The El Paso boots by Dan Post are a great boot for any contemporary cowgirl! These boots are 11" tall, making them a great fit for almost any calf. They are fully leather lined which allows your feet to breath when wearing your boots. The El Paso style is definitely a modern look with the snip toe and the tall fashion heel. The outsole and heel are both made from stacked leather, making them a great choice for the dance floor, or everyday wear. The Ultimate Flex Insole features a genuine Poron insole cushion with microbial features to reduce foot odor and also reducing step shock. The three part insole core gives flexibility to the foot and stability in the heel and arch. Comfort from Step One.

Comments about Dan Post Women's El Paso Western Boots:
First, I must say that I never thought I'd buy cowboy boots. I got these in tan for my upcoming Nashville wedding to change into at my reception when my feet will inevitably hurt from the 4.25 in heels I plan to wear for the ceremony (so I got my dress hemmed for my height in heels and bustled for my height in boots).
I haven't had them long so I can't speak to their durability, but they appear well-made. I inadvertently ended up doing a lot of running and walking in them the few days I've worn them so far - no discomfort (and this is coming from a flip flops and sneakers girl).
Qualities I sought that these deliver: real leather; decent heel and a max of an 11" shaft (I'm short so a shorter overall boot with a not too short heel was important); not too crazy, flashy, or "cowboy" so I might actually want to wear them beyond the wedding in my non-southern city girl life; distressed look without being so worn looking that they look ragged; not shiny; no white or bright threading where the boot leather meets the sole or anywhere; not cheap looking; comfortable.
A factor I didn't think to look for which these boots happen to have and which I now appreciate - a quiet tread. You won't make the loud clomping noises that come with hard-soled shoes and yet you don't have the cheap look of an all rubber sole. The brown wooden heel is covered by a strip of black rubber and the rest of the sole appears to be (and smells like) a hard leather. In addition to the quiet, the soft soles give you the benefit of shock absorption for comfort.
My one gripe, and the reason I took off one star in my review, is that I noticed some clumps of a black, hard glue-like substance in a couple spots near the base of the boots. I scraped one off with my nail and regretted it because it left a light spot that was more noticeable than the original black spot. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of an exchange as nobody, or at least very few people, will ever be hanging out around my feet to notice.
I have slender but muscular calves. I can slip in and out of my boots without using my hands and can see some leeway around my legs when they're on, but I suspect that if your calves are larger than average, it might be a tight squeeze. So far I've worn them with leggings, skinny jeans, and even regular jeans shoved into the boots.
As for size, I am a 5.5 in most shoes. 6 was the smallest size offered here so I gave it a shot. I have size 6 Sorrel rain boots that are much bigger on me than these size 6 boots. Though I have a little wiggle room, I actually think that if they came in a 5.5, that would be too small for me.
In just one weekend of wear I've already received many compliments. Very happy with these boots!
