Comments about Dr. Martens Men's Wellington Work Boots:

The sole broke in three months of normal use. Boot barn won't refund do to "no proof that I purchased them there". That's understandable, but now I have a pair of $125 dollar boots that are trash. Who would think I would need to keep a receipt for a pair of steel/composite toe boots. I thought I would have scuffed them before the sole broke.

Print Since April 1st, 1960 Dr. Martens boots have been paving the way for rebellion and fashion. Dr. Martens boots are a cultural icon since they burst on the scene in the 60's. In the decades before, when kids were mini versions of their parents, Dr. Martens boots, or "docs" to the younger generations, provided an option in a world of pre-determined music, fashion and art. Dr. Martens Boots because the icon for innovation and self-expression. It was initially designed to be a comfortable, hard-wearing, classic boot. In the early days, it was like a infection and kept a low-profile at first, but then spread like wildfire. Postmen, factory workers and transport unions bought the boots by the thousands and soon after the outcasts, the rejects and the rebels of society had to have their "docs." It soon went from working class to the masses in no time. Dr. Martens boots were setting the stage for what would be decades of dominance. By the late 60's and 70's Dr. Martens boots had been adopted by "organizations" and "tribes" all over the world. From mods, glams, punks, goths and psychobillies to industrialists, nu-metal, hardcore, straight-edge and grunge. Dr. Martens was continuing it's infectious ways and had 50 million pairs sold in eighteen months. It spread faster than the radio and cell phones. "Docs" were what everyone wanted. Even today, decades after the birth of Dr. Martens boots, the original 1460 is still around. It is as much a symbol of being unique, an individual and original as the day it was invented. Dr. Martens still stands as the Anti-fashion boot for everyone. Dr. Martens anchor you, liberate your creativity, inspire and fuel your identity. Our heritage fits your future; your future is the "docs" future.
