing stops me from going as long as I have these on. After 5 years or so I’ve had to get a new pair’s because the waterproof is gone but I think that is fantastic and I’ve gotten my money out of them by then! My foot is wide and my ankles weak and these are the only workbook/walking boot in wide with enough ankle support that I can find. Please never discontinue this line! I aways hold my breath when it’s time for a new pair fearing you’ve changed them or discontinued them. Thank you

    I have had these boots for over a decade and they are still in good shape after heavy use. They keep your feet warm in the winter yet are breathable enough to wear in the summer. In addition to them being durable they are extremely comfortable. I've worn them for 8+ hours on my feet and can say they are the most comfortable brand of shoe I've ever owned.

    I wish I could wear these lovely hiking/work boots to work! They are WONDERFUL! I was unfamiliar with the Ariat brand - boy, have I been missing out! Wide toe box, room for insoles (anti-microbial so that they stay smelling fresh) and are just sooooo comfy! Don't hesitate, you'll lov'em!

    I just ordered my second pair. These boots fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable. I was at my whit's end trying to find a pair of shoes that fit and my feet hurt at the time or I wouldn't have tried on a boot but am glad I did. Highly recommend.

    We got these boots for my teenage daughter who works and rides at a barn. The boots are exactly what she needed for working and riding. She can feed horses and clean stalls in them, and then ride without changing shoes. Yay! No need for more pairs of boots. She wears them for both Western and English riding and they work well for both disciplines. She said they are very comfortable as well.

    I've been buying and wearing Ariat Terrains since they came out more than 20 years ago. I liked them because they have a great dual purpose, riding a horse as well as light hiking. I like to get off and walk along with my horse now and again on long trail rides in order to stretch my legs, and Terrains fill the bill. The only downside for me is the fit, the run large in every parameter but the length, so my toes don't have as much room as they should when the rest of the boot fits right. The only other weakness in the soft plastic toe protector: it tends to break up from tapping the snow off often. I will keep buying them anyway!

    I was so excited to get Terrain boots. I wore them to work and my foot toes started to hurt. There is a ridge running between the heel and the archthatcutoff mycirculation. Ihated to but I hadto returnthem. A softer contoured foot bed, may have made a difference.

    What a great find! The terrain boot has the perfect support contour for my feet for all day comfort. The heel has enough of a height to not slide through a stirrup for riding. They’re quite stylish too! I was attracted to the serape print in desert colors with pink yellow and turquoise. This lady is very satisfied.

I’m a zookeeper so my shoes go through a lot, 40 hrs a week, 52 weeks a year, all types of weather and chemicals and animal messes, and Ariats have lasted me longer than any other brand I’ve tried. When taken good care of, I can get around a year out of them wearing them every day. Other work boots for the same price last me maybe 6 months. Super comfortable even without replacing the insoles, which helps when you’ve got plantar fasciitis. 10/10 would recommend.

    I just got these boots in the mail today and I will say I was a little bit disappointed in the color. I ordered the color “Sunshine” and it is more orange in real life but other than that good quality. I would recommend a size half a smaller then your usual shoe size. For example I am a 9 and they are big on me so I would order a 8 1/2

Very comfortable for long days as a vet tech and long days at the barn. While not waterproof, I have yet to have issues in the rain, snow, or mud.

    I love these boots. I am a landscaper and I wear my boots 6 days a week. I have week ankels and these boots hold up great. I have not rolledmyankel inoneyet. Myonly complantis that the rightfoot,rightoutsidebottom sole has come loose and now has a inch gap. I love the shoe other then the one issue. May try something else for the price and only getting 6 months out of them. Bought them a Quarter Horse Congress.

    Honestly, I am an elder Male and have been battling shoe sizing all my life. Ariat has always come thru well. Womans 11C is a Mens 9B. No one makes a Male 9B. These Cordovan Boots are balanced looking work wear for narrow footed Males. These fit great, and keep my feet dry as I walk my Huskies thru the woods. Comfortable all day. Thank You.

    I have worn these hiking boots for several winters now, and they have consistently been great boots! They can be laced snugly, but are also roomy enough for extra socks in cold weather. They also wear very well, and are still water-tight the second winter, when that pair becomes my "sloppy boots". All in all, a really great product!

    Positives: -Very very comfortable -excellent support -held up well to long rugged hiking Cons -dangerously slippery on smooth or wet surfaces. Like scary slippery. Do not buy these boots to use in snow, wet areas or smooth rock surfaces. -falling apart after a year of use -not the high Ariat quality I am used to with my paddock boots and tall show boots. Honestly dissapointed. -sole pulling away from boot pretty quick after purchase

    My son told me about Ariat boots and his preference for them over other brands so I decided to try them. They are extremely comfortable and I expected to need some "breaking in" but was very pleased to wear them all day the first day with zero discomfort. I LOVE them. And every employee who helped me was friendly, courteous, and professional. On my first visit to the store I ordered the boots to be delivered there and the order and pick-up were seamless. I'm definitely a Ariat and Boot Barn fan!

