I am from Alaska and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I use these boots for everything. I hike trails and climb mountains, hunt, and work with these boots. With a little bit of shoe grease, your feet will never get wet, even when crossing streams in these boots. I have never had a blister with these, even after hiking 14 miles. The all leather design will mold itself to your foot after a few weeks. They provide awesome ankle support when carrying large loads, and have saved me from many turned ankles. The thick soles protect my feet from rocks and nails during work, and the treads grip moss, ice, wet rocks, and slippery logs like vice grips. The steel toes will protect you from chain saws. They are insulated, but are never too hot to wear in the summer because they are very breathable. I went ahead and checked date night as a "Best Use" too... what girl isn't impressed by a man with kilties on his boots? I have used many boots growing up in Alaska and being in the military, and I have never had a pair as versatile as these. These boots really do it all. Get a pair 1 size bigger than normal so you can wear wool socks with them.
