Sock liner is a definate +. I do find that the side lace hook does interfere with safe movement in and around confined work spaces. I have removed it. Laces provided wit boot are extremely long, adding to the above mentioned problem. I have shortened mine. Traction is amazingly good on all wet surfaces except in oil/hydraulic fluids. Excellent heel wear characteristics.