    I have had my terrain boots for three years now, and even after wearing them 6 days a week, many times for most of theday, they are in perfectcondition andare ascomfortable as any shoe I've ever worn! Idon't have the waterproof version, but they are decently water resistant. The traction is excellent, and they also are pretty cool in the summer time. Excellent boot! Definitely worth the money!

    Very happy with these boots. Well made and waterproof. Size is dead on. I do want to get some inserts to give my feet even more cushioning. But these boots were comfortable as soon as I put them on and I wore them all day. Worth every dollar I paid for them.

    I am very picky about what I put on my feet. Grandma wore ugly shoes but never had issues with her feet because they were "healthy" shoes. Ifollowed suit most of my life.Finally, I decided to step outof my"comfortzone" and check out some boots so I could help my friend work her horses. I have found that I like walking about in these boots beyond the corral! I have back problems and I half expected to have issues and nothing has come about! I am amazed! Love it!

    Best paddock boot I have found. Have been wearing them for 20 years. They only last a year or so because I wear them in the spring and summer, so they get wet in wash bay when I am hosing off my horse, but they are comfortable from the second you put them on until you end up throwing your old pair away for a new pair.

    Who do I thank for creating the most comfortable boot I ever tried on!I have, since my birth, been plagued with bad feet. Long, narrow and flat as a pancake and all my life been on a quest for that one perfect boot. Trying on this boot at the Boot Barn in Paso was the best thing I could have done for my sore ole feet because it was instant relief!     I’m on my third pair. They last me about a year, but I wear them to do all my farm/horse/yard chores daily. I get so much more work done when I’m wearing them because they feel great on my feet right out of the box. I tried on the other styles (the waterproof ones), and they don’t seem as comfortable to me. Everyone’s feet are different, these are my all time favorite.

    They fit Right from the first time you wear them.I have them in regular wear and in water proof.I use them every day at home and at work.The only problem I've had is leather tore along the stitching on one boot.

    I have a weak ankle and the steel shank helps to keep me from rolling my ankle. They provide great stability for me.

    This is my second pair of terrains that I have bought. I teach riding lessons and am on my feet in the barn all day. They wear well, are extremely comfortable, and not too bad to look at either. Unless they are discontinued, I won't buy another kind of boot.

    These are wonderful for every day riding...light weight, clean up easily and above all...very comforable. The toe box fits easily into Englidh stirrups!Ican wear them alldaylong. They are both stylish and sturdyso they compliment my saddleseat jodphurs well.

    I have owned these boots for around 8 years and I see no need for other boots. The last is extremely supportive and comfortable. When I put themon Ihaveimmediate comfortonmy feet and in my back.Otherthan s bit of dust, they look new. They have worn well without sepration, squeaking, leaking, cracking, or hardware failure. They were definitely well worth their purchase price.

    Great shoes. We have a cow calf livestock farm, I purchased a pair of these a few yeats ago to wear on the farm while taking care of cows, those are still good. I got the new ones to wear away from the farm for a couple years then use them while working.

    I bought these boots because my new home was acreage where tennis shoes weren't high enough in the ankle. These are lightweight, over the ankle, and the mostcomfortable shoes of my life. Enoughso that I bought a second pair online. I can actually move all my toes! My corns are going away. Absolutely wonderful!!

    They didn't even last 3 months. The front is ripped and broke off and there is a gaping hole. I had the same pair before and the lasted forever, Ariat quality has drastically declined. I have had it happen with other boots as well. Steer clear. Quality is terrible. Boots are no longer made to do what they are advertised to do. Be waterproof and durable. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! Because they are not cheap either!

    From the moment I started wearing these I knew they were different from any other work boot I had owned. They did not require a break in period at all. I can wear them for 0 hours walking on a concrete floor and my feet do not hurt at all. I would recommend for someone looking for a comfortable and stylish boot just to kick around in and that person that needs a shoe that is going to keep them comfortable all day long.

    I've had four pairs of these now - wore the first two pairs out completely (although it took a couple of years). I keep one pair for good,anduseonepairfor mucking, muddy riding days, and general chores.They have great traction, I can walk/stand all day in them if I need to, and they transition right into the saddle, no problem. I wear them with half-chaps for English lessons, and with jeans for working cows. All of them have been waterproof until the seams wear out, and they clean up well, too. Definitely worth the price. (I just wish they still came in dark grey/charcoal!)

    My wife & daughter have these boots. They love them. They both work at a horse barn and on there feet all day. I believe this is the third pair for each of them. They put many many miles on each pair. They won’t even try a different work boot on lol.

    I have an old pair of these that have lasted 10 years. I bought a new pair about 4 months ago and they are junk! The black padded collar around the heel is crumbling. The worst part is the heel is coming off of both. I'm no longer an Ariat brand user.

