McRae

In 1959, Branson J. McRae founded McRae Industries which started off making footwear for children. He started using the process 82 construction which drew notice from the Unites States Government. McRae Footwear was approached to convert his 82 construction equipment to accommodate the new vulcanized construction that the Government had requested. The combat boots consisted of a direct molded sole and vulcanized construction which McRae began to make in 1967 for the soldiers in the Vietnam War. These McRae combat boots were known as the Olive Drab Jungle boots. This was when McRae Boots emerged as one of the leaders in manufacturing military footwear even to this day.

Ever since McRae's humble beginning s in 1967, McRae Boots have been consistently constructing military footwear for the US Government. The strongest and most sophisticated fighting force in the world has been wearing McRae combat boots every year since 1967. McRae continues to be known for their unprecedented craftsmanship and their commitment to providing the armed forces with superior products that can surpass all performance standards. When lives are on the line, no piece of equipment is as important as a great pair of combat boots.
