    Comfortable, but not very durable.

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work in a warehouse and was looking for a boot that would wear better on a rougher concrete surface without being a heavy lug boot. After break-in these are very comfortable for an 8-9 hour shift. New, these look more like a dress boot than a work boot. The construction appears to be quite good. They were very stiff, and the leather had a cardboard like feel. I took several weeks to break them in before wearing them to work. After one week, the leather is very distressed and scuff with just the slightest contact. At this point, I don't have high hopes that they will hold up very well. I've worn Ariat Boots for many years and don't feel that these are the quality that I have come to expect. I feel that there are much better options available at this price point.

    These boots are great, I am very tough on my gear and tend to wear them out rather quickly. However this pair of boots is very well built and stands up to the beating that I give them. This is the first pair of Ariat shoes I have owned and am very pleased with the result. I will definitely be purchasing from Ariat again. Also, very happy that they have wide sizes.

    These shoes are really comfortable and feel like great quality. I have had them about a month now and they are the best work shoes i have had in a while. Walking around a warehouse and driving and these feel great. I had my motorcycle slip out of my hands with the kickstand over my foot and these shoes saved my toe from being crushed while still retaining their shape.

    New boots are stiff and cause discomfort.

    I recently purchased a pair of Ariat 6" Lace Up Ground Breaker work boots. For the last 20 plus years I have been wearing Red Wings in a very similar style. I put the Ariat boots on thinking it would take a few days to break them in. Not the case. Put 5 miles on them with zero issues. In fact they are more comfortable than my tennis shoes. Not only am I saving money but the boot was a joy to wear. I decided to try the work boots because I have 2 sets of Ariat Cowboy boots that I love as well. Quality and a great price! Thank you Ariat and Boot Barn.

    Only issue is they are not the same color as what’s pictured. Fairly easy break-in. I normally wear a size 10 however these 9.5’s fit perfect.

    Very hard for me to find a good work boot. I am on my feet on concrete for 10+ hours a day. I don't get to take advantage of the inserts since I have orthotics, but the orthotics fit in nicely with ordering a size up. Break in was about 2 or 3 days and after that a nice solid boot.

    These boots are awesome! Super comfortable and durable. There seemed to be zero break in time. It's almost like they come already broke in. Very good quality and craftmanship. They truly are one of the best pairs of boots I've owned. I'm in retail and I walk anywhere from 6 to 10 miles a day on concrete and these boots have my feet feeling great ar the end of the day.

    Bought these a month ago. Got em broke in good. Supple leather these are not. Stiff. Footbed stiff. If you have arthritis in a toe like I do, don't get them as it irritates. The only reason I got them is apparently justin quit making the 6in. Balluster bay. Next pair will be US made redwing 953's.

    I work on the railroad and 99.9% of my walking is on ballast. I have yet to find a pair of boots that are not completely destroyed after 1 year. I tend to always buy boots in this price range for that reason. With that being said, these boots are extremely stiff during break in. ( like wearing concrete) My feet hurt the first 2 weeks of owning them. The leather is soft after break in. To avoid tears, I apply mink oil or leather conditioner to keep the leather from drying out over time. I did notice that the strings are shorter on my 2nd pair vs my 1st. My only concern with these boots, is that I walked the shaft in the sole completely out in about 11 and a half months. If that happens again I will be changing boots next year. I would suggest these boots for someone that will go through boots yearly, a thicker insole as well. If you work on concrete all day or a flat hard surface, you should pick a more appropriate boot that is more suitable. They are not waterproof but mink oil and taking care of them will go a long ways!

    When I find something that works I stick with it. I just received my 14th pair. They are comfortable and wear well. Fairly quick break in time. I'm on my feet all day and use a shovel a lot and the dense sole doesn't break down like most boots. True to fit. I can't find them in stores anymore so I have to order online.