    The hiking boots, bought in brown, are beautiful. These were a gift for my daughter. She said they were super comfortable from the first wear and she loves them. I have a pair of Ariat Daisy Cowboy boots which were also super comfortable from the start. Very reliable brand! Highly recommend.

    This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Never had to break it in. I wish I had followed my instincts the first time and ordered a size smaller. Tighten up the laces and it fits nice and snug. Very comfortable around the ankle and doesn't rub. Looks good too. I would highly recommend this boot again.

    I ordered the black endurance boots to wear to work. I also ordered the Sunshine color. Interestingly, the black boots fit more snugly than the brownboots.Theyfit morelikemy old pair of Sunshine's ina size 7.

    Best boots ever. I have been riding and caring for my own horses for 60 years in Iowa. Ariat paddock boots changed the game with their sports minded comfort and durability. I wear the terrain boots for over 3 hours daily in the barn doing chores and riding, and I keep a pair 'barn free' to wear for other non horse activities. They are also indestructible. I love them.

    I love these boots. These are my 7th pair. I wear them at work in a lab where I'm on my feet all day. They last me about 2 years, I just have to change the insoles once the wear out. They are Iight and comfortable, while offering superior protection from anything that's been dropped.

    I have had these shoes over a year and they still look great. At first I wore them around town but now I wear them for trail riding. They've been in mud and water and clean up good. They are comfortable for all day wear.

    I have worn these boots for years and sadly, the quality continues to diminish and the longevity is getting less and less. They are incredibly comfortable, although I do wish they made them in a narrower width.

    These are great boots! Mine are 5 years old. I wear them to work every day. They provide better support with just the right amount of give somyfeetstaystrongand flexiblebut don't become fatigued. Noother shoe or boot has performed this well for me. I have a narrow heel and wide foot and am hard to fit. I normally wear a size 5 D width but the 5.5 size works well.

    I wear these at work-10 hour shift, and my feet are cradled nicely! I never have any foot pain, not even wearing them the first day. I bought 9.5 even though I usually wear a 9, but because I like to have warm feet and wear thick socks with my shoes. These have great insoles. I love that they are dark and look good with all my jeans. My first pair of Ariat's and I love them already.

    I first bought these boots when they came out and they were great. Lasted over two years and endured every day use. Second pair, horribly disappointed.Noteven sixmonthsold, the toe stitching isgonewithgaping holes. The inside foot bed has a huge hole worn out in the heel. Not as comfortable. Definitely more cheaply made. I expected more from the brand and price.

    I have had these almost a year now. There was no breaking in period and they are super comfortable. I had to stand for 10 minutes in almost ankle deep water, to convince my noble steed that I wasn't dragging her to her death in a stream of lava. She finally crossed and my feet were dry as can be. Water, ankle deep muck, no problem, the best purchase I have made :)

    My fourth pair of these boots in about 18 years. While they get a LOT of heavy, dirty, tough use, the most important part - the sole - never changes, and I can wear these all day long right out of the box. Don't change them, Ariat, and I'll buy them forever.

    I bought the boots and matching chaps for occasional riding - perfect. I took them out for a short hike - blisters even with Smartwool insulation socks on. Ok, I deserved that... Broke them in - hours of heavy gardening with or without socks and they're FLAWLESSLY COMFY. BUT... The soles on both pairs started peeling off - WTH? Guerilla glue with rubber bands until fully dry as a last resort. It worked! - but these were rarely worn and not ever in wet conditions. So why the poor craftsmanship on the soles? Despite all that I will buy again, no one else makes an upper so comfortable once broken in.

    I bought these boots many (many) years ago and are still riding in them weekly. They're dirty, and broken in and are honestly so comfortable I even wear them when I'm not at the barn. 100% would recommend. The only reason I'm looking at others is because there are more colors now :)

    I’ve had a few pairs of these boots over the years. I worked in a manufacturing facility where I was on my feet 8 hours a day. I usually got over a years worth of use from a pair of these boots. Working on concrete, the support and comfort cut down on fatigue. The non slip soles also helped with the fluids on the floor. They also just looked good with shorts. I’ve had pairs with steel toes and without depending on where I was working.

    This is my second pair of Ariat Terrains. They're really comfortable for riding and walking, I wear them all the time! I'm very happy with Sheplers. The price was really good and they arrived (to Australia) in less than two weeks. I couldn't be happier.

    I ordered 7 1/2 wide. Sometimes I order a 8 due to having wide feet. Fits true to size. Plenty of width. They are so comfortable! Good support and they were on sale which is a bonus! May have to buy another pair.

    Just thought I would rate these boots. I have 2 pairs of the Ariat women's terrain one in gray and one in black. One pair bought in November 2005 and one pair April 2006. I wear only these 2 pairs of shoes. The sole on both have not worn and they are the first shoes that do not hurt my feet, they actually make my feet when hurting stop. They are great!!!!!!