    Been buying Ariat composite toe boots for work, have always found them to be very comfortable with no break in needed and long lasting. They discontinued the model I preferred and had to go elsewhere for my last pair. Now since I no longer need safety toe I bought these 6" Groundbreaker. Ahh, again comfortable, wore them all day the first day with no issue. So happy with them I've bought another pair as I switch pairs every day so they have time to dry out. Highly recommended.

    After one month, had to super glue heel closed at sole. Other than that fit awesome, n leather broke in great! Wish sole last longer or replacement option, but I do work with harsh oils.

    Was looking for some good work boots I've had my bad experience with other brand but I did my research and found these Ariat groundbreakers and ordered them now I just dont even take them off I've been to Wyoming and Nebraska in the cold weather and at the fuel pumps and they are perfect for me as a new truck driver who wanted something light weight and no steel toe this is the boot for a trucker like me.

Yesterday in the store, trying two other brands including Redwing (that stopped making my favorite similar to this), I had no choice except to buy another pair! They may certainly be great for shop work, yet I use them for working in the woods, hiking steep hills and farm work. They look so nice, they would pass for dress / work boots. Highly recommended.

    These are comfortable for a standard 8-9 hour day. 12 hours will have your feet in serious pain. If walking all day on concrete, there are not the right boots. These are great for &standard work boots and take about a week to break them in.

Super stylish, tuff, my feet fit just perfect, no fatigue or stress while wearing them all day. Until last June 2024 when I noticed the right boot heel seam started separating (see images). Nothing wrong with the boots at all.

    I’ve been wearing these boots about two weeks now and, as expected, they were a little stiff at first especially around the ankle. Since they are lace up you are able to adjust the tension so they fit just right. During these few weeks the boots are breaking in nicely and becoming softer. I love the color and look of this leather. I work mostly indoor maintenance so I’m not too rough on boots, but quality is great and I have no doubt that these will last. I usually wear an 11 sneaker and 10d boot.

    This work boot is very comfortable after very little break in time, just a few days. It is rugged, gives good support, and has a good non slip sole. It is good for both indoor and outdoor work and comfortable all day.

    A very nice well crafted boot. Nice enough for casual wear but made for work. Sizes may run a touch big. The insole is pretty hard and there is not a lot of cushion in the sole. Has a stitched sole which should provide good wear. I use arch supports and they fit and stay in place just fine. The tongue is suede with no side gussets so dirt or sand could get into the boot if used outside. As an indoor or warehouse boot it should perform great.

    Boots are great. They run very big. Normally wear a size 12, ended up with size 10.5. Review the size chart for your foot measurement. Compare it to the size they recommend before ordering.

My son has an ankle injury, and we haven't been able to find any athletic shoe that is supportive enough for him. These boots look enough like dress shoes under a pant leg while giving my son the support he needs and meeting the school dress code. They shine up nicely, and the leather is becoming more beautiful with time. My son's ankle, knee, and hip pain have decreased significantly since wearing these boots. I told him about when I was a professional horse trainer and I always had 6 to 8 pairs of Ariat paddock boots on rotation at any given time, and he is so pleased with his Ariats that he thinks he might be following in my footsteps in that way! We are lifetime customers for sure.

    Don't believe the reviews that these are narrow shoes. I wear a normal width. However, I purchased a wide width based on numerous reviews that these shoes were narrow. Boy was that a big mistake! These shoes are much too wide and slip on my heels terribly. Very disappointing - these are very nice boots.

    I like the look, weight, (and unlike others in the review section) feel of these boots. Unfortunately i have two-three gripes with these boots. 1. The boots are NOT durable. I use them for work but i dont do anything intensive and the soles are destroyed after only 6-7 months. 2. The laces are cheap cheap cheap and youll need to replace after about 2 months. Other than that, decent boot.

    I've been on my feet in these for the past month...from the shop floor to the flight line, from the field to the farm to the show floor and these boots have shown well throughout. Break in took about two days. With after market insoles these fit perfectly & are very comfortable. Mods: added superfeet gold insoles & 63" Iron laces These boots do not shine up well with traditional wax polish...cream worked better but the best has been some Danish oil and wax paste. I used leather butter on the tongue to darken it up.
